If either fighter tests positive it seems there will be more than 5 million dollars to pay. No fight (with all the money that is worth) and a four year ban. Which at their respective ages would surely equal an end to their careers
"Travis Tygart, the chief executive of the United States Anti-Doping Agency, said a positive test would kill the May 2 fight, where the total purse likely will be more than $200 million. It also would subject the fighter who tested positive to a potentially career-ending ban of four years from competition.
“If there’s a positive test prior to the fight, the penalty for the fighter who violates it is going to be a lot higher than $5 million,” Tygart said Friday.
Both fighters signed agreements for the USADA to oversee drug testing for the May 2 fight that will be boxing’s richest ever. Mayweather is expected to make at least $120 million and Pacquiao $80 million for the much anticipated bout"

Manny has a munch. The Filipino star shares a family feast
"Manny Pacquiao has been training hard recently, so it’s hardly surprising he replaces the many thousands of calories he burns with a big feast.
The Filipino star looked relaxed as he took his mind off his upcoming $300million (£200m) mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather Jnr with a family meal.
It’s a little over six weeks before the duo go head-to-head in Las Vegas and the 36-year-old has again stepped up his training in recent days, this time sparring for the first time with partners Edis Tatli and Kenneth Sims Jnr."

Sky Sports have won the rights to the fight, they have to give Floyd a cut of the Ppv too.
This prohibited list http://www.usada.org/wp-content/uplo...ed-list-en.pdf
At first glance one would think this poses a problem for Floyd's use of Xylocaine. The list now has a statement that limits the use of any substance, not approved, rather that only those on the list.
Here is the beginning statement:
S0. NON-APPROVED SUBSTANCES
Any pharmacological substance which is not addressed by any of the subsequent sections of the List and with no current approval by any governmental regulatory health authority for human therapeutic use (e.g drugs under pre-clinical or clinical development or discontinued, designer drugs, substances approved only for veterinary use) is prohibited at all times.
So after reading that, what? Say Floyd uses a pain killer during the fight. A positive test only shows after up after the fight, which leads to the conclusion of no liability for lost income. Does USADA have any the legal authority over the purse? I don't think so. In fact, I think the only thing they can do is recommend based on what the rules say to the governing body. I think only the Boxing commission has the legal authority. I'm guessing if the above scenario actually happened, Only a ban would be enforced and a fine imposed. I doubt any fine would amount to more than $5 million and a civil suit amount to nothing because there is no loss of income, unless shows the outcome of the fight was affected and earnings potential was loss.
Pactards making excuses...
It's being said that Floyd is beating the shit out of every sparring partner put in front of him and showing real spite.
His uncle is quoted as saying he completely "beat the shit" out of Judah recently during a 5 round session and then quit as he fucked up Judahs eye and Didn't want to fuck up Zabs upcoming fight.
Keep it up Pactards.... You're starting to look desperate.
Great article by Kevin Mitchell (no not that one) The Guardian's boxing writer on the intertwined relationship that God and Sport (in this case Boxing) has in America. For British fight fans this is an essentially bamboozling state of affairs, in which very little sense is made in explaining the relevance, in what is surely the most secular of pursuits. Violence in the form of prize fighting, in pursuit of indecent amounts of monetary wealth.
Mitchell
"God, like everyone else who can get a ticket, is coming to Las Vegas. On 2 May, surrounded by the usual cast of sinners, he will hear his name invoked again in a boxing ring, American sport’s altar to excess. If he wins, Floyd Mayweather Jr will interrupt the TV interviewer (sadly it won’t be Larry Merchant) to, “thank God and my team”. If Manny Pacquiao wins, he will raise his hands to the heavens and give thanks. These are the rituals of the fight game, especially in Vegas, where Godliness is next to the cash machine, and Floyd and Manny will do the tradition proud."

Only 40 days to go
http://sd.keepcalm-o-matic.co.uk/i/k...ays-left-7.png
yea, 40 days and 40 nights
So Sky Tv have won the rights as suggested by smashup and confirmed by Primo in http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...ox-office.html
"Sky Sports Box Office have won the race to show the $300m superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao - and it will be the most-expensive in UK box-office history.
The May 2 fight will be shown on pay-per-view, with Sky customers being charged £19.95 to watch the clash.
That price will rise by a fiver on the day of the fight, provided bookings are made via remote control and online, but it will cost £24.95 if ordered by phone.
That would make it £3 more expensive than Carl Froch-George Groves last May, and £10 more expensive than Mayweather-Ricky Hatton eight years ago."

Looks like the super fight could generate £270 Million ($400 Million)
"The money that will be generated by the welterweight title unification fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao -- already expected to be a slam dunk to break every revenue record in combat sports history -- is growing by the day and could easily surpass $400 million (£270m).
The live gate for the May 2 fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will generate a staggering $74m (£50m) from the sale of a little more than 15,000 tickets, Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, told ESPN on Monday.
That is almost four times the gate record of $20,003,150 (£13.4m) generated by ticket sales for Mayweather's light-middleweight unification fight against Canelo Alvarez, also at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in September 2013."

