Cotto has nowhere near as may flaws as Judah and is rapidly improving.
Agree wholeheartedly. One thing Zab Judah is the furthest thing from being is well rounded. Cotto is a MUCH better all around fighter. When you have 4 losses to 4 different fighters with 4 distinctly different styles, that pretty much spells out what you are as a fighter: mediocre. Cotto will win decisively.

Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
I expect Coto dominates Judah by KO in the late rounds (may be 8 -10). However, Coto has to be careful with Judah in the first rounds because he is still fast and punch hard. But, I think Judah will not be able to handle Coto's strength...

I think they're both flawed fighters. Cotto has shown better against the opponents he's faced but he hasnt faced anyone on the level of the people Judah has lost to(except Baldomir) bad performances and going only by "losses"
The people Judah has lost to(except Baldomir) are a higher level then the people Cotto has fought for their respective weight classes. I guess you could compare Quintana to Spinks(but judah beat him in the rematch so should I count that one?)
But no Tszyu's or Mayweathers. So I think this fight will show what level Cotto is at, if he beats Judah then he's at the level(or shows he is) on or close to the level of a Tszyu or a Mayweather all depending on how he beats Judah. This is a very very pivotal fight for Cotto. If he beats Judah then nobody is going to question his opposition or say he beat washed up fighters and prospects who were taking a leap too soon(you havent heard this on the forum but I heard it every day from cotto haters). He beats Judah then there are no questions, Cotto's arrived and here to stay, but if he loses I don't think it will set him back any because everybody knows Judah is capable. But this is a fight that could launch Cotto UP THERE. As much as people will talk about Judah this is a fight for Cotto that will put him way way up there at the 147 tied with the winner of Margarito and Williams. Although the same can and will be said of Judah as much as people hate him. The winner of this fight will be launched, whether we like it or not. And it will be earned, so great respect to the winner of this fight and hopefully it will silence the haters on either side.
What I dont want, is an ending that people will be debating. I dont wnat Judah to be winning the fight easily and then Cotto land one punch that ends it for the night, because then the Cotto fans will say "Miguel was taking his time to catch Judah" and the Judah fans will say "Cotto got lucky he was getting exposed by Judah until that lucky punch, he' san overhyped such and such"
What I want to see is a clear victory by both of them. Even a close controversial decision would be good. What I dont want to see is an ending that leaves excuses either way.
You agree El Gamo?

LMFAO ! Cotto is going to beat this guy like a step child.. It will be chase chase chase for the first 3 or 4 rounds , then Zab will start to get sloppy and then Cotto will cash that judah check ! the moment Zab backs str8 up with his hands down , cotto will shuffle forward and smack Zab with the left hook and that’s all she wrote ! O0

Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Even though I had Judah ahead of Mayweather by the 6th I don't think he'll see it against Cotto. Quintana & Corley both southies didn't make it to the 6th but I could be a little biased, I'd like nothing more that to see Judah sparked in the 1st!! ;D
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
everyone here hates one of the two...
except for me
cotto is the fucking man but he can be hit and will be hit also he cant take the power judah has, he will get KTFO, but he will still be the man
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
This is a good fight for Cotto. Zab may be damaged goods but he still floats near the bottom ranks of the elite. If Cotto beats him convincingly that's great for Cotto and a death knell for Judah.
We all know that one of Zab's problems has been that he doesn't fight up to his potential all to often.
But what if he does when he faces Cotto - what if he's the Zab Judah many of us has said he could/should be?
Then Cotto will not be having an easy "stepping stone" walk in the garden.
If Zab comes in top form, then a loss for Cotto will be bad but not devastating.
A loss for Judah is devastating regardless of how well he fights.

How can you say that? Who has Cotto foughten that even comes close to comparing to any of the guys who have beaten Zab except maybe Baldomir, but even Baldomir's good chin and timing would give Cotto alot of problems IMO. Zab is way faster, and has foughten way way better competition, and he was labelled as the Mike Tyson of the smaller divisions. He is as quick as lighting and he hits hard. He is probably along with Roy Jones Jr. as gifted an athlete as boxing has ever seen. Unfortunately he has no focus... or he can't maintain it, but against fell glass-chin Cotto he may not have to.

Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Who did Ricky Hatton fight before Kostya that would make anyone think he even had a chance? No one, yet he won. And why? Because he was the better fighter. Out of the 4 people who beat Judah, Cotto only loses to one of them. And just think, in only a few months, the 4 losses from 4 different fighters will change to 5 losses to 5 different fighters ;D Hilarious.

