What makes Helenius such a great fighter? He beat a Sam Peter that just got the shit slapped out of him by Wlad and showed up heavy vs Helenius. He beat Brewster the very same way....right after Wlad whipped his ass. He beat Lyakhovich that was for all intensive purposes RETIRED...who's next? Rahman???
But that's fine, he can feast on the has beens like some Nordic Gerry Cooney, but when it comes time for a title fight he'll get what all the other undefeated fighters get vs Wlad.....a 1 in the L column.
he's NOT great. to be honest, all i have seen are the endings of his fights. but he does have good potential and that is what we are talking about. the KO's, the endings of these fights!
and wlad probably would win, only by jabbing all night and dancing. i bet if they traded, helenius would do him like liakhovich or better yet, corrie sanders!
i love that fight:)
that much size and power and wlad dont do shit but jab anymore. perfect example? the haye fight. haye was scared to death and ran and didnt throw shit. did wlad press it? fuck no. hell, at least this green newcomer has some intent on his punches! to hurt a MF....

Who is he ready for? What's a step up in class but not too big a step up?

Well if a retired boxer (or one that has just taken an ass whuppin) is too easy for him and the Klitschko's are too big of a step up then logic suggests he fight someone in between. Dimitrenko, Povetkin, Chagaev, Boytsov, Chambers, Thompson, Arreola, etc. If Helenius wants a title shot then eventually he's going to have to take on fighters not coming off of losses (like Sam Peter and Sergei Lyakhovich).

I know it is never going to happen but I'd like to see Helenius in with Haye. He would have his chin tested then and to be honest I think he would fail. Haye was scared against Wlad because he just couldn't get off. Numerous times he used very good footwork that would have got him in vs pretty much anyone else but everytime he looked for Wlad there was no one there and to make things worse the jab was. Helenius would not prove such a mobile and hard to catch fighter and if he couldn't hit Haye, he wouldn't hit Wlad much either. Not because Wlad is as fast on his feet as Haye or anything like that but because Wlad is a better boxer and has tuned his natural attributes very well now.
Re: Look out Klitschkos!! Robert Helenius is a serious threat....
Helenius doesnt' look that good at all, and would be eaten alive by either brother, the only chance he has is the same one every other puncher has against Wladimir, and thats a lucky punch. Physically he is not in Wladimir's league. He much slower, weaker, and doesn't have Wladimir general athletic ability, nor all of his boxing savy.
Re: Look out Klitschkos!! Robert Helenius is a serious threat....
Man i swear fightfan you are a tard when it comes to Wald man i mean i not his biggest fan but get real. Man has not lost since 2004 and has won 14 fights 13 of the fights he has not really lost a round. I mean i really don't think anyone going to beat him and he will go for a few more years then quite and retire with a lot of money and his brain will still be working. I go as far to say he may even hit the top 10 greatest heavys of all time. His comp was weak but Louis was weaker so was Tysons but there still up there. I can not see why he was shit on so very much at all.
Re: Look out Klitschkos!! Robert Helenius is a serious threat....
Helenius can punch hard, he has stamina. He's a slow starter but very fast to destroy the opponent. He has some selfdicipline too. However he can't benefit his 6' 7" as Klitschko brothers do. Besides i was little bit disappointed about his left jab in that Liakhovic-fight. He didn't use it actively. The positive thing was Helenius hitting back and took punches without going down easily. He's now ready for tough fight of 12 rounds but he must use his left jab more actively to open the way for that right power punch. Note that Helenius has relatively good combination as we saw in Liakhovic fight.
My guess: Helenius must beat 2 boxers before he'll get that worldchampion fight against Klitschko (whoever).
Re: Look out Klitschkos!! Robert Helenius is a serious threat....
Helenius shows promise....But like he said in his last post fight conference he needs a few more fights before the Klitschko's.

I agree. He's not ready to fight with Klitschkos yet. But it looks like he's indeed coming one of the very few boxers have even 10% chance to win Vitali/Vladimir. I guess Helenius must put in real test before that fight - can he win the fight after being in serious trouble during the early stage of fight? What's the mental power? I wrote this one coz lad named Cassius Clay passed that test in that Henry Cooper fight in 1963.
Re: Look out Klitschkos!! Robert Helenius is a serious threat....
I think his management is really good. Hellenius has the proper attitude. They will not bring him along too fast, I hope. I think his defense is good. He slips/dodges shots and counters very well. Never blinks. Nobody has hit him yet, or at least nobody has phased him yet. He's got a helluva chin as far as I can tell.
He looks slow, but I think that is deceptive. He's 6ft. 7 I think. Ever seen a giraffe run? Looks slow as hell, but is really fast.
His main strengths are his attitude, his corner, his power, his ability to block and slip punches and his killer instinct. That's a lot of strengths. But for sure, he needs some more top ten fights. I wish Haye would fight him instead of conning the public into letting him fight Vitali. Waste of time.

I would put Henelius in the top 3-5 Heavies, I also think he would do a number on Haye.
Im hoping Boystov and Mansour keep busy.

Latest news from Helsinki and Germany are telling about fight between Helenius and Dimitrenko planned by team behind Helenius, Sauerland. An article in local newspaper gave Helenius good chance to win that fight, coz Dimitrenko while though guy is quite soft after some body punches by Helenius. On the other hand the most dangerous guy for Helenius before potential Klitschko-fight might been David Haye. His fastness could be problem for Helenius. I think Sauerland Team don't want to risk career of Helenius by taking Haye-fight.

I wasn't sure if it was a real fight or meant to be a parody?
Ok after watching Helenius in my eyes clearly get beat by a guy who was outboxed by Tyson Fury is anyone still going to try and convince me Helenius is a serious contender, and not in fact something of a joke with his bizarre hair and appearance?
This thread title was absurd to me back then, and hopefully is absurd to most now.
