They were actually trying to insinuate that Amir Khan's chin has got better ? how in the world does your chin improve ? sure you can do neck exercises, but a weak chin is a weak chin. And nothing can change that.
I do think however it was a solid performance, Amir Khan kept his composure. He also had decent stamina, and a better defense. And i liked the way he would put his man in check when Andriy Kotelnik would try and take over.
Overall he has improved and i think his boxing brain, has improved quite alot which is the most impressive thing to me. I do think Andriy Kotelnik fought bravely in the later rounds, and i had it 9-3 or 8-4 for Amir Khan.
I thought Andriy Kotelnik come on well in the later rounds, which i expected him to do. I still think if Amir Khan come's up against a puncher he will be in trouble though, remember Andriy Kotelnik isn't a big puncher. And he was able to land quite well in the later rounds, and in my head im just wondering if he was in with a harder puncher, would he had survived ?
I don't think so but overall a solid performance from Amir Khan, over a solid opponent. But im still nowhere near sold on Amir Khan, but for now let him enjoy his moment and im happy for him he won a world title.
This is a good unbias look at the fight. Yes Khan hasn't really fought top quality opponents, but this is a right step in the direction. I also had it 8-4.
I would like to see him fight Bradley or Maidana next.

WHAT!?!?! has the power to knock Margarito out!?!?! that is absurd. Khan did these pitter patter combos all night. Yes he is fast but be real here I am sorry but that is just the stupidest thing I have ever heard. A man who was taking bombs from Cotto and not knocked down and you say Khan can do it, give me a break

You need to get your head checked out mate. Khan would out-box Tony all day but the second Tony lands a semi-big shot, Khan will be on the floor dead. I'm all for people being positive towards Khan for once but you're going too far. I think Miles is going to try to kill you pretty soon...

Re: My Thoughts On The Amir Khan Fight.
Oh well I tried to be a Khan fan. :vd:
It just wasn't part of my destiny, unlike Khan who, as the announcers subtly noted, lived his destiny tonight with a thrilling magnoriforous performance
Edit-I thought Mikay was being serious for a while there. ;D

I agree the commnetary was terrible/biased. I do think Amir Khan hit alot of arms/gloves. But Andriy Kotelnik is no mug either, he's a solid opponent with a decent boxing brain. I didn't think he would get caught with much silly punches. Overall a decent win for Amir Khan, but i'd still like to see how he deals with a top 10 fighter who can punch. He's only ever fought one puncher, and look what happened there.
Kotelnik haas got to be the most frustrating boxer i have ever watched Khan was leaving him self open in the later stages screaming at my pc screen did not help kotelnik not one bit. He has improved but lets see him in with someone who is gonna move forward and throw something!!!!!!!

In his last 3 fights since the Prescott disaster he has not just won he has completely outclassed his opponents.
Of the current lot at 140 there is nobody to be afraid of at all in my opinion.
I think he can beat Urango, Malignaggi and even Tim Bradley, Bradley none of them being big punchers either. Urango is tough but far too slow imo.
If he fights Marquez a year from now he beats him, as I've said many times before. But by then you lot will have written Marquez off so the win won't mean anything.
I think i was pretty fair with my assetment, im not big on John Murray either. I think he's an exciting/solid fighter. But he's nowhere near world class.
Well the 1st opponent he fought after the Breidis Prescott fight, was a complete bum who fought Kid Thunder or whoever. If he can't dominate him he should be a postman.
The MAB fight well you know my views on that, MAB was undersized. He had looked terrible in past warm up fights. And was clearly past his prime, MAB was also headbutted and the fight should of been a no contest.
I don't really count that im sorry but i don't, thats just an old legend who's ready for the taking. But he got off to a terrible start, based on a headbutt and could never get in the fight. And was fighting with one eye.
You know my views on the Andriy Kotelnik, because there above. But again i don't see how that fight proves he's ready for the likes of JMM. Let alone beating him which is crazy talk. But if he somehow beat him, i would give him credit why wouldn't i ? its not the same as the MAB fight.
But lets get one thing straight here, this is the first real solid opponent. Amir Khan has fought yes lets give him credit, which he deserves. But lets also not get silly here like your doing, because your a big Amir Khan fan.
I think there's plenty of 140 pounder's who could test him.
Devon Alexander
Junior Witter
Marcos Rene Maidana
Timothy Bradley
Kendall Holt
Ricardo Torres
Lamont Peterson
Mike Alvrado
Randall Bailey
Any of these fights i would be fine with.
You talk sense.
It's hard to get carried away with someone who has been on his arse quite a few times in his career.
The Sky commentators are a fucking joke, they would tell you that shit was great to eat. Amir Khan said Kotelnik was the worst World Champion out there and that was the consensus. Khan was favourite and I fully expected him to win this fight. He won it and I have seen improvements in Khan's game which is hats off to Roach imo.
I think Khan is a good fighter but the hype that surrounds him and the Frank Warren BS that surrounds him too is outrageous.
£15 ppv for Khan is sick. Too sick for words.

