Things have not changed much.
And yet his purses have increased ever since. The guy is a fucking genius.
Yes it worked out for him after he beat Oscar.

Most top tier fighters seem to make more money after they leave Arum. Hmm...
The decision not to face Margarito was a good one considering what we now know.

I'm meh with Brook/Rios. It is not an upsetting mismatch like Wilder/Molina, Stevenson/Sukhotsky/Bika or Garcia/Salka, but it's not a fight I'll look particularly forward to either.

Maidana?
To me Rios isn't even top 10 at WW. But if being busy against worthless opponents is good enough for you all have at it I suppose. I just wondered if it was good enough for you all. Froch won me over, I think Brook is more talented, but with weak opponents like they are lining up(and frankly his entire career is littered with mediocre opposition compared to his talent) I won't be getting on board with Brook. I'll stop asking that he step up as it seems his fans are happy with being an ABC title holder. If I was a fan I would be highly highly highly disappointed, but I'm not so why should I root for him to try for greatness?
Rios will be the best opponent Brook has faced. It's between Rios and Porter. And out of the 2 Rios is the more accomplished one
I agree, Brook didn't exactly comfortably beat Porter really. And at times he looked bothered by Porter's aggression. Carson Jones gave him hell with his pressure in their first fight and he also had his moments in the rematch. Brook isn't overly comfortable with pressure and Rios will bring plenty.
It's not as poor as a few are making out. He brings stylistic problems. I actually don't think it's a smart fight to take. He could realistically wait out the year fighting complete cannon fodder if he gets past Gavin, knowing that a Khan fight will be there for him next year. My only issue is that Diaz may be too small to cause Brook many problems. I'm assuming Hearn believes he is, otherwise it would be a daft fight for him to make.
Re: Are you okay with Brook/Rios August 8th?
To me, there's a subtle difference between Porter type pressure and Rios type pressure. Porter is a bit of a swarmer. He bulls in non-stop, and has the power to get your attention if you're not ready for the swarming. Rios is more measured in his aggression. He bulls forward... but is slower and easier to measure and counter. Just because Brook didn't look comfortable at times against Porter is by no means an indication he'd have the same trouble with Rios. I think (and hope) Brook handles Rios comfortably.
