Too bad they didn't do something like this for Lewis-Tyson, although it was probably impossible because of the HBO-Showtime issue.
I'm trying to think of other fights I would've liked to seen this type of show for.
Morales-Barrera
DLH-Tito
DLH-Vargas
Those are a couple that come to mind. You need there to be some genuine dislike between the fighters for it to be interesting.
LOL..Dont worry bout it bro ..Im actually giving it a re- run right now..Its jus so daymn entertaining!
Lol..Gota say though..For all the shit that the mayweather's speak..I love the part in the second episode when roger is talking bout how his son will be the next great champion..
and until then..FLoyd will be champion..lol
His kid comes up and hes like..Why you not wana fight? you want me to hold you? YOU SPOSED TO BE A CHAMP MAN! Oh my god! Lol..Dont fail to put a grin on my face...
In all fairness he's probably right.. It'd be fun to see what the younger mayweathers turn out to be..
Its a shame that roy jones jr wont let his children box cos i can imagine they would be future greats..
So i guess we'll have to settle for the mayweathers children etc :P

Yeah! it was but it was ALL worth it. ;)
This year so far I've attended Marquez vs. Vasquez, Katsidis vs. Guzman (I'm scheduled to attend) and if the fight comes off and with Gods will I would like to attend JMM vs. Pac II.
I got no complaints.

One thing I noticed last night, at one point the narrator says that DLH will be departing for Vegas in about a week, then at another point he says he's flying to LA. Which one is it?
I assumed DLH would be finishing up his training in LA.

oscar like most big time fighters of his level tend to go on leno like the week before fight. to help promote it obviously and then they come back a week after and talk about their WIN again.
this is something TITO TRINIDAD could never do because of the no ingles barrier, but guess what biotchez my man COTTO!!!!!!!!!!!! now thats another story! im still waiting for pac man to be on leno too lol that would be classic! hollaaaaaar

Thanks SweetPea. CC
I'm guessing mosley was already on , but I just found out oscar will be on the Tonight Show April 30 if anyone is interested. I remember watching Oscar on the Tonight Show before he fought Mayorga. I was kind of annoyed cause Dr. Phil was also on and he and Oscar got along well. I can't stand Dr. Phil.
For some reason I always like seeing boxers on nationally televised shows before a big fight, i think it adds to the excitement.

From fightnews.
Former longtime Oscar De La Hoya trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. has left the camp of his son Floyd Mayweather Jr. and says he will not be involved when Floyd Jr. faces De La Hoya in a May 5 PPV superfight. "We're back to square one," Floyd Sr. told the Grand Rapid Press. "That's where we're at, we're back at the beginning. I do want to get back together with Little Floyd. I do want to get to know my grandkids. But if he doesn't want it to happen, so it will be." The last straw was comments made by Floyd Jr. on an HBO fight preview telecast criticizing the way Floyd Sr. brought him up. "I didn't do anything to Floyd except care," the elder Mayweather told the paper. "And when you get right down to it, he didn't do anything for me. Everything I've got, I got from De La Hoya."

I doubt that's true. Because they've seen all the episodes as this whole series was being filmed in videos before then. I very much doubt the very first time Floyd Sr. saw the second episode was last Sunday ::**
And it doesn't sound like anything Floyd Sr would say. The LAST thing he would ever say is that "I got it from Oscar" does that sound like Floyd Sr. at all ???

That's now how the show is filmed. The only old footage is the stuff from the press tour. Everything else is from the past week or so before the episode. The final "cut" of each episode isn't finalized until about 24 hours before it actually airs.

Uuuummmm!!!
Thats VERY much Floyd Sr. I guess you haven't been up to date with your boxing.
Let me go look for the FLoyd Sr. interview where he say something similar to this about him having/living how he lives because of ODLH.
Be right back... :)

Mayweather/De la hoya 24/7 bias??
before i go into the message can someone post the newest episodes on here?
but anyway, On the episodes i have seen, it seems that the show has ha bias towards De la hoya. For example, after they show a long workout sequence of De la Hoya training, they show Mayweather getting his hair cut, and going to the club. I don't know maybe i'm looking to hard into it. It seems like HBO is trying to make it look like Mayweather is not getting ready for this fight as much as De la hoya.
Anyone else see this??
-
Re: Mayweather/De la hoya 24/7 bias??
Nope. I got the opposite impression, that Floyd was training harder. ???
-
Re: Mayweather/De la hoya 24/7 bias??
Not at all. I think it actually showed both guys in a positive light.

