Roy is only an athletic, punch-flurry, idiot! Can you explain that? Don King knows.
as an obvious fan of both of them...RJJ, PBF, and holyfield are top 3 favs....but as far as this thread...I thought RJJ is second to SRR....and said Floyd would be third...but once he (PBF) retires he will surpass RJJ for the number 2 spot and if he remains unbeaten he will IMO be the best ever...RJJ was the best thing in the sport for fifteen years 49-1...before he lost....really 49-0 the DQ..... Floyd is much better technically and as far as athlectic ability RJJ was great but floyd could fight the same way too if was trained that way, but it doesn't benefit a fighter in the long run to only rely on physical athleticism because once you slow down a step you get clipped like ROy did...PBF's technical style and ability to take a punch gives him more of a chance to remain unbeaten and not be starched by one punch...So this makes his potential to better than Roy possible...he has to keep going though....until then he's 3 and RJJ is 2...
Answer this...what happened to Roy when his athleticism faded a little?
Answer this, what will happen when Floyd is 36 ???
well in my post i stated that it wasn't benficial in the long run to only rely on athleticsm...that why he got starched once he slowed a bit...also his mental hunger probably wasn't the same either..but he clearly got hit by punches that wouldn't a have landed had he still been prime....Quote:

Yeah but roy got ko'd by guys that were over 180lbs. PBF might be able to take a punch at 147 but I wouldn't doubt he'll get knocked on his arse at 154.Quote:

It's not Roy's fault his reflexes slowed down.
And remember Mayweather said that 90 percent of "his" game is reflexes.
So without those reflexes Floyd would be done too. Reflexes escape with time, something Floyd will not be immortal to either.
that's unfair to say because roy started at 154, floyd might not even get that high..and floyd at 130 was too quick much like roy at 160 was too quick...if they both were 20...floyd would be 126-130,Roy would be154-160 so of course he'd hurt floyd...Trust me Roy Jones is my all time favorite and floyd is right behind him...but looking at they're styles if it were imaginable...given brain power, boxing skills, speed, cornermen, styles floyd would win...because he could effectively pressure Roy...and be quick enough to stay with him when he tries to evade...it wouldn't be a blowout by far on either side, but i think floyd would win...but since there's no real plausible way to even compare them at a resonable weight because they're so far apart...it's pointless...but Myweather if he continues on his path..he will be mentioned ahead of Roy Jones....think about this...if Floyd beats Hatton and Margarito...who else could he fight that would truly benefit his place in boxing history...nobody...so he really only needs two more fights and he could retire....Quote:
