Garcia and Thurman are Americans and their fight is on at stupid o'clock British time
I don't think British people are stupid for getting more excited about a fight between two big British names at heavyweight that is on at reasonable time
Printable View
Look at video views on all the youtube boxing channels - American as well as British - for Garcia-Thurman compared with Haye-Bellew, they're not even close in numbers. Haye-Bellew literally is getting hundreds of thousands of views per video compared with Garcia-Thurman struggling to get above low four figures.
It's not just British fans, it's ALL fans.
Am I really getting drawn into this? ;D
Look at this chin and now he wants to go up to HW and try it out against Haye who is known to hit pretty hard? Bellew has balls, but he has a little head and gets knocked down quite a lot. It's a joke. It will likely be like that Haye/Enzo Mac fight. I'm staying in bed!

Shut up Miles you miserable two bob cunt.
You comment on about half-a-dozen fights a year, some of us are far, far bigger boxing fans than you, it's been acknowledged all through the thread that this is a probable mismatch.
However, to many, many boxing lovers it's still fun, exciting and unmissable/hearable. Why? Because what if we're WRONG? It's one night of entertainment, that's it.
I dunno. To me it's like having to sit through all of those pointless Amir Khan fights against overmatched smaller men. There's the chance one of them will spark him, but it takes about 2 dozen fights to see it and in the meanwhile people are paying money to further his career. I would get it if it was a really good CW stepping up, but don't see it. I would much rather see Haye against Briggs as you know Briggs can take a punch and can hit hard too. It's just a fact that Garcia/Thurman is a far juicier fight too.
Anyways, I hope it happens too. I always go with the underdog, but I can't see anything other than Bellew doing the stanky leg thing in round 2.
I don't really understand the Americans seemingly being more excited about Haye Bellew than Garcia Thurman
I reckon if you switched their nationalities Id be more interested in the British fight regardless
I mean shit, I'm more looking forward to Cheeseman than Garcia Thurman!
No
ok I admit it
I couldn't care less what people watch/like, no-one is forced, you have a choice, it's personal preference.
However, the fact you (Miles and the other arrogant hypocrites) call fans "mugs" yet champion a fighter who's two decades past his best, whose had one fight in ten years against a top rated opponent, that left him in intensive care, says it all.
It is more than likely that most will watch both cards anyway because of the time difference. Boxing from the grass roots up has always been as much about entertainment and show business as sporting prowess, tactical nous and displaying heart and art in equal measure. From the fields through the booths a big mouth pantomime villain, the chance of an underdog upsetting the apple cart and an out sized or over matched opponent bringing down Goliath has and always will be a big part of it's appeal.
If Garcia-Thurman was on the London card it would be the 2nd "most fight i'm looking forward to" this weekend - behind Egg-Paulie.
Ohara-Derry and the gimme for Selby against Warwick Davis, Rhino Dave and the Cheeseman (who needs a nickname) i'm looking forward to all of it.
Floyd Mayweather insists the ball is in Conor McGregor's court ahead of a potential superfight between the pair.
Two-weight UFC champ McGregor and unbeaten boxing legend Mayweather continue to be linked with a big-money showdown which is tipped to smash box office records should a deal be struck.
And the American insists he has 'done his part' to make the fight happen.
Speaking to the BBC, he said: "I can't say if it's going to happen. It's all up to the UFC.
"I've done my part. I'm just waiting. If they want the fight to happen, let's see.
"When it comes to money, of course I'm always thinking business. But it's about entertainment. It's a very, very entertaining match-up."
Mayweather also took aim at David Haye ahead of the Londoner's grudge match with domestic rival Tony Bellew at The O2 on Saturday night.
Haye referred to Bellew's fans as 'f****** r*****s' at a press conference in the Bomber's native Liverpool earlier this week.
And Mayweather says he didn't even realise the Hayemaker was still active, before condemning his pre-fight antics.
"This is my first time hearing about the David Haye fight," added Mayweather. "I didn't know he was still fighting.
"As far as trash talk goes - it's OK to trash talk. But being disrespectful is different.
"I heard he was talking about the fans. He should focus on the fighter."
Floyd Mayweather insists the ball is in Conor McGregor's court ahead of potential superfight
Weighed in
Bellew - 212
Haye - 224
No aggro... head-to-heads when you're 10ft apart are pony. Fact.
whats a 'f****** r*****s'?
So Haye was 16 stone dead? if anyone has got a pic I would appreciate it. everybody been saying how shredded Haye was , but if I'm not mistaken, it's only 3 or 4 lbs difference to the last couple of fights. I thought it was all a bit exaggerated. it's where I thought he would be. a comfortable weight.
frigging rooster (don't justify Master's constant spamming of pointless articles by replying to them. Jesus)
Haye was super shreded with the weirdo tits
Bellew looked like he was a few pints away from a beer belly
Still... they haven't looked any different all through the buildup
ha soz
whats wrong with david hayes tits?
:) copy and paste it below