Loving ODLH hand speed on the speed bag 8)
Loving the way they are working....
Question: Does PBF ONLY know how to jump rope and that piddy padda shit! he does with Roger on the mitts?
In all the episodes I've seen, thats all they show him doing. Occasionally something else but for the most part hes working the mitts and jumping rope?

Apparently PBF does NOT allow cameras to be on during ANY of his sparrings. ???
When he was about to start the cameras had to be off, when they came back in after the sparring was over PBFs shirt was full of blood and they guys nose was bleeding. ::**
Thats like me telling you I'm gonna show you a magic trick we start and then I tell you OK go outside of the room and I'll tell you when you can walk back in. Then you walk back in and tadda! magic :thankyouthankyou:
Anyway! they have shown the occaisional hitting the speed bag and or, doing sit ups but even then almost everytime I see a PBF training video it's always him hitting the mitts.

Honestly I can understand that. I know a lot of trainers, including Freddie Roach with Pac man oddly enough, don't let anyone see their sparring. Tyson sparred publicly for the first time preparing for the Douglas fight and got dropped. And after the whole Spadafora thing I can understand.
This is fucken insane I can't wait for this fight.

Re: ODLH vs. PBF (24/7) *Let's Talk about it here* (Episodes Included)
As far as Floyd's sparring go's, the boy has to be doing something right or he wouldnt be #1 PFP in the world.. I am fine with not seeing his sparring. We all know he is probably the hardest working most prepared fighter physically and mentally in the game today... you can knock PBF the man but anyone who questions his work ethic and dedication to preperation, they gotta have rocks in there head ;)

Re: ODLH vs. PBF (24/7) *Let's Talk about it here* (Episodes Included)
Everybody is saying floyd is gonna win this one and they are probably right about that. but two things can make a huge difference here. The weight and Freddy roach. Oscar has had problems with conditioning and fighting all three minutes of all 12, that won't be a factor here. I think were gonna see a fairly explosive oscar on saturday

Why would those things all of a sudden not be a factor here? Do we know for a fact that he's training harder or better for this fight than any of his previous fights?
I think Oscar is in great shape for this fight, but I don't see why his stamina will all of a sudden be better at age 34 than it was in his 20s.

I think roach's strong point is conditioning (just look at pacquiao)
I'm basically realying on the fact that Roach is pushing oscar harder then ever and getting him in to the best shape he can possibly be in
and no I can't say for sure that he is training any harder for this then he has in the past, but It certainly looks pretty intense in his camp on 24/7
bottom line, nobody really knows anything for sure. everything I said is just my shot in the dark guess at whats going on and what is going to happen.

Oscar breaking camp early to go home to his wife(for her birthday which was sweet to do) But we all know the "brownie" points Oscar was looking for ;)
Floyd goes to the club at nights but comes home and runs at 1 AM and trains at an entense speed even for media day in which Oscar plays around with his wife and cuts back on the training and saying its good to take a break. While Floyd trains at one speed.. turbo at all times of day and/or night no matter the occassion.
I don't thinki any fighter out there trains harder then Floyd Mayweather with his added deducation.
And the whole series is panning Oscar to be the good guy, hero figure but at the same time its showing Floyd as the guy who's training harder.
Least thats my opinion.

Re: ODLH vs. PBF (24/7) *Let's Talk about it here* (Episodes Included)
Also when they showed Schaffer & ODLH talking about the ticket demand of the fight by celebritys and all that. (By the way ODLH has the same phone as I do in his office, I saw him on it and I was like WTF that looks like my phone and it was the phones sick man you can upload pictures & music to it so when someone calls you their pic appears and lets say their fav. song is 2 Pacs I get around you can upload it and that will be their ring tone 8) )
Anyway! I liked how he picked up is cell phone and started calling his friends the 1st one he called was Michael J. Fox (who like Freddy has parkinsons), he then called Matthe McCougnhey and then he calls George Lopez 8) George was also ringisde for ODLH vs. Mayorga....
8)
