Re: Twin Towers WTC v Grenfell Tower
It seems 60 tower blocks have failed fire tests up to now there could be 600 in all ! rehousing people will be a problem as the councils want theses tower blocks empty to do the work.
They are having problems as people will not move out the work needs to be carried out and people need a place to live this problem is basically people using cladding which is dangerous what a balls up.
In theses building fire safety is paramount and the so called experts have fucked up on cladding theses tower blocks it was not fire prof but very flammable.

Pretty much everything they test is failing. Penny pinching ahead of giving people just the basics. It's not a lot to ask that the building you are living in not be a potential fire hazard. Years of trying to get everything for the lowest cost and fucking over anyone who doesn't drive a Bentley and live in a luxury apartment. With a cabinet of millionaires it's not surprising but there should be an inquest and heads should roll. An inquiry will just let them pass the buck and not implement changes.
79 dead people surely warrant an inquest. Their lives must be worth that at least?
Apparently not though. We should be thinking of some poor bint who is worried about the wrong kind of people bringing down the value of her posh gaff.

Local Singles. So families are now the new target for your ire? You have half the year off what would you know about working hard? One rule for them and another for you?
There are more single people than ever and it is hard for them to find a home of their own without moving in with a stranger and renting a room. There is far less social housing for such people. Yeah enough already. We get it. You are a genius and everyone else is a chav or a dullard. You and Brockton sure seem like stable normal role models that us normal average working people would love our kids to grow up and be like.

You have got anger management issues. Deluded this, cunts that, fuck this. You go on about everyone else not being up to your high moral standards, but you should listen to yourself sometimes. You say you are not angry, but you sure sound it.
Nobody is saying anyone is a genius or that everyone is a chav or that anyone is a role model, but you go on and on trying to bring people down and Fenster did the same. I won't accept it as it is untrue. You wouldn't accept it if I started criticising nurses for being negligent, you certainly didn't like it when I said anyone could make an album, yet me and Brock are seemingly unable to defend ourselves or there be the slightest possibility that what we do requires a degree of skill and that not everyone can do it.
You say it is me talking about me all the time, but I didn't bring up being a two bob English teacher who just speaks English for a living. I merely defended it as a skilled profession which it obviously is.
Incredibly deluded? All I have done is cite things in a factual manner. There is no delusion whatsoever. Deluded is you reading into things that are not even there or else ranting over nothing. Notice how I have not tried to be aggressive or rude to you, yet all you do is hurl abuse at everybody. Yet you say you are not angry. It's just not how people talk to one another. It's a shame.

It may not be how you talk, but that is neither here nor there. You can't possibly expect to be taken seriously on anger management, or any of that rubbish, when the pair of you are so easily triggered.
You are apparently upset at what you perceive as rudeness in a thread about people killed in a fire.
Think about that for one second.
You have little to no perspective on most things. Nobody is trying to bring you down, Fenster is just pointing out the hypocrisy in your stance. You seem to think that you are alone in the world and that nobody else has ever educated themselves, left the country to work abroad or come from a council estate. You want the pats on the back for that and yet you can't even bring yourself to grant people the right to have children or choose to be a builder. There is nothing special about you and Brockton, you both seem incredibly miserable and unfulfilled doing the jobs you do, so much so that anything else is not a skilled profession in your eyes.
Most of the exceptionally intellectually and emotionally intelligent people that used to post here have fucked off, specifically because of the myopic cliquey bollocks that dominates the place now.

Re: Twin Towers WTC v Grenfell Tower
You are projecting again Beanz. You are reading things that are not there. Just maybe YOU have lost perspective. I don't expect a pat on the back, but will point out when things spoken are untrue. You say something untrue then I will respond with my truth. My truth was basically that I like not being around riff raff and that actually I am quite skilled. It was as simple as that. Doesn't mean that everyone is garbage and that I am God, but that's how it brewed in your head.
You know, I went for a walk today and no kids hanging around the street corner, no syringes on the floor, no people walking rottweilers, no debris from gang violence. Lovely. Council estates are rough and problematic and the children from poor, broken families do not do as well in life. It's just the reality. I prefer to be around peace, civility, and people who don't call other people a cunt.

