Re: Khan - Salita & Michell - Prescott
My heart goes out to the Khan haters.. maybe next time he'll get knocked out eh? :p
Salita wasn't in his class, simple.. but what a fucking combo, one of the fastest 1-2's you'll see. So who's next for 'King Khan'? Personally, I wanna see Marquez or Diaz.

Re: Khan - Salita & Michell - Prescott
I do feel bad for Salita. He seems a nice guy, but he's been built into something he didn't have the talent for. At least he's no longer the mandatory.
Haha, Nicky Piper is the only man who talks more shit than Jim Watt. Fuckin hell, I consider myself a Khan fan, but Sky's team are going way over the top.
EDIT: Although it is great watching all the people saying Khan would get KTFO having to change their tune in the space of 90 seconds. That makes it worthwhile.

My thoughts exactly down to serious boxing. Where is the fight hosted just to give me an idea of the time if no one knows?
It's in Atlantic City, NJ.

Re: Khan - Salita & Michell - Prescott
Lets see how long it takes it for the vegtable Roach and the con man Warren to put him in with someone decent. Bradley would be good

It starts at 6:30 your time.
Arreola vs Minto is the opening fight.
I bet Arreola makes sure that he says "fuk" many times in the post fight interview, just to piss the WBC off. ;)

It was. He is lighting fast. Until he gets in a battle and absorbs some shots there will be a cloud hovering. Was hoping to see some of that but o well.

Damn if you peeled away Frank Warren's face you'd see a giant toad sitting in there above his nose I'm sure..
It's like Jabba the Hut raped Princess Leia and had a bastard lovechild.

Yeah big fucking bulgy eyes on him that Frank, they seem to be growing. In ten years time he will just have a pair of eyes for a head.

Khan wins in first round
This from the BBC
Amir Khan needed just 76 seconds to defeat Dmitriy Salita in the first defence of his WBA light-welterweight title in Newcastle. Salita was floored by a lightning-fast left-right combination after just 10 seconds and never recovered.
The New Yorker clambered to his feet, but his legs had gone and the referee had no choice but to step in as Khan continued his bombardment.
Khan, 22, now has 22 wins and 16 knockouts from 23 professional fights.

Oh come on, even old feather weights Barrera and Gomez did better and the same Prescott got got beaten by Mitchell who is no geat shakes.
Warren must wipe his brow and heave a sigh of relief everytime Kahn makes it through a fight now, the next decent puncher kahn faces beats him;)

Here's my excuse, been as consistent as the sun rise. Salita is not any good. Said it when the fight was signed.
I give Khan credit for taking him down that fast, didn't expect that. But the result was a foregone conclusion barring any off the wall injury.

Re: Khan wins in first round
NO WAAAAAAY! 1st round, 76 seconds...
Get outta here...
Your also gonna tell me Mitchell outboxed Prescotts...

Its funny Amir destroys a 31-0 former Golden Gloves champ in just 76 seconds and its no big deal but if a flyweight did that to a similarly rated unknown 108 lber it would be proof of their p4p status.

Re: Khan wins in first round
He got a bum out of there like he should have, so credit to him. He has improved a LOT under Roach I don't care what anyone says, I see a better all around improvement.
Anyway......It's time for competitive fights, this is in no way PPV worthy, the undercards pissed all over this 'main event' How much did Khan, SKY and Warren rake in for this shit? Also where the fuck do they find these undefeated fighters? I'd love to see who that bearded fucker fought for 30 odd fights to stay unbeaten I really would.

Let me ask the haters this: If Khan was to beat two solid opponents (not that Salita was solid, but hey he was a mandatory) in his next two fights, will you finally show him some respect? or will you continue to wish ill fortune on him regardless?

Re: Khan - Salita & Michell - Prescott
I was a big Khan critic before he went to Freddie Roach. But the chinks I saw in him then don't see to be there now.
Sure Amir is being Frank Warrened - placed in relatively easy fights - so we don't really know where he's at.
But credit where it's due, I think Khan has improved a lot recently.
-
Re: Khan wins in first round
Glad I didn't pay for that. ;D

Re: Khan wins in first round
Just saw that on Justin TV, after 3 seconds he floored Salitas with a vicious shot to the head, Salitas never recovered properly, he floored him 2 other times in the remaining 53 seconds and it was lights out for little Salitas.

Re: Khan - Salita & Michell - Prescott
Congrats to khan anything else said doesn't matter

I've seen videos of him sparring and he looked better in his past few fights. He was always going to knock out an unbeaten bloke with no-one on his resume!
He used to have a chink where he was open to left hooks. Looks as though that has gone, although against Barrera it did surface towards the end of that fight.
I think Khan will be alright with Freddie. He's always had the speed and power, but the defence was shite. Now it looks as though he's got that sorted or is on the way to get it sorted.
He'll always have a suspect Vera Lynn, and I have my doubts as to how far he can go, but fair play to the lad.
