yeah thats too bad about jesus man i had him winning up to that point too!
u all see him sporting the REX jersey for my BEARS?????????

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
Dawson looked great tonight up till that knockdown. He recovered well from it, I thought, and won the fight handily, against a top three LH, or least top 5 LH. Chad Dawson could very well be the future undisputed champ of the division, he better watch that posing and posturing stuff though, thats what will get him clocked. Boy can he box though.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
An observation on Jesus Chavez that I meant to bring up a while back when I first noticed this in an interview they did on him during the talk of MAB vs. Chavez.....
Has anyone else noticed the twitching/squinting of the eyes repetetively?
I don't recall seeing him do that years back, anyone else notice this?
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
I noticed this during the interview and I noticed it even more tonight especially as they waited for the opening bell to sound Chavez was doing it....

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
looks like a Terry Norris> granted he got up and won the fight but he never should have been down in the first place. against Tarver he wouldn't have gotten back up

Ah! shit!!!
Starr is in the house!!! can I get a woot-woot!! 8)
Anywho.... I'll repeat myself for you....
That was a solid punch Adamek landed and as I said before Adamek was up untill that fight was probably the best Light. Heavy in the div. right next to Hopkins & Tarver..... Hard puncher and a tough rugged fighter I said this prior to the fight.....
You're right at the moment he would loose to Hops & Tarver and you and I both know thats what boxings about making some noise if it means over matching on TV....
He'll probaly end up fighting the winner of Branco-Drews or the winner of Diaconu-Hoye.

Don't be such a drama queen. I said that I was impressed...I'm just noting what I view as chinks in his armor...so to speak.
Also...I've seen plenty of the youngin & you know that from the start I aint been sold on him as a whole. Wev'e had this little talk before & I stand by what I said the last time we hashed it out...in so many words or less...I like him...but I'm just not ready to get on the wagon just yet...
He's still just a kid with much to learn & he's riding a hype rollercoaster. He's just gone straight to the top & is about to hit the first decent of a rocky ride...should be interesting...but I aint screamin & throwing my hands up just yet.
Honestly though, neither he nor Adamek should be compared to or linked as being next to Jones & especially not Hopkins...I know you know better than that. Surely you don't believe that? :-[
I mean...sure...you can compare him to Tarver or Johnson...& I might lean in that direction, but not the other two names prior.
It's just to early in the game for that.

Seriously, this guy's handspeed is sick for a LHW. I wouldn't mind seeing him against Woods now. But I wouldn't want to put him in B-Hop or Tarver now.
:coolclick: Very well said...& that's about what I said & about how I feel...but for some reason tonight...the queens of drama (or as I likes to call em...the drama queens) are all gangin up on poor ole Wacky for his observations.
I'd love to see him in with Woods.
Hopkins would slaughter him...hand speed or not.
Tarver? Eh...it'd be a good fight...scarey at times...but I think he could take Tarver. Tarver has issues down the stretch...even though most commentators like to say that Dawson does...I totally don't see it.
Tonight he did...but he got clocked & he threw a hell of a lot of shots with an amazing connection percentage...the kid did good...& again...I never said that he didn't. He looked good...I just think that he needs to work on his defense & such.

:coolclick: Agreed 100% on the highlighted. That confidence shit will kill em everytime.
Also...YEP...the kid is fast & he can put some shots together with ease. Very very fluid with his jab to the set up.
Combinations just rolled out like melted butter.

:coolclick: Agreed....he should never have put himself in the position to even take a shot like that...not after he was pulling that lead. I think it's just a lack of in experience & he'll grow into his role...but I hate to think that he's gotta grow up so fast now...being the NEW & alla that mess.
That'll have to put a strain on him. Maybe Mayweather can turn him into something more as far as the defensive flaws & thought pattern goes. One thing no one has touched on...he didn't listen to a gotdam thingy dingy Mayweather said after the knockdown.
Mayweather told him to hold on & jab & not get into a slugfest more or less...& he did just the opposite.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
wacko with your comment I could almost think you're afraid Dawson may become another Vargas in a case of too much too soon?
Anyway Dawson has a lot of growing up to do, it almost looks like he wants to be Chris Eubank and Roy Jones all rolled up into one and it gets him clocked on occasion. And like I said he shouldn't have been standing there to get hit.
What I want to know is where his jab went after the first 6 rounds. After that he was leading with left hooks like he was Roy Jones and it was his lack of using his jab that got him dropped in the 10th. Lots of potential but those flaws better be wprked on because they are flaws that could cost him that title he just won against someone on talent he should beat easier.

