It is a lot of hype regarding Pavlik. And he's stupid... His best bet is to keep him away and to rack up points. As you can see in Miranda's other fights no body bullies him for long. Now Pavlik is no ghost, I've seen him get hit with shots that a good fighter shouldn't get hit with, and if he's that way with Miranda then it's going to be a short night. We'll have to wait and see.

We all saw what happened to Green, you hang with Miranda and you have two options, 1. change your mind and box on the back foot or, 2. Get knocked out.In retrospect the man with the right style to beat Mirnada was Abraham, and even he struggled. If Pavlik decides to come forward like he say he is, he gets kncoked out. If h eboxes he has a miniscule chance of a decision win.

I think i read in boxing news magazine that Vernon Forrest vs Carlos Baldomir was on this card too but according to boxrec it isn't.

I haven't had internet for a few weeks because i have moved house so i'm a bit behind news wise. Can anyone shed any light for me? Cheers.

Would love to see that happen, Miranda isnt going to backup, thats a given. It may come down to who lands the first power shot. Pavlik definately has the power to bang with him, I cant wait for this fight.

Pavliks level of opposition as a Professional upto this point has been poor- his record is just padded.
Christ he beat old Bronco McKart 3 fights ago...WTF?

Either Pavliks management are super confident or just cashing in on him now.

I think Miranda will take him to the deep and drown him.

Bullying Miranda is a big mistake

Neither of them are perfect, but look at a lot of guys such as Roy Jones, Jermaine Tailor, and these guys had some obvious problems. Anyways it should be good fight, I wouldn't say that Pavlik bullying him is smart, but it will make for an interesting fight. Hopefully it will be a long one...

Pavlik is the more patient fighter so there will be no bullying by him. But if there is and Miranda gets behind look for the Columbian to strat playing cheap.

Speaking of prejudiced, i am surprised Larry Merchant hasnt been fired for some of his comments in the past. Maybe he has a couple Columbian racial slurs saved up for this fight because he knows he is on his way down that road.

I like Miranda in this fight. Havent seen enough of either fighter to make a clean cut call, but I dont think any of us have really. These guys are both pretty much untested. Besides Allan Green, there are no names on either's resume as far as I understand it, but I felt Miranda was pretty dominant in that fight.

Kelly Pavlik needs to not just do his roadwork and be in the best shape of his life stamina and endurance-speaking (because Miranda is a nonstop workhorse who's gonna be comin at you all night long), but he also better come with his dancing shoes on and fight smart. His jab is gonna be more important in this fight than it ever has been and he needs to work off it and not look for the big one punch haymaker. Work off the jab, stick, move and throw punches in bunches and combinations. It was in combinations (and not even extremely bunchy ones) that allowed Green to score several heavy blows on Edison in their meeting, the most important of which, i believe was Green's left hook. Pavlik should stick to jabbing his way to openings, throwing his combinations in bursts of 3-5 punches and then moving out of Miranda's bull charging range, swooping looping wild range of destructive counter punches; paying specific attention to the big overhand right that he loves to over use.

And when he moves out, Kelly should not be just moving straight back; he does this, Miranda will just double his effort and close the distance on him; he will charge him and throw wildly (and K.P. can't afford to be hit by any of E.M.'s wild punches as he has 1-punch KO power in either hand). When he moves out, Pavlik should be stepping out and to an angle or stepping out and circling - mainly circling to the right to avoid that Miranda-Special. From there he should work a quick combination to the body and come up to the head before moving out again (at an angle) and circling right. To win this fight, I think he's gotta show Edison Miranda angles all night long; jabs, angles and counter combinations, movement and more jabs. Based on what I have seen of Pavlik on tape (and that's just what I have seen; I'm not an expert analyst nor have I watched all of the guys bouts), he has to fight the perfect fight more or less. With a dude like E.M. you can't afford to make too many mistakes or they will be shaking you to wake you up right before they raise his hand. Pavlik can make it happen, but like I said he has to MAKE it happen, and it's not gonna be easy.

Miranda Edison by 11th round stoppage.

I agree here JTRock Miranda has by far the better quality of opposition....
I would though take off Zertuche and put Zuniga theres. IMO a more prominent name then Zertuche...
By the way Zuniga droped Pavlik and gave Pavliks fits early in the fight... Which I saw and yes Pavlik did win the fight but since then hes showed me he can be beat by someone whose applied smart pressure to him. Zertuche and Zuniga just rushed in thats why Pavlik tagged them. If Miranda can apply his usual pressure and do it smart he will beat Pavlik.....

14 more hrs, I cant take the suspense!!! I've been up since 630 thinking about this fight.

It's not exactly hard to be right when you post about 1 boxer only. Just playin with ya, I knew Pavlik had the skills just didn't know if he had the gall to do it.
