Not sure what Cleverly's trying to do at times. His best punch is the left hook to the body but he doesn't throw it enough. Has he thrown an uppercut all night? Its there.

That was a real disappointment, Mohammedi was elusive in the early parts of the fight, and Clev seemed to be gassed with all the chasing he had to do. I agree that maybe Cleverly needs a trainer that isn't his dad, he didn't seem to know how to speak to him and Powell had to give the speech, and I think his dad being there might have been a bit of a distraction. He got through the fight though... a bit of generous scoring though, I had him by two, and hopefully a better performance next time out.

DeGale KO 3

Degale looks like he is absolustely shitting himself.. could be a tentative start

De Gale tagged him with some nice shots at the end of the round.

He ain't shitting niow., Deagale gshowing he's got some bollocks.

Will be interesting if this goes into later rounds.

Seems pretty clear to me that whoever is pushing the other guy back is doing better. Smith especially doesn't seem to fight well moving back/side to side.

DeGale does look pretty classy but he doesn't punch properly. He's not getting full power on those punches.

Why does deGale let off the gas when he gets Smith hurt?

I can't decide if Degale is going to get the stoppage I need. He doesn't get full power on al his punches but he is landing pretty easily. That backhand jab annoys me, its like watching Naz again :p

Very good performance from James De Gale, i was impressed.

That was an impressive performance! Still a lot of work to do but to become British champion after 9 professional fights is a really good achievement. On that performance you'd have to say that he'll beat Grooves.

Me too, mate. I thought that apart from that flicking jab, and a couple of bad habits, then he looked very good indeed. He was pretty much in charge the whole way through. The last few rounds DeGale did back off when he had Smith hurt, but I think with experience he'll become better at finishing guys off. Also, I think he was hesitant of getting caught too much.

Overall a very good performance though, well deserved win, and answered some questions in his development there against a much more experienced opponent.

Very impressive from DeGale. I thought this had come too soon for him, but he completely dominated, threw a good variety of punches and combinations, he really showed he's capable of going up another level now.

De Gale looked great. I've never thought of Smith as anything other than a domestic level fighter but to dominate him after only 8 pro fights is impressive.

That was like Lewis taking Gary Mason apart early in his career, he aced the test and showed he may yet prove to be a bit special.

Gary Mason was more capable though, he had a very high KO percentage and good wins over solid American fighters like James Tillis, Tyrell Biggs.

When he won the Olympics I actually thought he was very poor and the weakest of all the champs. I did not believe he would be a world champ but now he is actually developing into a decent fighter.

I know your not mate im just saying, i think Gary Mason was alot more capable. And was actually more Frank Bruno's level. It's just his eye let him down, and i think he performed pretty bravely in the Lennox Lewis fight.

Im also high on James De Gale, i think he looks top notch. It's just the Super Middleweight division is so deep at the moment it will be tough for him.

Did you see Bellew after the second knockdown, he was pacing around having a full on argument with himself, with the ref chasing him trying to give him a count and Bellew pretty much ignoring him.
