I think Paulie will lose the title before Hatton gets ready to fight him.

I see what you are saying. I was watching at times myself and thinking that he was revising history somewhat and that even suggesting possible future names like Khan is a bit off as he has no idea where he really is.
The arrest of Hatton's Dad suggests something is really odd behind the scenes too. It just all seems a bit off. None of us knows the real deal with Ricky Hatton and unfortunately whatever it is is going to unravel in the ring. Either he is truly motivated or he is deluding himself, I guess we are all going to find out.
There is no turning back now unlike last time. He is going to have to go through with this and really I am not sure I buy the reasons. He wants to make everyone proud of him? We already were. The man is 34 next month.
18,000 tickets sold in a weekend, with no opponent and no undercard named. Unreal.
It's like when Tyson said - "I can sell out MSG having a wank"
Goes to show he still has the pulling power.
Ricky and Ray have not spoke for close to 2 years, and the next time they do Ray ends up taking a swipe at him !
When Ray was looking after Ricky's finances, it's alleged he was creaming money off the top and Ricky didn't know, hence why they have not spoke for so long.
It is a sad fact about boxing that by the time the boxer is aware of how to maximise his money and status away from the promoter/manager/trainer he is at the end of his career and near retirement. This comeback seems a desperate attempt to salvage some more money for himself and his promotion.
Does Froch get this kind of pull over there? I really hope he does as he is truly a great fighter.
Thoughts on the Hatton comeback. I'm glad to see him back, but fear it may end badly if he fights anybody good.

Hatton's come back is good for boxing, but is the come back good for Ricky,! I'm not to sure he
had a good career made good money, and only lost to the very best.
He is basic-lee a come forward fighter, that takes punishment to land his own Ricky is exciting
to watch, with a huge fan base. Hatton is one of the many fighters, that think they left the game with something to prove,! it's sad in a way that retirement for some great fights, is a place were there is
a void in there life. I like Ricky I wish him luck, just hope he does not get sparked again.:)
Thanks Greenbeanz, much appreciated. I hope for his sake it works out well.
Froch is barely known to the casual fan in the UK! But he's garnering more & more recognition as he goes....let's be honest though, most UK fighters only get a fifth of the pull hatton has! He's a phenom in british boxing...
Calzaghe only came to prominence post lacy...
Khan, for some reason the media were all over this kid while Burns and Froch have done it the hard way!
Hatton is just in a different league!
Khan had the mainstream coverage from Olympics and the start of his career with ITV so is very big. Tyson Fury may have bigger support than he really should.
I agree. Fury is just another channel 5 hype job..Quote:

David Price is barely ever mentioned on most media formats! Tragic.
This - I don't think we had anybody decent in our boxing team and this 17 year old pops up to win a silver. It was perfect for him. Nobody else at any Olympics since has been made such a big deal out of. James De Gale got a nice 2 million contract but nowhere near as fast tracked as Amir was. I doubt any of the crop of medalists from this year will get that much hype either. A LOT of casuals know of Khan.
