Holy shit. Wilder took it all and he's still there. What have they got left?
BOOOOOOM
Wilder was on queer street then, will Ortiz have punched himself out though
ref buys Wilder 10 seconds..wtf was that
old man might have fucked himself
Wilder finally discovering the huge problem with waiting to learn on the job. Ortiz lasering in shots, credit Wilder moving ugly but still loading up for finish. 8th all Ortiz
remember AJ didn't know where he was for 2 rounds during the Klit fight.
Wilder has got off lightly with that round.
Wilder is going to one brick him and be called a great before nights over. Watch ;D
Johnny Nelson wants to suck Wilder off
6-3 Ortiz. Both exchange at bell. Eating my boot that this went rounds.
Fookin Wilder hurts him but throws him down. Better finish him son. Right here right now
Fuck. Heavyweight boxing.
Wilder pulls one out of the fire, brutal finish finally.
Well there we go then, Ortiz put on a good show but the old legs couldn't take it.
I wonder what Wilder Joshua would make on US PPV if it took place in America. It won't happen obviously but interesting. Hearn won't be rushing to make the fight anytime soon.
Not very impressive from Wilder, but as always he gets the finish. Still think he stops Joshua in 4.
Paulie needs to stop with the AJ v Wlad stuff. Wlad is Wlad and tested himself over many years. Ortiz is skilled but ends there. Wilders best win though.
All three judges had Wilder in front. Unbeliveable.
Old man really did need a KO to win.
Ortiz missed a trick there, he had his moment. Credit to Wilder, he took some clumps, most expected him to fold like a house of cards under proper fire. He was smart enough to take the round off too when his primary instinct is to fight. Violent finish as ever.
Joshua Wilder is still a toss up. Nothing really changes so long as neither of them loses.
Wilder's right hand is still intact too.
right then, I'm off to bed, I'll watch Bivol and Kov in a few hours
Ortiz thanks God for fighting for WBC...brilliant. Know AJ won't happen soon, I'd like to see him batter Fat Baby in meantime.
WTF was the ref doing at the start of the round when Wilder was wobbly ?
Gave Wilder an extra 35 seconds to recover ?
Ive not screamed at the tv in a long time. Ortiz did have his moment in my eyes. Should of focused on taking Wilder out while he had the chance.
I Knew wilder had more second wind if he found his legs again and i know Ortiz would be gassing in the later rounds if the fight upped pace.
It is what it is. I really wanted Ortiz to give Wilder a boxing lesson and he did for the best part of the fight. The best man won obviously but i don't think Wilder can unify with that sloppy swingy bandy style he has. He can't rely on that wild right against everyone. Can he?
Style wise Ortiz is king of the HW division. Fitness is another issue.
Great fight. Happy i stayed up to watch it.
The slow mo of Wilder trying to finish him is another classic, he must be doing it on purpose now.
How can someone so clueless at boxing be so "lucky" ... ignoring the horse shoe he carries in his right glove.
Ortiz got shafted .
For a fight that started so boring it ended very exciting.
Wilder proved three things tonight. First off, he is tough. Second, he is an awful boxer. Third, he hits hard.
Wilder has one thing that is power , he is an awful boxer. I would have loved for him to be trained by manny stewart he has a great physical shape for Kronk , tall and lean , fast and KO POWER.
Do we make Wilder favourite over Joshua now ?
Not for Me. If he fights that way against Joshua, of course he has a chance, but Joshua will hurt him a lot more. Joshua is fitter than Ortiz and will not give Wilder that opening.
I can’t believe the judges had Wilder up on points, so Hearn will probably swing towards making the fight in the UK.
Wilder is worth absolute peanuts compared with Joshua, it's not even viable the fight happens in America.
He got $2m for this fight from a $2.5m pot. He refused $3m to fight Dylan White then created some massive circus about Joshua ducking him whilst demanding 50-50 and home advantage.
However, Joshua is ducking him (he deserves credit for pulling the facade off).
Lets not forget it could be Wilder vs Parker 😛
Wilder is too crude and unskilled to beat AJ. They will hype it up for all it is worth but after AJ beats Parker and Wilder it will be Wlad who will have given Joshua his hardest fight.
Joshua has the better skills for sure, but Wilder does have the better jab. That combined with the range and scary right hand ensures he’d have a very good chance, IMO. It’s a fight that needs to happen
Joshua may be surprised by wilder for a couple of rounds, but he's compact enough to ride any initial storm and stop Wilder. Much younger and fresher than what Wilder has faced before.
And depending what Tyson surfaces out of his rehabilitation, he may school them both.