"With just 40 days until Floyd Mayweather finally comes face-to-face with Manny Pacquiao inside a ring, the official poster for their mega-fight has been released. The two boxers - Mayweather on the left and Pacquiao on the right - are both drenched in sweat as they pose in their fight trunks, staring menacingly down the camera with their hands wrapped.
Their names are displayed in striking orange font, as is the date of the fight (May 2) and the start times of the Las Vegas show.
Also included are logos for the fight's venue, the MGM Grand, and Showtime and HBO - the US broadcasters which will jointly broadcast the show live on pay-per-view."

Fight set to generate £270 Million
So Sky are charging £19.99 and if (which it should) can beat Hatton v Mayweathers PPV buys of 1.2 Million that's £24 Million right there, my mate runs a pub and he's having a lock in to show it through Sky PPV but he has to pay Sky £220 for the PPV.
There's gonna be thousands of pubs/clubs (maybe tens of thousands) doing the same so the figures in the UK alone are astronomical.
I have head that Floyd as part of the deal got to pick which UK platform he wants to show it (BT Sports, Boxnation and Sky all matched the asking price) and he gets a cut of the revenue which is obviously why Sky got it as they have a ready made larger audience to sell it to.

The fight is also set to make more in just ticket sales than the Superbowl which made $60 million this year.
That's incredible when you think the superbowl stadium must hold 80-90 Thousand compared to the MGM Grand which only holds 15,000

Roach has added to the claims that Floyd got beat up in sparring
"Boxing trainer Freddie Roach has added to claims that Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently suffered a pounding in training ahead of his May 2 clash with Manny Pacquiao.
Roach, who is preparing Pacquiao for the Las Vegas event, spoke shortly after rumours circulated that former undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah knocked Mayweather down "for at least 10 seconds," originally reported by Ghanaian website Allsports.com.gh"

That's just the face value prices.
All of these tickets will be sold on to various sites before they go on sale then be sold for way more than this 😉
Exactly the same scam they did with Froch v Groves 2
There's only 1000 tickets going on sale to the public, they're gonna sell in minutes!
It seems that anyone in the Philippines will be able to chose which channel to watch the fight after Pacquiao hammered out a deal for them all to broadcast the fight simultaneously.

Is it sensible to be comparing Maidana and Pacquiao ?
"Nobody is scoring a KO in this fight. Maidana hits much harder than Pacquiao and couldn’t do it with clean punches from awkward angles. Pacquiao hasn’t scored a knockout in six years and, similar to Mayweather, is not a powerful welterweight like Maidana. At welterweight, Pacquiao has only scored one stoppage and it was a premature referee stoppage of Miguel Cotto back in 2009. Before that, he knocked out Ricky Hatton at junior welterweight in his last real KO. Since moving up to junior welterweight and above, in nine wins, Pacquiao only has two wins by stoppage and they were both six years ago. Maidana, on the other hand, has scored KO’s in three of his four wins at welterweight, on top of 28 KO’s in 31 wins at junior welterweight. At junior welterweight and above, Maidana’s KO percentage is over 80 percent, while Pacquiao’s is just over 20 percent like Mayweather, JR.’s. Predicting a knockout for either man is wishful thinking"

Floyd wants more than just a victory. He wants to look good doing it. Good article here with a great insight into the head and methods of Floyd.
"It is each man's job to discern the other's strengths, then neutralize. "A lot of guys do a lot of things wrong, but they are still successful," Mayweather said. "So I want to know what he does right, so I can take that away from him, so I can take that arsenal away from him. What I do, when I'm facing a guy, whatever he does good, I take that away from him, so he has to resort to doing something different."
Forty-seven times, it has been all about winning the fight he's in and looking good in the next one for Mayweather. Sometimes, against opponents like Genaro Hernandez, and Diego Corrales, and Arturo Gatti, Mayweather has been both victorious and spectacular.
In the fight to rewrite history, he craves rediscovering that intersection.
"I just want to look good for myself," he said. "I want to look very impressive. I'm pretty sure he's going to bring his A-game, and it's all about excitement. I got here somehow, some way. He's a solid competitor, but very reckless, and he makes a lot of mistakes."
And there it is -- the suggestion that even in this superfight to end them all, there is an inherent gap in ring comprehension."

They should show the pictures of the injections Floyd is going to have in his hands.
So poor Manny is too old to run up hills anymore? What a fight
I've addressed this many times but it is another one of those things people don't want to hear the truth about. Floyd doesn't use injections. Keith Kizer says so here
http://www.examiner.com/article/neva...ands-are-clean
I hope this works as a link, I hate the flipping Iphone I don't know how to use the damn thing.
I'm a bit confused by what Kizer is saying.
He says that Floyd has never asked for permission to use any injections in his hands, but later in the article he says that the hand injections aren't barred by the NSAC.
So can it just be Floyd is injecting his hands and not asking for permission because he doesn't need permission because it's not a banned substance?
