That's all on Pac and Pac alone.
Mayweather fought exactly the same style of fight he always does. Hell, he even out landed Manny!!
Manny didn't fulfill his promise to hunt the running Mayweather down and KO him with the help of THE FIST OF GOD.

Floyd did say he was going for the knock out which was utter bull as well.

Funny that Manny's destruction of a severely weight drained Oscar is considered one of his shinning moments since he fought Oscar a year and a half after "age caught up" to him against Floyd.
Hahaha!
I never wanted to see oscar again after the floyd fight, that was a pay day for oscar, he didnt care. But in his prime he beats floyd
Oscar would never beat Floyd. Oscar lost all his big fights. Who has Oscar beat that makes you think he would beat Floyd? Don't say sweetpea because that will make you sound silly.

Re: MAYWEATHER / PACQUIAO - Saturday Night - FIGHT THREAD- TR/HBO/SKY
I had it 116 to 112 Floyd.
Manny may have got in more flurries when in close but Floyd did dominate that with his jabs, weave, right cross, skip out of there routine. Mannys best rounds; the fourth by a long shot and the 6th and 10th for my liking were all his. Not really any stand out rounds for Floyd so you can see why normal punters could think Manny took the fight to him and they would of thought those inside flurries scored every hit but Floyd was checking 3/4 of them so out of 9 hits 3 at the most were on the mark then that was it for the round , in all the other rounds Floyd just consistently cleanly out pegged and out maneuvering him.
If every round was like the 4th Manny would of won it.
-
Re: MAYWEATHER / PACQUIAO - Saturday Night - FIGHT THREAD- TR/HBO/SKY
The fourth was Many's best round.
It's funny that he was able to be so effective considering they claim he injured his arm in the 3rd round and was unable to punch well thereafter.

His right seemed fine to me and he threw around 190 jabs as well. Just a BS excuse.

Rewatching the fight I looked for signs of an injury to that arm. I didn't notice him wincing or using it any less.
Well... I noticed him doing everything less than he usually does but his arm seemed fine to me. He kept swinging at the air with the same intensity all night long.

Have been listening to radio all day and post fight withdrawals. I feel like I'm watching my pet be abused and mutilated. This "event" did no favors for the sport.

Re: MAYWEATHER / PACQUIAO - Saturday Night - FIGHT THREAD- TR/HBO/SKY
Mayweather is a genius. He's made a truck load of money off the back of serving up an event that was horse shit from start to finish.
It was a corporate event that Joe Blogs was not invited to and the atmosphere or lack of is testament to that. It was as dull as dishwater from the outset and never improved.
Mayweather was never going to be part of a Hagler Hearns matchup, we all knew that, but he could have fulfilled our boxing appetites with a couple of barnstorming televised undercard fights. That would have made all the difference for me, if the crowd (the ones that actually want to watch not just say they were there) were already full to the brim on 'fighting', Mayweathers boxing could have been the cherry on top of a boxing banquet that ticked all the boxes.
I've had more fun watching a low rent prizefighter tournament.

I won't be gutted when he retires, he's past his best but even a old floyd is still the best of his generation easily and I think he's the best ever.

Best ever boxer GTFOH
Do not fall for the hype. He is a great p4p fighter but he is not the best welterweight ever for a start and has no real great rival or produced a great performance where he was an under dog.
Sooner he retires the better.

Master I've seen all the greats of past and for me personally floyds the best. He's not only beat everyone out there and there's a lot of great fighters he's faced, he's made every single one of them look average. I know a lot of people discredit his 0 but when does it start to mean something ???

I would guarantee Leonard, Hearns and Robinson beat him.
I also think he would not have beaten all of the top fighters in the 1990's like Oscar, Sweat Pea, Ike and Tito.
Floyd is an ATG but TBE is the highest accolade to give someone and he does not meet that criteria.

See that's the problem with now vs past your saying you guarantee they would beat floyd when it's impossible to say, so it's pointless these type of conversations that's why I always say in my opinion he's the best ever.
Also was watching a lot of interviews last night on YouTube I never realised Oscar made floyd use 10oz gloves. Maybe it's been talked about before and I just missed it but would like to see people's views on this, having boxed myself going from 8 oz to 10s is a noticeable difference.