No Sal. I'm actually a fan of both too. I know, I know we're a rare breed but I'm a little more Cotto fan than Zab. The reason being Cotto's commitment and focus and Zab's lack of both. I love Zab but he has let me down so that puts Cotto at the top of my list.
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Hatton may have a win against Tszyu on his record but he certainly isn't the better fighter.
That's like saying Kirkland Laing is a better fighter than Roberto Duran.
Cotto v Judah will be close

Who wins Judah v Cotto?
-
Re: Who wins Judah v Cotto?
I think Cotto by KO/stoppage but he'll after get up off the canvas to do it

Re: Who wins Judah v Cotto?
I think Cotto in a 12 round decision.
I'm rooting for Supa Judah though 8)

Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Why is everyone saying Zab has no focus. He lost 4 fights and only 1 was do to him losing focus. Kostya simply caught him with a Beautiful shot. Spinx 1 was a close fight. Mayweather simply TOOK his FOCUS with Superior skill and being a better fighter. He lost his focus against 1 fighter and that is Baldo. ZAB WINS.
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Good Poin but I also think Baldi took that win because of his incredible chin

Did you watch the Rafael Pineda fight?

Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
The only thing is on my mind before this fight in June is the press conference Cotto has never face a punk like Judah or PBF in press conderence even Paulie wasn't brave enough to try to stare down Cotto but zab is a punk and I have a gut feeling thta in those stare down in the press conference between Zab and Cotto there's going to be sparks a la Barrera - Morales
-
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
I think one interesting aspect of the fight that hasn't been discussed is the eyebrows. Miguel plucks to absolute perfection while Judah....well I don't think Judah was even born with eyebrows. Interesting matchup indeed.

Yeah Zab was really focused when he faught Baldomir, oh and that low blow followed by rabbit punch to Mayweather was a really composed piece of skill. Fuckin bollocks. How can Mayweather TAKE your focus? Is he an excorcist or a soul collector? A focused fighter treats every opponent with the same respect, no excuses.

Zab will DEFINITELY try to get inside Cotto's head, figuring that he has a better chance of winning if he succeeds in rattling Miguel. Personally, I don't think it's going to work.

I know but the fact that Zab is gonna push Cotto ot left hook him before the fight I know this is going to happen is crazy becaus eo fthe fact Cotto is not punk but he won't no one do something like that to him since he is always respecful towards his opponents in press conference.

Name two press conferences where Zab acted like a fucking ass hole. Only one I can think of was Baldomir.

COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
I dont believe this is a clear cut fight for Cotto, even though he starts as favourite as Judah can bang and has great speed as we know.
I think Cotto will get tested early and often with the fast, hard uppercut Zab can throw - will miguel's chin take him into the later rounds? where his chances of a KO increase ?
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
If Cotto takes a round or two to size up Judah's speed and left hand, he should be able to begin breaking him down in the middle rounds with his relentless body attack. I see Cotto winning by 9th round TKO.

Do you think Cotto will come in lighter as he normally does against speedsters?
I actually think he should come in full-blooded and powerful, to get Zab by KO as it has been done before.
Because if Miguel opts to box he could lose too many rounds - Zab was outboxing Mayweather for spells...
I think, cut down the ring, relentless body attack is the key.
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
All Cotto has to do is be there when the 8th round comes along
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
This is a bad fight for Cotto. Judah's back is against the wall. He loses. His career is pretty much over. And he knows it. The most dangerous man, is a desperate man. Cuz he ain't got shit to lose. Judah is a desperate man. I'm starting to lean towards him in this fight.

yeh Cotto does look open for it and Zab throws a real nice one occasionally but he wouldn't be in there if his handlers didn't think it was a sure bet.
Judah nearly lost to Corley, Pineda and did lose to Baldomir. Cotto is a level above those guys, he stopped Corley and Quintana (both southpaws) albeit a dubious stoppage against Corley.
If you asked me what two words best describe Cotto I would say preasure and power, the simple fact is Judah can't handle either!

Completely agree here! Judah will be desperate and he knows if he loses his career is totally down the toilet. Would not surprise if Cotto got nailed early!!
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
I don't think Judah hits nearly as hard as he gets credit for. I really can't see Cotto losing this one. I think the first couple of mean shots Cotto throws, Zab loses his desire to win. He won't land a bomb on Cotto cause he will be scared and going backward. It will be short unless Zab runs.
I know Zab gave PBF some trouble for a couple rounds, but Zab wasn't intimidated by lil Floyds power. He will be by Cotto's. I just don't think Zab is tough enough. He's gonna meltdown after a few hard body shots.
-
Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
Is Cotto as big and durable as Baldy though?
Im sure Cotto has more firepower - but is he as hardy as the tough Argentinian?

I see a Cotto KO within 5rds...you're giving Judah too much credit.

Re: COTTO V JUDAH - who wins and how ?
alright judah hits hard and he hits fast..... cottos chin sucks............. but then zab chin sucks ........... kostya knocked his head lose........ but cotta is not kostya kostya was a masterful boxer who waited out the perfect shot cotto not smart ebough to beat judah unless he lands a magical punch .......... i say zab by tko ........... beacasue we all know the tough judah will come that night not the "im the shit" judah

I agree with you bro Judah's got his back against the wall, if he loses he's done!
I wouldn't be surprised to see Cotto hit the canvas a couple of times!
I still feel Cotto breaks Judah down & wins a close decision with Judah only just hanging on though.
