I have a theory that The Annunciation is such a recurring theme in these altar pieces because they are a reminder that the wealthy patrons (it is often their patron saints on the outside of the panels) are trying to justify their own role as Lords or Kings, as though that feudal role was also bestowed upon them by Gd.

They dont ask where the individual is from/what their heritage is, and it came back PRECISELY what her family has always known: 66.5% Bengal/West Bengal State, 23.5% Uttar Pradesh/Rampur and about 10% Patna/Bihar district all in India. They are extremely accurate with both mitochondrial DNA and y-chromosome from the paternal side.
What makes it even more amazing is that her family left India in 1903 for Guyana. So there is no way for 23 and Me to have known that.
