Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
really hope murray and mitchell can save this show!
Funny how good this show was looking beforehand.
If both these guys are fit, up for it and give 100% it really is a 50/50

Because of the fight or the dive he's gonna make? ;D
What's this dive thing about?
I was watching the Copa America on the other channel in between fights.
Bookies stopped taking bets due to suspicious betting patterns relating to Burns winning via KO in 3rd. So we were watching for that. Cook obviously misheard the message though.
It definitely looks dodgy. I mean in his defence I will say that I've fractured my hand & broken my nose in the ring & the adrenaline gets you through it, but the time that I pulled a muscle in my lower back (thankfully only in sparring) I was completely unable to do anything.
But, the issue is that if it was that bad then
I don't know how he passed tests & how he trained through it. The fact it got mentioned in advance is dodge. Add in the betting thing & this looks very, very wrong. I agree with Ed, that was a farce.
That's the thing. This looks too wrong now. I was joking about Cook taking a dive before but really hoped it wouldn't happen.
The only 'out' I see is that all the money piled in on Burns via KO due to insider knowledge that there was no way Cook was able to go the distance due to his back rather than a dive as such.
Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
So what will go wrong in this one?
I'm betting that Mitchell OD's in the 2nd.
Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
I meant Ed Robinson not Ed Chamberlin (he's the football bloke, right?) ;D
Fuck! Can't believe how blatant that was.
(Devastated I didn't steam into Burns when I first heard of the fix )
Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
Ok, Mitchell -Murray.
If Mitchell is fit, focused and sharp I think he wins via mid-late round KO.
If however he isn't (I don't think he will be) I think Murray will blast him out in about 4/5/6.
I hope Mitchell does it though.

I'm normally the last to accuse a fighter of something like this. I mentioned Liston, Seldon & Briggs above, but in all those cases I think there's reason to believe that they simply got blasted (Liston from another angle did appear to get hit hard & did try to carry on, Seldon was shit & Briggs was reportedly having the same things happening every day in sparring).
Unfortunately here, the way he seemed to almost turn his back into it, just gives me have the gut feeling that he threw it. I really hope I'm wrong.

who the hell comes up with these entrance themes:p

Yeah, I was going to correct you on the Eds, but I was too busy being disgusted.
I fear this could end up terrible as well. Hope not & I hope Mitchell delivers. At least he's looking at his opponent this time unlike before the Katsidis fight

thing is IF he has a long standing problem with his back, it could have just gone. I know someone with a dodgy back, he can be fine digging the garden then a couple of weeks later be a bent up cripple. Hell I've pulled a muscle sneezing;D
maybe word of his glass back out was doing the rounds..

That is good. Sick. But cracked me up.
* Note - Isn't MC Mark Burdiss just awe-inspiring? Such power and passion! What a voice. ;D

I'd totally agree if it was just that on its own. It's all the other factors & the way he seemed to turn into it that worries me. Good opening 30 seconds from Mitchell.
Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
If Mitchell is at peak performance I think he gets it, but Murray on points if Mitchell's anything but top notch.
