Quite a strange fight, from Abraham's passivity to the very ending if the fight.
If Dirrell wasn't hurt by that he's got a hell of a chin. He was clearly down, what was going through AA's head is beyond me.
Yeah, OK. He whooped Froch and lost on a hometown decision. He beat AA senseless for the 9 rounds I was able to see. Even if he acted it up a little, can you blame him? This makes the tourney much more interesting.
I will give credit to Dirrell for boxing well in the first half of the fight, but I am quite upset that the fight had to end like that. A bit of a let down, Dirrell on the way to getting stopped anyway. Abraham stops him next time they meet.

Well they say when you go to the other guys backyard youve gotta knock em out to get a draw. Arthur did that but got DQ'd for it.
We knew summat corrupt would happen when a Michigan fighter got a home ref in Michigan. Arthur got cut by a headbutt but no warnings to Direll . He was also hit low many times without warning. Arthur also scored a clean knockdown the round before and wasnt awarded it. Total farce like Ward vs Kess.
What a strange fight....! Wonderful? Maybe not...
I honestly think that AA wasn't aware that Dirrell was completely grounded and I DO think Dirrell was playing up. Having said that... All's fair in Love & War... Dirrell deserved the win.

Unfortunately, the ref made a bad decision.
It was absurd. Dirrell has athletic skills, but is a total woman. Abraham should really have pressured more early on. The cards would have been closer and the knockout would have come sooner. Froch had it half right in roughing him up, but you also need to let the hands go a bit and keep him down. And he will stay down.Quote:

Seriously, Cole needs to retire as a ref. Lots of lousy judgment calls/no calls. Im even thinking he waited too long to call that a DQ. Don't think he's biased or anything, but he always overlooks a lot of important stuff thats happening in the ring. good show by dirrell, but Im still having second thoughts if he was acting or not during the end of the bout.
It was an obvious knockdown, the feet barely touched from what I saw. It was a punch that put Dirrell there.
I remember when Bowe knocked down Buster Mathis and kept hitting him. They called it a no decision. Maybe Buster should have twitched like a spaz then got up and cried like a girl and he may have got a DQ win.
I hope Dirrel was acting cuz if I wake up in the morning and he actually does have brain damage then I'll have to delete this post.
Who knocked down who, and when is irrelevant.
