Wow, you're actually calling a person of non-African descent a great athlete!!!
I'm fckin with you man. Seriously , all in good fun.
You're right though, Alvarado just didn't ( and never will) have the ring skills to beat a legend like JMM. Did anyone else think Marquez lost some of his power though down the stretch? He was still landing but not the powerful shots that mangled Mikes eye early on.
Damn, I'm rewatching the fight now. JMM dominated in each and every way. Alvarado has quite a chin, man can take a beating. overall, at least against Mile High, it didn't look like JMM lost a step
I watched this bout up close and personal and the reason why marquez looked younger and fresher than his age was because alvarado allowed him to fight at his own pace. It is the same mistake that other young fighters make against bernard hopkins..
Alvarado would have had a better shot if he went for broke earlier.. u dont try to box with the master boxer and he gave marquez too much space in the first half of the fight.
People keep raving about how young marquez looked so young and how he might be on steroids and shit but it had nothing to do with that. Alvarado had the wrong game plan..
If marquez were to face bradley again, he would have the same problems he did in their first fight.
Hey Finito, I was thinking about you as I watched the fight. I think I saw you, were you the black guy in the rapper outfit? You looked good. You picked a good fight to be at especially seeing how you are JMM fan. Seems like the crowd was electric, hope you had a great time.
I agree, Finito. I think I mentioned Marquez being 4-0 up because Alvarado didn't seem to be doing anything. You can't just do nothing for half a fight. Marquez looked awesome, but like with Pac sometimes, it was clever matchmaking too. Marquez looked much, much faster than Alvarado and would put together punches in proper hurtful combinations.
The fight was shown here for free but delayed an hour for commercials in between. The one shown here is always the Top Rank version, though nothing much different than the HBO except with different commentators. It had Tim Bradley as one of the commentators, as well as - what's his name? - that grandpa from HBO? I wonder anybody else heard Tim. I thought he'd make a good boxing commentator...
ACNE:
Rampant acne is one of the more obvious indicators of steroid use. When taking anabolic steroids, an adult will commonly be confronted with this same problem. This is because the sebaceous glands, which secrete oils in the skin, are stimulated by androgens. Increasing the level of such hormones in the skin may therefore enhance the output of oils, often causing acne to develop on the back, shoulders and face. The use of strongly androgenic steroids in particular can be very severe, in some instances causing blemishes on the skin or spots. By washing your face and always showering after exercises it will reduce this effect. If you have very severe acne see your dermatologist, but in most instances even a dermatologists can't do anything until your cycle is over.
Hughie Fury had spots all over his body in his last fight and I am sure he is not taking steroids.
You guys remember Alejandro Gonzalez or a Victor Rabanales ? Cobrita looked like he walked out of the final scene of a Tarantino movie. Dude had to feel like he was rolling in soaky bubble wrap when he slept. Marquez looked outstanding, get over it.
I think a number of guys here made valid points and Marquez could have been using some kind of PED. In the end, this is only speculation so I don't hang my hat on it. Hopefully he played fair and square in a boxing match where an unfair advantage could relate in death for theIn boxingnopponent.
Assuming he didn't, Marquez put on a beautiful performance against my favorite boxer. Perhaps he looked at it as a tune up fight but it was a brave one. to reiterate what others said I really hope we don't see another another Manny fight but that is probably where the money is. I think a rematch with with Bradley is in order. Enough of the Manny fights or perhaps he can fight the winner of Prod versus Manny. With the cold war In boxing I guess Manny v Marqez May very well take place. I would love to Manny v Pac is likely or perhaps it could do do a lot to end the cold war.
Marquez once again proves that he is by far the greatest fighter from Mexico of all time.
PED use is a hoax, a rumor by silly men like Victor Conte and etc... the acne problem is most likely the result of Marquez' own refraining from old pre-fight routine; of lifting stones and quenching thirst with volumes of his' and his team's or camp's collection of pee--- that aside, he is, bar none, the greatest of all greats, the ultimate warrior out of Mexico, four times world champion and still counting at the tender age 40!
Congrats!
You made Alvarado look like he was gasping for PEDS to only level up fighting you, you are that damned too great!!!
Sorry buddy most Mexican men have bad skin, especially those from Mexico City due to pollution and genetics. Extremely common to find Mexicans with acne on chest and back even as late adults. No washing will fix the prob lem only laser treatment to dry out the area. Some really arrogant ignorant people in here , surprised MD's have time to write comments in here. Shit Many has to be on PEDS no ne can be that ugly without assistance ... on second thought his mom does look like the bride of Frankenstein.
Have you forgotten the light hitting Rios was able to take out Alvararo ?
Yes, haha it's obvious you have never been around Mexican people then you would know this is not something I am pulling out of left field.
Treating Acne in Latino Skin - Acne.org and it is multiplied in Mexico City where the pollution is insanely unhealthy . Next time try learning a thing or two before farting out of your mouth.
I have a few pimples on my back somewhere unknowingly Pac's camp must have slipped me some steroids . Why is this a topic after the fight not at weigh in? Would he not of had them then if he were juiced. Maybe his body reacted to rehydrating and eating full meals after weighing in the guy is no spring chicken anymore. Plus he still had to pass a post test.
I gotta give addicted to cock some credit. he is a dedicated mofo, you would think he is getting paid for this guys love for anything anti pac.
Alvarado was very poor and almost star struck against Marquez, he did very little.
So we are going to speculate off fighters' pimples now? That's pretty fuckin stupid..
As if marquez needs an extra boost to deal with Alvarado lol..smh
Clowns like him don't get much of my limited time here. I debate with people who are unbias and will admit when they make good points. Addicted to cock is a fuck clown. Will always be a fuck clown. I no longer waste my time reading anything more than a few sentences from a fuck clown.
Would you care to share the context of Alvarado's post fight interview... missed that part for a reason or another, which is equally as important as the fight if one is to understand the spectacle that just transpired.
I want to know what were his thoughts after the fight. The nagging question in need of a logical response is why he wasted half of the fight just covering up and allow JMM rack up points and easily win the first six rounds or so. It was night and day how he had seemingly summoned an inner strength to make it a close fight, one that had Marquez in a bind on a few, in the last half of the fight.
It's as if to the newbie, Alvarado had a death wish had he gone offensively or done some attacking earlier on in the fight... much like Bam Bam did, only that time for the whole duration of the fight an unwilling partner to risk it all.
Kudos to Mike Alvarado though, he didn't just fold and flat out quit to let his fans leave into the night feeling cheated of a good night of boxing!
Thanks, sport!
I think Alvarado has some serious inner issues. I think he should take the rest of the year off and figure out if he really wants to go 100 or he is damage goods. A lost is a lost, he needs to get over it and come back with fire. I think he would of done better against JMM if he had gone after him from the first bell and impose his youth and size.