It's Funny because Haye weighs exactly the same weight as he did in his last fight. against De Mori he was only 3 lbs heavier. yet in those fights he definitely looked a bit porky.
Bellew can't even get a tupac never mind a sixer.
I've just paid box office ;D
And also bet on Haye to win in round 2....
9% body fat for Haye 25% for Bellew ?
See now what I don't get is that it's heavyweight , there's no limit, so why does Bellew strip down to his boxers? He's a stone lighter , but looks nowhere near as good, so why show everyone the difference?
If he weighed in with his trackies and hoodie and trainers on, nobody would be able to work out the difference and would have to keep guessing?
Don't think it makes a lot of difference, but every mental edge counts.
This is brilliant, the bloke is a fucking clown but its hard not to like him, go on the White Rhino

I like Paulie but I'm backing the Eggington here, come on the Brummy

to the people complaining that this is getting more publicity than the Garcia v Thurman fight, fucking hell watch the press conferences for each fight and tell me which one seems more interesting (not from a boxing fan point of view just in general)
Thurman - 'yeah...errm...well, yeah its a great fight, I wanna create a legacy, Danny Garcia is a great fighter and he keeps on winning but errrmm, I wanna win, I wanna prove I'm the best so eerrmm yeah I'm gunna keep it short, thank you and I'm gunna win'
Garcia - 'first off I wanna thank god...and my dad...I've been champion for 5 years now, I don't win because I know how to win, I win because I'm the best and I'm gunna prove that, it's a great fight between two great fighters''
Now lets go to London
Haye - 'you fucking retards, go bet all your money on your boy to win, I'm gunna put him in hospital, I'm gunna decapitate him, he looks like he's been eating all the pies, he's fat he's slow, I'm gunna fucking brutally knock him out'
Bellew - 'Shut up spongebob'
regardless of it being a mismatch and regardless of how good a fight Garcia v Thurman is, the Sky media machine is in full swing and they have sold Haye v Bellew to the max, the casual fan (in the UK especially) doesn't even know that Garcia and Thurman are fighting and they haven't really done a fat lot that I've seen to sell the fight themselves, yeah fights shouldn't rely on trash talking to sell it but unfortunately it helps massively.
Soon as I hear "First of all I'd like to thank god" I turn the telly over
If you don't wanna pay full price for the fight then open a new account with sky bet and put a fiver on Haye to win (make sure you register your mobile number when signing up)
Skybet will then text you a promo code to use so you can stream the fight online.
Won't cost you anything because Haye will win and you'll get your money back and you get to watch the fight, win win all around
That's a cool way to Book it @Batman - nice find
You don't even need to be a Sky subscriber for this one either which suggests to me two reasons why.... this has already done massive PPV buys already and they want to bring in as many non Sky customers as possible OR it's sold poorly so far and they've hit the panic button.
I'm 99% sure it's the first one
Does it work on virgin?
