Because as i said, those guys never fought the klitchko brothers, lewis, and even david tua.
Shavers was a hard puncher for his size and during that era.
There are tons of guys who punches harder than him.

Tex Cobb:"Larry Holmes doesn't hit as hard as Earnie Shavers. Nobody hits like Shavers. If anybody hit harder than Shavers, I'd shoot him.""Earnie Shavers could punch you in the neck and break your ankle."
So much talk lately over a bum. Whether Earnie is the hardest puncher of all time, the 5th hardest puncher of all time, the 100th hardest puncher of all time, or whether he punched like a sissy, the fact remains... he was a bum, a never-was, a no chin, a no heart, a no stamina, never was a champ and never would have been regardless of what era he fought in. He's an interesting novelty but he doesn't deserve to be talked about so much.
Earnie Shavers
Had 'perfect' hair.
There wasn't a single strand out of place.
* His Knockout of Kenny Norton was beautiful. 'Awesome destruction'
* He 'dislodged' Muhammad Ali's brain and ruined the man.
* He floored the 5th Greatest Heavyweight of All-Time. 'Larry Holmes'.
* He was the only human to floor and 'Knockout' > Roy 'Tiger' Williams.
* Devastating early KO's over 'highly regarded' Howard Smith and 'rock-jawed' Henry Clark.
* The only man to floor and Knockout 'Lil' Jimmy Young.
Shall we continue.
I am completely sick of it.
I swear @Bill Paxtom is going to pump up every single bum fight he ever had over the next few months as if it was the most stellar career ever.
Might as well start up one for Butterbean as well!
Hard puncher no worries.
There are probably a hundred guys in amateur gyms right NOW who could punch harder but they can't land any of that shit on a good opponent, just like Shavers most of the time, so it's a moot point.
The guy could barely even box for Christ sake!
You fool! lol
Yes it was, full credit to Earnie, fair is fair.Quote:

Years upon years of using his head as a punching bag to tire out his opponents ruined the man, not the single shot from Earnie which failed to knock him even down.Quote:

Subjective assessment of greatness, the Larry Holmes Shavers fought was basically a cruiser and inexperienced.Quote:
* He floored the 5th Greatest Heavyweight of All-Time. 'Larry Holmes'.
Even Ross Puritty, Perhaps the hardest chin that ever boxed was stopped once by a mediocre opponent (he finished on his feet still).Quote:
* He was the only human to floor and 'Knockout' > Roy 'Tiger' Williams.
Never heard of them either.Quote:

Bummy Cruiser. A further embarrassment to the golden era considering he beat the 2 top names of the golden era, Ali and Foreman, the house of cards wavers some more.Quote:
* The only man to floor and Knockout 'Lil' Jimmy Young.
I would rather not LOLQuote:

Shavers was overrated because there so many fucking threads on him on hear my god. He could punch but his chin was worse then fucking Walds was and he had no stamina and heart was lacking as well. Is there a thing on him or something so much Shavers today my god.
Earnie Shavers
Those who say he had no stamina and no heart, are completely wrong.
'Heart'
Earnie definitley had a heart.
'Stamina'
Earnie's problem was that he fought at 'Full-Speed' from the opening bell,
and tried to take out his opponent right away.
His problem, was that he failed in setting a proper pace for himself when he
could not get his opponent out of there early.
Earnie Shavers:
*Caused more blackouts than Con-Edison
*Knocked OUT Jimmy Ellis
*Knocked OUT Jimmy Young
*Knocked OUT Ken Norton
*Scared Joe Frazier and George Foreman from EVER fighting him (in their own words)
*Blasted Ali, Lyle, Norton, Holmes SO HARD, THEY ALL SAID HE HIT HARDER THAN ANYONE EVER
*Got ROBBED against Muhammad Ali
*Entertained boxing fans worldwide for nearly 20 years with exciting fights, 68 KOs
@Max Power wtf is wrong with that? YOu can't deal with it.