Ah yes pedagogic grammar, that is like hearing the name of an old friend you haven't though of for years.
For anyone who doesn't know what it is, it is a description of how the grammar of a language should be used to communicate, it is quite a modern approach in linguistics and it is intended to aid in teaching additional languages.
Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about? if I do I apologise I just did a quick google cuz I wanna be involved

You are quite welcome, Batman. Even if you are from a council estate, I am more than happy to discuss this with you as there are worthy people from council estates too. You and I and others too. You are into books, so may I recommend Lightbown and Spada's "How languages are learned". It is an excellent appraisal of both 1st and 2nd language aquisition. For Beanz I recommend "Politeness: Some universals in language usage". I feel it may come in useful when it comes to his online posting style.

Fuck you. I am quite happy to not be considered worthy or polite if that is how shitty your value system is. The funny thing is real academics would laugh in your face.

Re: Twin Towers WTC v Grenfell Tower
I didn't put you down, miles. With the chance of an education and commitment any literal English speaker could do your job. They might not be as good as you, they might be better, but regardless they could do it.
You have an abnormal predisposition to be upset by people that don't regard you as a unique special snowflake.

The way you speak to people on this forum is appalling. Miles is correct about you you are an extremely unhappy person yet you go around telling me and miles that we are the ones who are unhappy when it is you. It is clear you're a very intellectual person I have always thought that from the very beginning I won't speak for miles but I'm sure he also thinks that. But it takes more than intellect beans. He's right about your style you're so abrasive and insulting to people it was my original problem with you back in 2013 when I email the mod one time and asked you to be warned or even banned because of how rude and abrasive you are being. It has been the case with you ever since that despite your high level of intellect which nobody can deny and your excellent sense of humor you also are such so incredibly and personally judgemental and insulting at times and that is the style that miles is referring to. Please don't take it like anyone is insulting your intelligence which is obviously extremely high and your wit and creativity which is also better than probably anybody else is here. But you just come out and say such personally judgemental moralistic and insulting things to people that that is what pisses everybody off

True, there are hundreds of thousands of excellent and talented teachers out there and people can dedicate themselves to it if they want to. I do the best I can, but I have my flaws like anyone. You do the best you can.

and then you act surprised ?
You said the same thing about re-homing the families affected by the fire. You would not want them in your block.
and I am the judgmental one ? ;D

Beanz's likes to piss on other people's chips. That is his job in life to bring everybody down. If you say something good about yourself he has to go on his soapbox and get on his high horse and say how that is arrogant or self-aggrandizing. You just can't make this stuff up. He must have been constantly put down by his parents when he was being raised and now he is projecting that on to everybody else.

Cut the amateur psychology bullshit and think about what you post. Nobody including me has a problem with people saying something good about themselves. Slagging off people purely because they are poor or live in a tower block etc is something entirely different. You both do it all the time. Dismiss whole swathes of people because in Miles case he actually thinks he is better, and in your case because you think it's what people want to hear. I am not triggered I am expressing my opinion and you can't handle anything but smoke being blown up your arse. It would be a bit weird if I had more sympathy for someone in a luxury apartment being allergic to homeless people being rehoused then fire victims, but that is you and Miles position not mine.
Your contribution to the entire forum is just the fuck everyone off for the sake of it like a three year old, it's hardly constructive.