Some guy I know that loves to be rumped in the bump by wild elephants eluded to the matter of Adamek probably being the best 175lber in the division next to Hopkins & Tarver.
Also, them tards over at ESPN (Atlas & Tessitore) can hardly speak for fear of choking on his bag & has said that he could give Jones a tuff & competitive fight. Showtime's bwoyz tonight almost made me spew my drink across the living room & onto the wide screen over their nonsensical banter.

Do you ever go to sleep you drunken bastard?! ;D Seriously, he's no B-hop and DAMN sure no RJJ, nor does he look to have the makings of one. But he is one of the best out there right now. Speaking of Jones, I sincerely hope that him and Hopkins do fight, I would much rather see that than B-hop vs Winky at 170, how bout you?

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
Well well, not the result I was expecting to see at all. From looking at Dawson I did think it might have been too much too soon for him to go for this title, but he did well from looking at the RBR, and deserves the plaudits. WTG Wack for the sterling coverage again....sorry I couldn't stay up with you, but guests are such hard work. :p

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
Very impressed with Bad Chad DAWSON! He is an awesome fighter. Granted he is a little rough around the edges,he fought possibly the best fighter in the division, certainly in the top 3 and put a beat down on him. He began to grow over confident when he got clocked, but that was him following Mayweather Snrs advice(Mayweather told him to go after Adamek),he should have just continued to box but
he has a great jab.
works head and body
can counter punch off the ropes and lead.
his hand speed is awesome!
Granted he is still only 24,and will continue to improve, even when he got knocked down,he showed great poise to survive, holding on and it also showed he is good at following his corners' instructions.Obviously he would get picked apart by B Hop NOW but he would still be no easy fight for Hopkins. No way. The handspeed, the jab and those ripping bodyshots were awesome! I've only seen him once before,he looked good but yesterday,he did it on a world stage. Stylistically too,as a southpaw who was originally right handed,he is a nightmare for anyone in the division as he has power! He should keep Mayweather senior too, they seem to have a good rapport and with more concentration, focus and drive, this kid is going places.
He should be given HUGE kudos for fighting a warrior in Adamek. ALOT of peeps though Adamek would be too much, too soon for Chad.Mick, you nailed this one!! You've been talking about this kid for ages!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
Diaz was such a dick....acting like he single-handidly made Chavez's knee tear. No class. Luckily he is in a division where it is going to take pretty much an armored tank to get completely on top.
Adamek completely surprised me at how much slower he is. And why did the announcers keep mentioning Glen Johnson.......and only mentioned Clinton Woods once??
-

Just remembed Paul Briggs is fighting tonite. I would lov to se a trilogy with Adamek. Would be one of the best and a great comeback for Adamek.

Agreed 100%. He's good & he's fast...but he's not what he's being blown up to be. I think that he can make some waves but not the splash that his afore mentioned predessors made. I've got some issues with several things...but if he'd just listen to his corner & follow instractuions...he could be something. I just don't see it happening.

Honestly...I want the Hopkins Wright fight to happen...but not at 170lbs or even 168lbs. I've wanted that fight for years at middleweight.
The catchweight is just suicide for Wright...especially seeing how effective Hopkins was against Tarver at 175lbs.
People can piss & moan & try to take apart the win over Tarver based on the fact that Tarver had to come down in weight...but anyone that saw that fight saw the technical brilliance & power of the Hopkins of old & no matter what...Tarver kicked the shit out of Roy Jones jr in all three of their bouts...& I hate saying that because I am a huge Jones fan.
Now...all that being said...if Wright were able to come up and dominate Hopkins in such a fashion as he did Trinidad...once again...I would be speechless, shocked, & as proud as a papa over a new born...just as I was on June the 10th, 2006.
We shall see...but again...I stick to my guns on the fact that this catchweight is just suicide for Wright.

While I agree with some of the things you said...totally disagree with the above high lighted.
He was not listening to Mayweather at all. He might have heard him...but he wasn't following instructions. He got over confident & stuck his neck out when he should have hammered him home like Floyd said. When he had Adamek hurt he let him off the hook.

Anywho...totally agree on the Johnson & Woods deal. Most commentators & fans rate Johnson higher than Woods based on the outcome of Johnson's match with Jones & his recent resurgence...even though Woods won the last bout.
I just don't get it. Johnson, IWO, is tuff as nails & would make the better fight.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
I agree on not listening to the corner. Mayweather told hi mto go out and hold and get his legs back and he went out there and tried to knock Adamek out in the first few seconds. That's gonna cost him one day.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Adamek vs Dawson.
It strangely reminds me of Jason Litzau whenever his corner would say to box smart he would try harder to knock his foe out. Strangely I think in a strange way Chad Dawson reminds me of Litzau. It was apparent in the Harding fight. Dan told him to box and he started throwing shots and get caught with huge right hooks(which didn't hurt him) and encouraged him to trade even more while letting Harding know he wasn't hurt.
One day he's going to fight someone who can punch hard and that macho style of his he'll get knocked out the same way. I hope that doesn't happen because I like him as a prospect and a fighter but his mental in the ring is going to be his downfall.

