Trinidad only lost to GREAT technical fighters with sharp defense in Hopkins, Wright, and Jones (both were way past it), Canelo would never beat any of those 3 even on their worst night
last time I checked Chavez Sr. had to take handouts because he had squandered all of his winnings on drugs and alcohol (said by his own son), only has any money now cause of his appearances and little commentary jobs, oh and probably taking cash out of his little queer of a sons pockets

The boxers are idiots. In their biggest fights they earn more than many of us do in decades. In a couple of fights more than we do in a lifetime. Why do they not invest their money properly and hedge their bets in case of tough times. They have opportunities that few of us have and that is to earn these paychecks. At least respect it by securing your future somewhat. Too many end up like Trinidad and top boxers should never be in this position.

Exactly. Tito is one of my favourites but I dont have pity for these guys anymore. I mean junk bonds ffs. You would think others would look what happened to countless fighters dating back to Louis becoming an usher and use that empirical gathering to not let the same thing happen to them.

But don't you guys have a bit of sympathy for Tito, given the fact that it was his financial adviser who pissed it away doing something against Tito's wishes? And this was a guy who was with Tito for 24 years apparently and never did him wrong, so Tito thought he was being smart with his money.
I still say there's a big difference in that and guys like Tyson who spent money like they'd always have the same income for life.

Oh don't get me wrong. I have little sympathy for Trinidad also. Both he and his father should've known better. And yes, it happens to too many athletes who surround themselves with the wrong people. You got to work pretty damn hard to flush $63 million down the tubes. But hey... in my mind it takes nothing away from his "in-the-ring" exploits and accomplishments.
Me... I'd have to live over half a millenium to make that kind of money. So no... sympathy is one thing I don't have.

No sympathy. Mainly cuz I don't understand how a man (especially one who earned his money getting punched in the head) would give someone else complete control of his money. It makes no fucking sense. You feel the need to have a financial adviser? Fine. Employ one. But don't give him complete control of your money. Even if you give him some access make sure you're getting notifications on any transaction involving your money.