Fuck you. I am quite happy to not be considered worthy or polite if that is how shitty your value system is. The funny thing is real academics would laugh in your face.
But you just come out and say such personally judgemental moralistic and insulting things to people that that is what pisses everybody off
This is your kill free speech bollocks again. If you want beige prose you are in the wrong place. How would you possibly know anything about me if all I do is piss on other people's chips? The forum is littered with you and Miles opinions on everything and 99% is moaning or childish crap designed to get a reaction. Very little real content at all. I am not an intellectual I am an ordinary bloke with quite an average IQ who loves boxing. It's what brought me here and why I stay. it used to have loads of other fun stuff too but most of the people that posted back then have gone. How many of them did you ask to get banned? There are many, many people who post in the boxing sections but nowhere else here and I can't say I blame them. It's now like the worst kind of cliquey club where if you don't know the posters or refuse to toe the line you are made to feel like the freak. Fuck being one of you lot. Most of you don't even watch boxing for fucks sake.
I don't cut my arms, i don't wait hanging on for the next terrorist atrocity so that I can gleefully say "I told you so" or try to be more authentic than everyone else or own four smoking jackets for Christ's sake. You lot are fucking mental and I am not projecting anything.

No you didn't. You say things like
"I went for a walk today and no kids hanging around the street corner, no syringes on the floor, no people walking rottweilers, no debris from gang violence. Lovely. Council estates are rough and problematic and the children from poor, broken families do not do as well in life. It's just the reality. I prefer to be around peace, civility, and people who don't call other people a cunt."
and then you act surprised ?
You said the same thing about re-homing the families affected by the fire. You would not want them in your block.
and I am the judgmental one ? ;D
pair of jokers
Earlier in the thread I said I wouldnt want to be around dodgy scallies in my building. Never once did I mention the people from Grenfell. It's fake information meant to make me look bad but it did not happen.
You are manipulating information. You are trolling me.

I've tried to steer clear of insults of ANY kind towards Beanz lately....yet I find if I make the personal decision NOT to insult or call names there's no reciprocity. I'm not going to complain about it(the comment about it was just that a COMMENT, a statement of fact) , I'd just say that if it's your personal choice to go the insult route then what you get in response to what you post isn't anyone's fault but your own.

Lyle feel free to say anything to me. I have never once complained about you being abusive or attacking me personally etc. I really could not give a fuck about that and in fact it's probably the one thing you posting lacks. But you can't expect to post offensive bollocks in a thread like this and then have everyone comb your hair for you. You can have whatever opinion you like but if you are more worried about property values than human life then don't be surprised if people think it makes you sound like a bit of a cunt.

Trolling you ? what by replying to your posts in a thread? ;D miles this is a thread about the Grenfell Tragedy. Who exactly did you think people where referring to when they said they did not even want them NEXT DOOR to their block?
and you have absolutely ripped in to people who live in council housing in the thread as though they were the very dregs of society. It's a load of bollocks.

Yyyyyeah, sure thing not you "personally" you just get offended for everybody else
(here's another question, lost to the sands of time....not answered by Beanz) What have I said in this thread that is "offensive bollocks"? :tumbleweed:
Who is more worried about property values than human life? If I lose my house I don't get a free pass to move into Beverly Hills, that's not how things work. Insurance is there to help make whole people who have suffered a loss. Moving from Grenfell Tower to a "luxury flat" is above and beyond "making whole" AND all I did was say you cannot and should not be able to coerce anyone into selling something they own just because of your feelings.....property rights don't work that way.
But please, go ahead, tell me what I posted that was, and I quote "offensive bollocks"? I'm only going to keep asking until you answer me. You've misinterpreted one of my posts either by accident or on purpose to make yourself feel better.....I do wish you'd have the self awareness to admit that, but I can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which hand fills up first.