Dawson showed out...but he also showed weaknesses...one of those being that he doesn't fight with his mind but more his head. He made some critical errors in his defense & stuck his neck out there when he thought he had it in the bag...you just don't do that.
Another weakness? Maybe his chin. Even after the knockdown there were two or three times that I was seriously SERIOUSLY worried that an Adamek right was going to drop him. He did recover though...& that speaks bounds.
He's the champ now...so fight a lesser bout & then go for one of the other title holders...but not one of the oldies...because they are still a bit too oldies but goodies for someone as green as Dawson.
Again...impressed with him tonight...but he needs to fight smart for the duration.
I remember after the Harding fight I thought he was always a little open but I thought he was next in line for a title shot. Then everyone came down on him after the Harding fight. I was kind of perplexed by that.
Anyways, I recorded this on my grandpa's DVR and meant to watch it this morning but I ended up staying at a friends house. Guess I have to watch it next weekend. But I like Dawson. I also like Adamek. Wish I could have seen it. CC for the DRBR though.

Boone won.
The reason I even noted this was because I had a real sneaking suspicion that James Johnson would be in some real trouble. Boone is tricky as hell. Slick southpaw counter puncher who throws from all angles, at different distances. An impossible guy to get in rhythm against. This should be some vindication for Andre Ward.

You make some sense, and some things you said here on nonsense my man.
Tarver did NOT beat RJJ thre fuking times. He lost the first fight for sure, clearly fading down the strech and being out worked by Jones. Obviously he won the second big, with a freak punch. And the third fight wasn't even a fuking fight, only reason he won that is cus he was somewhat less scared of being KO'd than Jones, but still scared to be KO'd. Also I thought B-hop was yo favorite fighter man?! Now you are hoping that boring ass bitch Wright dominates him like he did Tito at 160?! Fuk that. B-hop and Jones all the way. Both kick ass and both should fight one another.

Opinions are like rectal caverns...their often full of shit...kinda like the majority of yours...but I can overlook your bias.
Look...I'm a Jones jr fan also...but all that flurrying bullshit that he was pullying at the end of the rounds doesn't cut the mustard. Tarver was in control of Jones for the better parts of the rounds. Sorry. I just don't agree with you here. At all...
Hopkins is my favorite...as is Wright...I'm simply more interested in Wright being able to cope with Hopkins & what game plan he uses.

Also I thought B-hop was yo favorite fighter man?! Now you are hoping that boring a** bitch Wright dominates him like he did Tito at 160?! Fuk that. B-hop and Jones all the way. Both kick a** and both should fight one another.
Whatever Wacko. I like ya, but you give up on your fighters way too easy. "Tarver kicked Roy's ass the first time"...."Taylor beat B-hop the second time". NONSENSE. When you believe shat like that, then that leads you to not have faith in your fighters later on, like in both the Hopkins vs Tarver AND RJJ vs Ajamu fights. You did not pick either to win. Its not cus your are stupid, well maybe it is ;), just playin, but its cus you lose faith in your fighters too easily. Realize that both Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins are Legends. Realize that Winky Wright is NOT. He's a very good fighter, a hall of famer probably, but he is no legend.

I don't give up on my fighters...there are just times that I don't think they can pull out all the stops & times that I do.
Jones did lose to Tarver & Hopkins did lose to Taylor. Neither one did enough when they needed to.
Wright is indeed a hall of famer & has as much of a shot at being a legend as Hopkins does. Just because you don't like the way a fighter fight does not make him any less than the other.
He beats Hopkins & I promise you...you'll be changing your tune. If he doesn't...he doesn't...

Wright is very good, but he will not be remembered long after he retires like Jones and Hopkins will. They were great great fighters, Wright isn't on their level and NEVER will be. He had a tuff fight with Sam Soliman. ;D ;)

Yeah...that's why, right now, he's considered as one of the best defensive fighters of the last 10-15 years.

Uh huh... just keep tellin yourself that people will still be talking about Wright 10-20 years later, but it won't come true. Duran will be remembered. Roy Jones will be remembered. Bernard Hopkins will be remembered. Oscar will be remembered even. But NOT Wright. People may briefly aknowledge him, but he has a small fanbase of truly hardcore boxing fans and drunken douchebags and thats about it. And even that is more than he deserves. Boring ass, feather fisted lil beotch that he is. ;D
