Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 9:
Martinez still looks like the hunter waiting to pounce. Cagey opening to this round, jab from Munroe first landing shot after 40 seconds. Martinez has to do something here, as he's losing this title. Jab and hook from Munroe, gentle but still landing. It hasn't been fireworks so far, but entertaining. Body shot from Martinez, then a hook up top blocked. Munroe moves out of range of a shot, then a hook. Good straight left from Munroe, but he misses with three or four jabs. Martinez needs to throw to retain his title. Two body shots form Martinez, but Munroe spins out and returns hooks of his own.
Nothing happened much in that one.
89-84.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 10:
Frank Maloney has Munroe three rounds up. Martinez hasn't been at the races tonight. Martinez comes forward with a body shot. They trade, but Martinez goes to the body. Munroe spins out, and goes to the body, then some short hooks. Right lands well for Munroe, and all Martinez can returne is a right to the bdoy. Three Munroe body shots. lEft hook from Munroe, and Martinez is lost in there. He doesn't know what to do. Munroe is flurrying to the body, and short hooks upstairs, and Munroe bossing it. two more Munroe hooks land. Martinez to the body, but not looking as powerful. Superb period for Munroe. Munroe is being made to miss a little by Martinez, who isn't landing anything back, so all well. They're circling each other here. Martinez needs the KO in my book.
Munroe's round.
99-93

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 11:
Martinez has Rendall on the run, but can't land that much. Noithing landed in first 30 sconds, then a jab straight left from Munroe. Left hook from Martinez lands, but Munroe walks on with more body shots and short uppercuts. Two left hooks and body shot. Martinez spins out and gets away from Munroe's shots now. Martinez is losing his title here to the 11/2 underdog. Bpdy shot from Martinez bu a left hook return from Munroe. Munroe is a little more cagey, but then lands a body shot and two hooks up top. Munroe coming out of the corner with jabs, and Martinez is back on the ropes again. Not much thrown, but keeping Martinez from landing his own big shots.
Munroe's round again. Martinez might be a one-round wonder against Dunne.
109-102

And for Judah-Mosely and Pac-JMM where $100 will be coming out your ass pocket, I'll be tucked up on my couch sipping sweet hot tea with a couple of digestive biscuits not paying a penny ;)

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 12:
Frank Maloney took over the pep talk for that last round. His afvice "Keep your f***ing hands up." MArtinez with three body shots, and another, and Munroe is keeping a tight guard and leaning on. Body shots from Martinez, and a hook up top but partially blocked. Munroe circling and staying away, then two short left hooks. Martinez circling, and still can't get close enough. Martinez comes forward with a body shot, but takes three pitter-patter shots from Munroe. STraight right from Martinez, then a body shot. Body shot and huge left hook from Martinez rattles Munroe, who is clinching and leaning on. 20 seconds. Left hook from Munroe. Last gasp saloon for Martinez. Big right, but Munroe stays erect. And gets off to another corner.
The Nottingham venue erupts...they certainly believe Munroe will be the new European Champion!!!!
Martinez landed more in that last round than any other, but still
118-112 to Munroe on my card.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
The judges have it:
115-113, 114-114, 115-113. Munroe wins it by MD.....how on earth did those judges have it so close. Munroe was so nearly robbed by dodgy judging in there, but he's scraped the judges card, and he won't care about the scores now the gold's around his waist.
-
Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
I can't believe how easily SOME people here were quick to jump on Kiko....
I wont mention names as to not offend anyone but some people had
Kiko vs. Molitor, Kiko vs. De Leon etc. etc. etc. as potential matchups and fights they wanted to see.....
Funny stuff.... ;D

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Rendall Munroe said after the fight: "Fantastic. It's all down to the fans who came up from Leicester. It was grrrreat! I got told by Maloney and Mikey and I followed the gameplan. I did all I was told to do, and its the guys from outside the ring. I've been sparring with Jason Booth and Carl Johanneson. With the man here Maloney, I'm out to prove myself. I'll be back on the bins next week, and a shout to my driver Petey!"
And to answer your question VD, Dunne does indeed seem to have had a dreadful night when he lost the strap!

Mick....it is good to see that our group of moderators has kept an unbiased distance from this one and remain balanced and fair in their assessment.
Watching the previews on Setanta now, having just watched Haye beating Mormeck in the build up. Coverage begins in about an hour or so, and Lee is gonna do an RBR of Paul Smith v Cello Renda, and then we're on to the big hitters with Carl Johanneson v Kevin Mitchell and the big boys.....that David wossname and Andy Maccaroni. Or summat like that.
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
I'm not a huge fan of either fighter but am REALLLLY excited about this fight. 2 monster punchers,I just feel Haye has faced, beaten the better fighters and punch for punch has more power. The longer it goes, the more of a chance Enzo has,but whoever wins,I don't mind,as long as it's an exciting fight!
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
Hey Rhun I'm watching the previews myself, it's currently Enzo v Braithwaite ;D.
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
Okay Paul Smith v Cello Renda is set to start in 5-10 mins for the vacant English belt.
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
Okay Rnd 1:
Smith gets caught with a few shots early on, good body shot from Renda, Smith caught with left hook, good right body shot from Smith, great combo from Renda landing a jab and a right and clinches the round.
10-9 Renda
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
Rnd 2:
Good right from Smith but starting to mark up now, not much action and lots of grappling, Paul trying to land the jab and Renda cut on the right eye, Paul gets through with right hand, left hook combo, I give that to Smith.
19-19
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
Rnd 3:
Paul gets through with a good right and Renda comes back with good body shots and pressures Smith to the ropes, good jab from Smith landed, Renda going for head shots and catches him with a right, body shot from Smith in the closing exchange. 10-10 even
29-29 all square

Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
Good work till the site started getting grouchy....hopefully it isn't an indication of what is to come. However, we've got a bit of a gap of about an hour now until Johanneson v Mitchell while Setanta fill the gaps with memories about the British fights of times gone by, and interviews with folks like Amir Khan.
Anyhow, I'm gonna leave it be for a while now, and be back shortly when we start getting close to some more live action.
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR
If the site starts to lag too badly and you can't type it out, what i do is get my notepad out on the start feature of my computer, and type the RBR there and when i can get a chance to reply on Saddo's again. I just copy and paste all the stuff i typed out on the notepad, i had to do that when the site was badly lagging when i done Jones vs Tito RBR.

Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR - LIVE NOW
OK guys...the coverage starts here. Last night we saw the puncher (Martinez) beaten by the boxer for the evening (Munroe), but tonight there's not going to be so much of that, as we have four bangers coming together....and I don't mean half a pack of sausages.
Johanneson v Mitchell is up next, unifying the British and Commonwealth titles, and has been eagerly anticipated for months, even before the orginal clash had to be cancelled at the tail end of last year. May as well flip a coin, as this is a tough one to call....but maybe Johanneson will let us really see the quality of Mitchell's chin.
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR - LIVE NOW
Kevin Mitchell's entrance to the ring is to some truly godawful music, and he's bouncing confidently, and has a good look around the arena as he enters the ring. Mitchell waves at the fans ringside....who're giving him a good welcome.
A few boos as Johanneson is announced, and he's also coming in to some rubbish dance music. No looking around and drinking in the atmosphere. He's straight into the ring and ready to rumble. I'd be surprised if this goes the distance...then again I was surprised last night too.
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR - LIVE NOW
Carl Johanneson always looks nervous before a fight, but I think that is just a part of him, and how he normally looks. Quiet lad, but a banger. Mitchell looking a little more nervous as they go in for the first face off. This one has a few sparks going already.
Round 1:
Swapping jabs, then Johanneson gives Mitchell a shove off balance. Good combos early onfrom Mitchell, and he has Johanneson covering up. Body shots doing good business for Mitchell, and Johanneson gets caught on the way in with a jab. Left hook from Johanneson, but Mitchell has started early and is working the body hard. Good left from Johanneson again, but is still taking sharp shots from Mitchell. Body shots are the key for Mitchell early on here. Mitchell looks very sharp. Big left hook from Johanneson. Mitchell looking up top a little more, but only finding the guard. More body shots, but Johanneson not loking too bothered.
10-9 Mitchell
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR - LIVE NOW
Round 2:
Good start from Mitchell, but is taking a few hard lefts there. Looks like Johanneson has a small cut on the right eye. Johanneson with a jab straight, but takes a few shots on the way out. Good right from Johanneson, and hes punching more now. Mitchell is working hard, but not getting through up top, then going to the body well. Johanneson still coming forward. Left from Johanneson and right from Mitchell. Nice left right from Johanneson, but then a body shot from Mitchell looking good. Another Johanneson left hook gets througjh, but he's not working enough so far. Maybe waiting for Mitchell to tire out hitting his guard. Nice left from Mitchell as Johanneson opened his guard. Left from Johanneson. Left from Mitchell as Johanneson comes forward. Two jabs and right from Johanneson. Rigth from Mitchell and a body shot. Johanneson with a left, and a bit of a stare on the bell.
Mitchell's workrate getting him this session too.
20-18
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR - LIVE NOW
Round 3:
Frank Maloney in Johanneson's corner seems a little worried. Mitchell jabbing well here, then Johanneson missing badly. Left hook lands from Mithcell. Johanneson with a left then a big right hand, and Mitchell sidesteps. Mitchell is working away at Johanneson, with lots of body shots, and hitting the target more upstairs. Johanneson with a left that pushes Mitchell on the ropes, but Mitchell coming back firing with body shots, and a fantastic right overhandshot. Johanneson missing wildly a litle, but then pins Mithcell in the corner, with two body shots. Mitchell's jab looks good. Body shot from Johanneson puits Mitchell on the ropes, but Mitchell fights out of there. Fierce body shots from Mitchell, and he's looking for uppercuts,. Johanneson with a body shot. Johanneson's face is reddening, and he's not had the best of it so far.
30-27 Mitchell
-
Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli - Cruiserweight Title Unification RBR - LIVE NOW
Man, there's a really annoying woman shouting Mitchell on at ringside, sounds like a foghorn.
Round 4:
Johanneson looking to lead with the jab more here. Landing two or three. Good straight right from Mitchell, and a second. Left from Johanneson, but Mitchell is flurrying like a dream here. Big left as Mitchell came in. A right hook and a left. Then body shots and a left hook from Mitchell. Mitchell's mouthguard comes out....accidental??? Mitchell takes a breather. Johannson with the jabs and a left hook. Mitchell not working so much now. Too much too early? Another good left hand from Johanneson, but Mitchell with a nice uppercuit landing tooo. Two straight shots and an uppercut from Mitchell. Right hook and uppercut from Johanneson, and a body shot. Mitchell lands a body shot, but giving time for Johanneson to cover up top. Two hard body shots, and a ringing right hand hook on the bell from Johanneson.
Johanneson takes that one for me. Much better.
39-37