Re: Twin Towers WTC v Grenfell Tower
Lyle your first post was
Well didn't they have insurance ?
Well quite a lot of them are dead and those that are not are not going to have insurance to cover the eventuality of a block they don't own being completely gutted by fire.
Then you went off on one about Corbyn wanting to requisition private property, and how you unlike anyone you don't understand .."Believe in property rights"
Then when you found out the Government was not going to requisition anything and would just pay extra to get social housing ready quicker, you went on one about the rights of some stuck up twat in a luxury apartment not wanting ordinary people next door.
That is all offensive bollocks. Not one simple word for the victims or dismay at the idea of cost cutting costing human lives. Just sympathy for someone living in luxury having to suffer the ignominy of the people who make London work living next door to her.
Social Housing - Grenfell Tower
Where they are gong to be re-homed - Social Housing
Nobody is being turfed out of anywhere the homes are not even finished. Stop telling is how to run our country, First Brexit then the election and now
"I believe in property rights"
Who cares ? you don't live here, and you can spend as much time living in la la Lyle land as you want, but you don't get to tell people that they can't run their country different to yours.

Re: Twin Towers WTC v Grenfell Tower
If they were put up in these luxury pads then what happens about the rent (sorry I really haven't been keeping up on it in the news and I can't make head nor tail of this thread, it's like wading through shit, I'm just enjoying the arguments at the minute.
Would the people who are shifted in there get it rent free forever or would they get it at the same rates they were paying before, would it be at a discounted rate for only a certain period of time?
I mean it is a bit shitty for Joe Bloggs up the road who's house burns down and he is out of his ear through no fault of his own without the offer of a luxury apartment, its also a wee bit shitty for the neighbours who pay full whack on their rent knowing that loads of people are being moved in rent free or with a massive discount.
Again, I'm not saying I disagree just that I don't know how it would work and would like to be enlightened.
-
Re: Twin Towers WTC v Grenfell Tower
Any temporary housing is legit. But if they move them in there permanently that would be bullshit.

Re: Twin Towers WTC v Grenfell Tower
Fucking hell. :vd:
FAKE NEWS
They are being moved into social housing. Not luxury housing.
The people moaning are the ones living in luxury housing next door to the social housing. How bloody inhumane is that?
Moaning because people who had all their worldly possessions and some who have lost family members are moving into an unfinished block next door that was always set aside for social housing.
Without that social housing the developer would not have been given the permission to build the luxury flats the whingy people are living in.
When I first moved to London to work, I actually camped in Biggin Hill woods, because it took me so long to find an affordable place to live, and that was on the outskirts in Bromley. Central London, Kensington etc you are having a laugh. They will charge you thousands for a broom cupboard,

:vd: Well #1 My first post was calling smashup dumb for doing the whole "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams" nonsense #2 my 2nd post in total was (and I quote) "So I know that these folks weren't the best off to start with but did they not have Renter's Insurance? Typically that covers "Loss of Use" which is certainly covered in the case of a fire. Granted that's not for like extended stays in other places, but it's enough to get you to a new place.....probably hard in such a big city, but typically actuaries take that into account with premium prices and the like"...but YOU find that to be offensive, YOU and nobody else. Nobody else commented about how offended they were THAT I ASKED A FUCKING QUESTION!
Quote:
Well quite a lot of them are dead and those that are not are not going to have insurance to cover the eventuality of a block they don't own being completely gutted by fire.
I know it was a tragedy and yes insurance is there for such tragedies not only would/should the CITY of London had insurance on the entire fucking building BUT individuals living at the property will have (if this is on the up and up) been REQUIRED BY LAW to have something called 'Renters Insurance' which would provide for...as I've been apparently telling the brick wall that lives inside your skull....LOSS OF USE which would cover temporary housing :vd: but "That is all offensive bollocks"....yes making sure that the poor aren't taken advantage of or set up for failure is "That is all offensive bollocks".
Good for you, standing up for the little man! They don't need no stinking insurance! They will just take from the rich because that's a more fair system than the one in place. Bravo, well done you must feel so very very proud of yourself.
The idea that the average person who lived in Grenfell couldn't afford the shit maybe 50 pounds a YEAR for insurance on their personal property....THAT sir is offensive, how fucking lowly you think of the poor...you must feel awfully big about yourself though....BIG MAN Beanz fighting the battles so the poor don't have to. You're fucking pathetic.