Yeah it's all just opinion. Most people can't predict boxing fights that actually happen now with any consistent accuracy, let alone present vs. past fights. It's an unpredictable sport.
The way I feel about Mayweather... I've never seen anyone as technically brilliant in the ring as Mayweather. That's something that gets lost in these discussions a lot of the time: actual in-ring ability.
People use a lot of techniques to discredit Floyd and it all stems from things other than in-ring ability. A lot of logical fallacies in there. People point to the fact that he never had a rival as proof that he's not that good, when all that probably means is that he was too good for anyone to compete with him. Or the fact that he's always the favourite in his fights, which just makes sense because when you're that dominant people are going to make you the favourite. The fact is, if Floyd vs GGG at 154 was announced tomorrow, I bet you any money that Floyd would be the slight favourite. Bookies are in the business of making money, and you usually don't make money by putting the guy who's gone almost 20 years undefeated as an underdog.
-
Talking about TBE is pointless. The people against don't even realize how the compliment. Like Master is arguing against but when he lists people to beat Floyd his list was entirely larger men. In a P4P argument that is not intended to be but it is a compliment.
Floyd is the absolute best of his era and there is no reasonable argument against that, that is good enough.

How's that.Did floyd not land a single punch ? Not only do they give more pop on your shots you can also punch faster, so I'm amazed at your comment.

I am amazed you are amazed as you normally know your boxing. Floyd has no power at the bigger weight and there was no way he was going to knock out Oscar. All his fights will go to points decision.

I'm not talking about a knock out but 8oz would of put a bit more sting on his shots and might of been a very different fight Oscar was very clever making floyds use 10oz. Don't matter anyway floyd beat him easy with 10s just found it strange he didn't want floyd to use 8s

TBE
-perfect record
-champion for 18 years
-titles in 4 weight divisions (maybe 5th in 2015)
-11 world titles
-self managed
-owns own promotional company
-highest paid athlete 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
-highest paid boxer ever
-Most money generated in single fight (beat own record)
-first fighter to demand and enforce comprehensive drug testing before and after fights
-has taken very little punishment in ring
Who has better stats than these??

Re: MAYWEATHER / PACQUIAO - Saturday Night - FIGHT THREAD- TR/HBO/SKY
No doubt, Floyd's a great fighter. Truly earned his place in the HOF. Not the most exciting the past few years but I certainly appreciate every effort he puts on. Often I find defense just as, or more impressive than offense. Loved Tyson when he was at his defensive high. Did so many amazing things, when I see great defense, literally makes me laugh, in a good way, it can make a competent fighter look inept. Also, I love a great jab. It is no coincidence that Floyd and Wlad have two of the best jabs in boxing. It has been a large part of the success. Despite the crap fight, Manny did a decent job slowing Floyd's jab compared to his last few fights but he still got it in.

That's the thing, Floyd chose this persona to portray and it has worked well for him. Then his fans get upset when people call him on it. We still watch him and enjoy his skills but the controversy has worked in his favor. Who knows, maybe one one one he's a real nice guy, I mean he hangs with Justin Beiber, how bad can he be.

I guess those "items" as you call them aren't relevant if you don't have them.
Those "items" prove he's on another level from all the rest.
He sets new levels for what a fighter can be and do with his own career. He's not just a fighter who gets beat up all his career and then retires broke because his manager and promoter robbed him blind.
Floyd is calling himself TBE because of ALL those "items".
They may not mean much to you but that's because none of those crossed out "items" are within your reach OR "Illegal Handwraps" Tito Trinidad's reach.
Pathetic! Sore loser you are.

I think it's ridiculous to call Floyd Mayweather Jr. hype. Of our generation he has soundly beaten everyone there is to fight. Everyone fans have accused him of ducking he came back and he beat them. Floyd is good fir boxing. The world tunes in to watch him fight. Just look at the numbers he does. Then you all criticise him for winning until he fights next time, when you will watch again.
I really hope we have another as skilled as him soon.

Re: MAYWEATHER / PACQUIAO - Saturday Night - FIGHT THREAD- TR/HBO/SKY
Floyd is a fraud. He had a one armed, shot fighter in front of him and was paid an astronomical amount of money and he had a duty to entertain the public. He did not, he stole the money and run. I am not going applaud that.

NO, though I don't agree with you, stay. Welcome back @bzkfn don't listen to Master he is probably just wired after having an accidental non-caffeine free coffee or some non herbal tea. He was I believe, jesting. We are down to Viking Eric and Canelo now, so you must come back on diversity grounds alone.
His skill set is certainly admirable although I would never call him TBE. Even the term TBE is a bit retarded. These things are only ever going to be opinions because of the long history that boxing has. You can't match fighters across eras unless it is hypothetically, but it is quite easy to envisage several fighters from the past giving Mayweather kittens and a big headache when he is brought round.

So... Floyd is "The Best Ever" because he has his own promotional company??
Because of what he gets paid??
... and I'm pathetic?
Anyway... what's with the "sore loser" quip?
I had little vested interest in that fight.
Sure I wanted Pac to win... but I knew Floyd would.
I just wanted a better fight.
... and of course you'll bring up the handwrap myth when ridiculed. You're like that little punk in "The Green Mile" who pissed his pants when Billy the criminal on Death Row grabbed him by the neck. Watch the movie.... he's just like you.
