Re: GTA 5 - Views?
I've just met Trevor ;D
Probably a spoiler so if you haven't played any of the game I wouldn't read on...
I like how you can select your crews for the heists. For the first one at the jewelers I decided to going in quietly but I only invested in a good hacker. As a result my gunman crashed his bike when we were making the getaway and the driver got lost. I'm guessing if I'd gone for a good gunman and driver too that wouldn't have happened, so it's good that those decisions affect the heist.

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
Been sparse but finally got some time on today. Unbelievably expansive layout. Lots of small things, weapons menu much better. Multi character is a trip not to mention playing as a Rottweiler. None of that crash and burn surviving on a bike though...you try aerials off building or bleachers and bones snap and you die ;D Also people have serious attitude, everywhere I go and stand still someone talks shit and swings on you. Only played about an hour but its worth a look for even casual gamers.

I went for the best crew when doing the heist and made loads of money! A mate of mine did it on a budget and learnt less, despite paying a smaller cut.
A good tip before you do assassinations, invest in stocks in the rival firm, with all your characters if you can. Then sell for a massive profit after. I've been told to save the assassinations until you have more cash to invest as you'll get an even bigger return.

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
I got to play it last night for a few hours which consisted of breezing through the first two forced missions/ opening credits etc then taking a slow mooch around the island only interrupted by a swim at the beach at sunrise (the waves are actually enticing!!!!) was a surreal experience, the mountains are beautiful, down town at night is stunning and my neighbors address fucking rude!!!!
Oh and I got a hair cut and got STONED!!! ;D

I got to play it last night for a few hours which consisted of breezing through the first two forced missions/ opening credits etc, visiting Grove Street (CJ's home on GTA San Andreas... That was a trip, seeing what felt like my old gang) then taking a slow mooch around the island only interrupted by a swim at the beach at sunrise (the waves are actually enticing!!!!) was a surreal experience, the mountains are beautiful, down town at night is stunning and my neighbors are fucking rude!!!!

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
Trevor is such a riot. I love the preambles for when he goes on his rampages. In one some people are mocking his Canadian accent and it is so funny. In another he spots a man outside a coffee shop wearing a tshirt stating 'I'm a motherfucker'. Trevor gets affronted by stating 'I find your tshirt offensive!' and then goes on the rampage with this hilarious attack on hipsters and how they are degrading everything meaningful. Bullets all the while are spraying everywhere. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! ;D

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
It's official, I've now learned more about investing, buying and selling stocks than I had in school. I have a fleet of cop cars, armored trucks, bikes and ice cream trucks at 3 locations and do first heist later. Also discovered its very PC when it comes to physical altercation, you cannot beat up your barber or throw punches at a 'friend' or nagging ass Aunt. But with new button line up half the time you try to respond to stranger on the street you end up slugging them out or pulling a pistol so they call the cops. Takes adjustment ;D

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
I bought the first 2 gtas and my brother always got them after that but since the ps1 days I just haven't been a fan.. this time i gave into the hype and bought it... it's a technical marvel for sure and a great achievement but i just dont find the gameplay that fun... the driving is awkward and when you have to shoot and drive like when you are chasing teh boat it's just too frustrating for me... I dont find it fun... the game is pretty adictive thoguh but I dont like the characters that much and I don't find the story that absorbing...Wish I didnt buy it... very close to 70 dollars all in for something I could live with out..
Technically it is brilliant, it's just not for me.. i've never been a fan of a lot of these free roaming games

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
Well, I'm obviously moving at kind of a slow pace (for work reasons and because I tend to end up just fucking around/exploring a lot) but I've unlocked Trevor. Pretty good character so far, and some interesting missions. Just bought the hangar.
Anybody play Skyrim? If I was to really get back into video games I might give that a look. That and I need to play Mass Effect. I beat the first one years ago.

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
I agree with a poster above about the driving. It does feel very slippery and almost like driving on an ice rink. I quite liked the driving in GTA 4 and when you crashed, you really crashed. I didn't like the grainy dark feel to the original GTA4, but by the time of Gay Tony, they brightened it up and New York felt great to be in (Liberty City), this city does feel a little bit plastic, and there is nothing as grand looking as downtown New York in this with the millions of colours hitting you all over the place. In saying that the countryside in the new one is wonderful and the ocean looks lovely. Maybe it is just a fact that New York looks like a more appealing place than L.A.
I would really love a GTA to be set in London and for you to blow up Parliament, torture the Downing Street cat, abolish the monarchy, and just walk around museums. So many cool landmarks too.

Anyone on Xbox and want some GTA online?

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
I'm replaying it now, but I think only on replaying am I appreciating the depth. You know all about the characters and see where they are from and why they are as they are. GTA5 is one of the reasons I don't bother with films anymore. The game is now filling in all the layers and over 50 hours of fun with it.
Franklin towards the end sums them both up as being quite futile. Michael is rich and yet sitting around depressed and Trevor is always mad because nobody loved him. It is adroit storytelling.

Re: GTA 5 - Views?
I have just finished it for the second time now, and have just gone through all the missions, but done the main heists the opposite to what I had previously done. In that sense parts of the game have been new. I have saved all the extra things to last, so that I can do those and just let my assets grow whilst I get drunk, play tennis and go hunting, though I don't do those in that particular order. I think once I am done with this, the Playstation 3 is done. I would like to throw it out the window and smash it up, but that probably won't be allowed and so I shall just use it as a DVD player instead.

Kifflom!
I'm in love with this game.
Found the rapids/ waterfalls in Tonga Hills. Gorgeous fun.
Went walking in the desert too!
