Gonzalez flattened.
I post that Gonzalez is standing in front when he doesn't have to, and then Sierra drops him for that exact reason.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Good first 2 mins of round 6 after getting dropped last round.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
I think Teddy's wrong. I think Gonzales is struggling to get air.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ

And the weekend is just beginning!

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Might be time for a guinness in honor of these 2 warriors. ;)

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Is there a reason the announcers aren't hard on Sierra for intentionally coming in heavy and not losing any weight? In fact they treat it like it was a slick thing to do. I thought coming into a fight overweight made you the reincarnation of the devil or something the way they treat it sometimes.

I stopped caring about that fight a long time ago. It will never happen. Let it go. ;)

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
bodyshots and Sierra is hurt. 2 good bodyshots!!! don't be at the wrong distance going after him. All the way out or all the way in.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Man Gonzales has some real stones doesn't he?

In my view not trying to make weight is unprofessional and unforgiveable.

Teddy has said some things about it, but I don't think anyone can be too hard on it. This type of thing should not happen.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
If Gonzales can be smart here, Sierra is caving in mentally.
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Wow, this is one heck of a fight.
Gonzales has to watch it. Don't stand right there!!!!

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
This is a bloody fight, you sort of hate to see either guy lose after the effort they've both put in.
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
See I don't get why those cuts were checked.
Nobody is going to bleed to death fer crissake.
The issue should be can the fighter defend himself not the medical severity of the cut (barring losing an eye or arterial bleeding). I saw zero evidence either guy was incapacitated by the cut.
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Why has Gonzales stopped going to the body?
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Sierra's size and not trying to make weight has made him able to stand up to all of the shots, but his overall conditioning probably will be his undoing.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
These guys are running fumes.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
These are two courageous and now exhausted guys
I have no idea who is winning.

I haven't been scoring but I feel like Gonzales should be ahead. He seems to have the ability to win the relatively uneventful (uneventful only in comparison to the crazy rounds of this fight) rounds.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Ref needs to let these guys fight. They are both protecting themselves and both seem to be able to see the punches coming (as far as I can tell).
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Let them fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Wonder if Haye and Wlad are watching......

Yup. It shouldn't be the cut that causes the stoppage. It should be the fighter's inability to deal with it.
Both are dealing just fine.

As usual sir, you are on point.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Just a wonderful night of boxing.
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
I think ref needs to tell Sierra to stop turning away.
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Good fight. Both men earned whatever they got paid, the respect of the fans in the arena, and the promise of fight fans to watch their next fights if they are televised.

good call. Ref hasn't and it is dangerous. Gonzales is throwing his left hand with abandon when Sierra turns away.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Wait a minute Teddy. You mean the guy who is behind has to change something?
Somebody notify David haye!
