Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
shit I missed the finish
Nice left hook to get the first knockdown
are they gonna replay or it what
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Good showing against a game opponent, good step up for Anthony. Now the main event Lamont, I wonder if it was a big brother gets the main event thing. Lol alot of people think Anthony is the better prospect.
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
pretty good performance considering the other guy wasn't bad and was a nuisance more than anything

Agreed on selling the punches...This guy is pretty damn good for less then a weeks notice...Giving some veteran dirty fighting in there....Must have read
Hopkins/Cassamayor handbook :D
Very crafty...really thought of A.sanchez but those two could write a almanac on "unique & Crafty"
Are you trying to imply that Hopkins and Casamayor are dirty fighters?
If the glove dont fit,you must acquit! Hopkins is a tactical ring General!
I want to throw my P.OF S crap top over the balcony..

I would agree for the most part, he's a bit smoother, but Anthony seems like he clearly has more power

Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Maybe I am a bit too harsh but I agree with Farhood....Anthony Peterson is not ready to hang with the top tier of the LW division just yet....

He won. But he needs to find another career. He just doesn't seem to like boxing. He just goes through the motions.

I agree. Guerrero is a way better fighter than the chinless Litzau
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Sounds like Viloria
Mesquita's got a hell of a staredown
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Well, I have been saying Litzau will get ktfo several times this year, so I guess he'll start out proving me right. He'll get sparked out within 6 by Guerrero.
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Pretty round for Lamont, almost perfect.
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
I am trying to figure out what is more annoying about the Petersons...the Huh,,Huh,,or the stupid hand gestures from the corner?
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Lamont's got the better jab of the two Petersons
Mesquita doesn't look like that much so far, he does work hard at trying to look intimidating

Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Mesquita's a funny guy ;D
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
;D Did he just rub Petersons head
He did complain about a perfectly legal left hook to the body but I can't help but like him
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Mesquita looks to the ref when he gets a hard shot I've noticed.
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Mesquita doesn't seem to take it that well to the body
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Look at the Ears on Mesquita Man, Damn :o
Oh finally a ring card girlie.
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
I like the way Mesquita commits to the end of the round staredown

-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Ohhh,here we go.Going for a cintron award!!!
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
I chuckled for some reason when reading a quote from Mesquita's last bout:
"Pakau was down in rounds three and six. Referee Reiss kneed Mesquita in stopping the bout, sending him writhing on the floor, with a bad charlie horse"
So dramatic sounding!hehe

Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Disappointing effort from Mesquita. For some reason I'm not surprise. At 35 it don't look like there's much of a future for him
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Zahir Raheem KO 1. :o
WTF? He caught the guy with a hook and that was it. :o

I expected more from him...Not even a win but to give Peterson a test at least....Some pressure....His own corner was telling him and he just ignored it...WTF was the switching?....
At the end of the night I was not impressed with either Peterson brother or Green....They all need to work on some things before getting in with ANY of the names they called out....
I don't know what was going through Anthony Petersons mind....Calling out Kastidis...Diaz.....He would
be short work by both IMO
-
Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
I would take Anthony over Katsidis personally without much hesitation. Katsidis has done nothing really, the guy's exciting but that doesn't mean he's that good of a fighter. I mean he really has not had to take a hard route to the top at all, Graham Earl, Amonsot, usually guys have to fight much better fighters to get a title shot than that.
Not that Peterson has fought very good guys at all but he's not getting a title shot either or being hyped up like Katsidis. I just think he's a better fighter personally.

Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Juan Diaz on the other hand, no.

Here is the post fight interview with Allan Green, at the end Teddy calls him on the looking down.
Someone had mentioned Jermain Taylor doing the same thing, JT's dosent look down or away, he touches his forehead and moves his upperbody. like it is a timing and rythm mechanism for him.. Green was just not focused and his tick is more of a detrimental distraction for him :-\

Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
Hell is Allan Green ever not sick ;D
F***'s sake, he should just retire and go live at an assisted living home.
Although it seems like just a bit of a coincidence that the last time he really felt healthy was the Codrington fight.
At least though he acknowledges that the looking down is a bad habit and something he needs to correct.
Anybody notice him doing that before the Miranda fight, maybe he was doing it and I just didn't notice it.

Well at least it wasn't "I hurt my hand" ::**
I really think it's doubts. He looked like he was over thinking everything and I still cant get over him touching and giving Williams Congrats after every round and during some.Ok,He's a nice guy and it could be good sportsman ship but come on!
Williams was made to look alot better than he Is. That rainman twitching s!!!! will catch up to Green if He does not get his mind right.

Re: *Nice night of boxing Friday: Allan Green, Peterson brothers*
I have yet to see any of the fights, which probably watch them later but are there any Peterson fans out there? I have to admit,I have to followed their careerss at all and I'm not a big fan of Green at all but he has power.

Pretty much looked like shit to me ;D Lazy as all hell, sluggish, totally lacking in any kind of motivation, ambition, etc.
But yeah besides that I agree with you on Green.
I don't really dislike the guy, I did at one point but not really anymore, he's fairly exciting, he's fought some decent guys, but I've always thought he was a bit overrated. He doesn't have very good defense, never has, not very good footwork (and I'm not even talking about the looking down thing) and he doesn't seem to have the greatest chin which is not a good combination. He's pretty good offensively though but I don't think he's one of the elite at 168.
The looking down thing is just inexplicable though. He's got to fix that, even if he does though I'm not sure he's a top guy.
