Re: Wlad to fight again in Novermber or December
Woah, woah, woah "He doesn't always deliver"?!?! Haye has NEVER delivered at heavyweight!!! He said he'd clean out the division. Well right now he'd be damn lucky to be considered top 10. He said he would decapitate Wlad & Vitali....we're still waiting. Haye has promised to bring excitement to the heavyweight division and he's one of the least exciting fighters there has ever been....14 punches a round vs Valuev....14!!!! I can do that without training at all and Haye is a professional athlete. I get that he has athletic ability & skill, but you guys buy the shit talking you don't buy based on the history of the fighter. People hate on me a lot for being a Klitschko fan, but I like the technical ability, the domination, and the dedication to the sweet science that I see from those guys. What does Haye bring INSIDE the ring when he doesn't have a microphone in his face? I just don't see it.
I think it's great that you guys support your countrymen so much, it's awesome....but I see David Haye as unworthy of having such a fanbase, he hasn't earned it.

Did Wlad Haye sell as well as it did because of Haye's shameless promotion or in spite of it?
Doesn't matter, Haye is British, you guys will buy anything
Why did HBO drop Wlad? Haye was the ONLY opponent they were willing to show. They even filmed a "face-off" with Max Kellerman and shit.
HBO (America) had to BUY the fight. Do you think Wlad was unhappy that Haye brought that American MONEY to the table?
No fights sell better than a hero-villain situation/grudge fights. It's extremely gullible to believe Wlad is not happy about these outlandish characters bringing attention to his fights and increasing his payday.

Because he fights in Europe and the time of those fights conflicts with HBO being a station that shows MOVIES. The ratings for Wlad & Vitali fights have been relatively good all things considered. Wlad vs Sam Peter I was a huge fight, Vitali vs Lewis, Vitali vs Sanders, Wlad vs Brewster I & II, Wlad vs Byrd II, Vitali vs Danny Williams....the guys have been good for numbers on HBO, but the time conflict is a big issue. How many fighters that fight in Europe that don't delay their matches are on HBO? 0....there's your answer.
Haye has been on HBO how many times without Wladimir? Is HBO showing Haye-Chisora?
Wlad says they disgrace boxing with their antics, I take him at his word. Plus Wlad has seen that those idiots would rather pull some stupid shit outside the ring than actually attempt to win the title inside the ring. David Haye showed more fight vs Chisora at the post fight press conference than he did in 12 rounds vs Wladimir.....FACT
Mark my words "When Wladimir fights in the United States again HBO will pick up the fight"

To be fair I never noticed Wlad busting a gut to "Make David Haye KO number 50"

OK...
Wlad-Haye happened at european time. The fight time wasn't moved to accommodate HBO. They still showed it though. They still purachased it. HBO didn't want Wlad fights BEFORE or AFTER Haye.
So why did they buy the Haye fight?
Re: Wlad to fight again in Novermber or December
They wanted it because it was a "good matchup" and they would have picked up the fight had Wlad fought Adamek or Povetkin as well. And the person who made that decision has now been fired & replaced with someone else.

Right... so Haye was the integral part in delivering Wlad his career high payday, his highest ever TV audience and putting him back on HBO.
You can hate Haye without denying blatant facts.
(HBO rejected Wlad-Povetkin ;))
Re: Wlad to fight again in Novermber or December
Pointless argument, really.
Haye obviously did a great job in selling interest for his fight against Wlad. Not so much for his HW accomplishments, really.... because beating "circus-man" Valuev, and garbage HW John Ruiz isn't really a good HW resume. He sold the fight because of his big mouth, his promises, his "snake-oil salesman" personality, and his punching power and talent, which held the promise of a good fight.
Yes, he probably made it possible for Wlad to earn more money for that particular fight than if Wlad had fought some timid, humble, "I hope I win" Joe Blow off the street.
And then Haye reneged on his promise. The joke's on us.... ha-ha-ha. He laughed all the way to the bank. "I never actually meant to actually fight.... are you kidding? You all bought that shit?"
Looking forward, would Haye make a good opponent for Wlad again? Absolutely not. "Fool me once.......", like the saying goes. He had his shot, and threw it in the garbage. Had it been competitive, then absolutely. But what the HW division needs now (and I qualify all my statements with "what's good for the division" because I happen to feel the HW division could use a serious "pick-me-up" right about now)...... is a good competitive fight involving Wlad. Someone who's not afraid to go in there and mix it up, hopefully while having the skills and power to challenge Wlad.

I 100% agree with this post. The only way Haye DESERVES another shot is to "fight" his way back up. Will he have to? I'm not really sure. To be honest I'm not that sure he even wants Wlad again.
Re: Wlad to fight again in Novermber or December
There's no way on earth Haye-Wlad ever happens again.
Chisora will fight Wlad as long as he doesn't get humiliated against Haye. The fight is already sold.
Vitali will fight Haye if he wins. That fight would have already happened had the Haye-Chisora press conference fight not happened. Team Klit said so.
Lyle and myself were discussing the value of bad behaviour and controversial characters. ;)
Re: Wlad to fight again in Novermber or December
FWIW, I'm curious to see the result of Haye vs. Chisora, but aside from that I have no interest in seeing Haye fight Vitali or anyone else.
Re: Wlad to fight again in Novermber or December
Povetkin, Mitchell, or Pulev are decent potential opponents for Wlad.
Re: Wlad to fight again in Novermber or December
Franklin Lawrence who has been ranked in the Ring magazine as one USA's top heavies for the past few years. Just trying something different or he can try to face an unknown undefeated fighter such as David Rodriguez in Texas or a Malik Scott in New York. The 0 is always a seller.