Leaving Pacquaio out of the equation Khan might just be the best in this division. I'd certainly fancy him to outpoint Urgango, the WBC is vacant and Tim Bradley holds the other.
Bradley is decent but to say he's different class to Khan is just wrong imo.
Khan could unify this division imo.
are you kidding me? Bradley, Holt, Torres, Urango, Maidana, and Pacquiao all beat Khan IMO
Are you crazy, Khan would beat all above apart from pacman and would probably lose out on points in a hard fought fight.
yea, i'm not even sure Khan beats Prescott in a rematch, you're smoking crack dude

I can see Mg chasing down Khan all night getting completly exhausted by the 10th. Khan throws a fast combination which stagers margarito for the first time in the fight due too tirdness and swineflu. Margarito fails to exit hios corner in the 11th

Re: My Thoughts On The Amir Khan Fight.
Khan's speed and range was always going to be the factor in this fight. For me Kotelnik did'nt do enough,he never really moved his head much or bob and weave. He stayed in Khans top range all the bloody time and he was;nt cutting the ring off to corner Khan. What pissed me off was Kotelnik corner did'nt seem to give the right advice to him until it was far too late, for me he should have upped the tempo in round 7 and onwards after losing the first 6 rounds!!
Khan vs Hatton next eh:rolleyes:,another washed up fighter

Looks Khans just dominated the the best fighter of the weight class, forget unifying this division he should move up to welterweight and take on the big boys aka cotto, mosley etc. Weve all witnessed today something special and what Khan is truly capable of.

Don't overhype Andriy Kotelnik. This is the same guy Soleymane M'Baye of all people beat twice (Everybody knows he won the 2nd bout). Even Junior Twitter beat him. Kotelnik is nothing special at all and what Khan did tonight was plain ordinary.

Look you have to look at it in perspective, Khan moved up two weight divisions and took on the number 1 light welterweight in the world and demolished him. Its like when Jones Junior moved up to heavy to beat ruiz (but instead he beat Tyson). This was probably the biggest shock in boxing 2009.

I think Khan showed what would have happened to Barrera had the cut not occured.
Dominating win for Amir, he's improved leaps and bounds since joining up with Freddie Roach.
Bilbo you must be off your rocker seriously, i think Amir Khan done well over a solid opponent. But come off it JMM has shown power, and has one of the most intelligent boxing brains i've seen of this era. And he is also a master counter puncher which is a big no/no for Amir Khan.
Lets not get crazy here, yes Andriy Kotelnik is a decent opponent. But he is slow and he has no power. And to say Amir Khan would beat a fighter like JMM is crazy talk.
This is the first real decent opponent Amir Khan has ever fought, except for Breidis Prescott who himself got beat by some fighter. I've never heard of, lets wait and see when Amir Khan fights a top 10 fighter who has some power. Before you start calling Amir Khan a god.
Not really Ice, a couple years ago we all 'knew' that Manny would get battered if he moved up to face Hatton let alone Oscar, we would have said the p4p undisputed middleweight champ Jermain Taylor would never in a million years lose to Carl Froch, that Barrera would never lose to Amir Khan,.
Times change and a year from now Marquez will be older and slower, and Khan stronger and better.
I'd expect him to win a unanimous decision if they fought 12 months from now, and after the result I expect you guys would just dismiss it as good timing that was all.
Suspect chin aside Khan poses tremendous problems for any boxer to solve. If they can keep his defense tight which seemed a lot better tonight he is hard for ANYBODY to beat.
Anyway, don't take my word for it, just let it all unfurl and you'll see.
He's going to be in the p4p top 10 within the next 12 months.

I actually thought Kotelnik might have nicked 3 rounds but Khan was in control from the first bell.
Leaving Pacquaio out of the equation Khan might just be the best in this division. I'd certainly fancy him to outpoint Urgango, the WBC is vacant and Tim Bradley holds the other.
Bradley is decent but to say he's different class to Khan is just wrong imo.
Khan could unify this division imo.
are you feeling ok Bilbo;D you have gotta be kidding right ;D
Looks Khans just dominated the the best fighter of the weight class, forget unifying this division he should move up to welterweight and take on the big boys aka cotto, mosley etc. Weve all witnessed today something special and what Khan is truly capable of.
Slooooow down there bud.Back away from the substances slowly. He's just arrived on the mount,no need to see him sorted & toppled so quickly. If he jumps to welter...Mosley would do bad thinks to him.Inside and out.

Actually he moved up one weight division.
And you call Andriy Kotelnik the best light welterweight in the world ?
You ever heard of Bradley, Hatton, Pacquiao, Witter, Alexander, Holt, Torres or Urango etc ? Andriy Kotelnik was one weak 140 pound fighter who just happened to hold an alphabet title.
You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

I think your being a little humble there mate. Possibly top 3 p4p. I reakon hes in the top 10 right now.
go away are you being serious FFS

There have been rumors that Khan seriously staggered manny in training and now freddie roach is considering making Khan his number one fighter. It was even confirmed by Amir dad in an interview with setanta sports yesterday
There were rumors floating around I had a 10 inch cock but imagine the girls disappointment when they found out the truth. I still got enough for you to suck on though silly boob.:tease-new:And Feddie is losing his mind in case you hadn't noticed.

Mainly the swineflu bit. :)
This guy must seriously be joking though.. surely?! I'm a big khan fan but some of the shit this guy is saying is just off the charts. Sounds to me like he's one big windup merchant.
If have said nothing which is not probable. We all know margarito is mexican and swineflu originally came from there. Amir khans dads union jack waistcoat has a secret pocket containing tamiflu and other anti-viral drugs which he will administor to khan during the 7th round whilst margerito will be progessivley be weakened by the disease.
