Thurman is the man to beat at 147. His fight with Danny Garcia showed that. But he may not be "the man" at 147, and may not even be the man we want to see. The man we want to see is Errol Spence.
Thurman is the top 147 pounder. Clearly. But he has to face Spence, a legitimate challenger in order to keep the suspicion off of his reign at the top.
I take Spence/Thurman as a 50/50 fight.

Danny Garcia had Postol on his payroll for like a year rather than fight him. He came to 147 and avoided everyone until Thurman. He won’t fight Spence, he is quite clear about that. He won’t even fight Porter for his rematch with Thurman. That’s multiple fighter Postol/Porter off the top of my head that I can think of that he was ordered to fight and refused. Keith Thurman has been a real champ since 3-17-15 against Guerrero(same soft opponent as Garcia, coincidence, perhaps to the stupid) so his whole title reign the other top guy has been Brook up until Spence.
