Watched Rise of the Apes.
It's was great. Like seriously great. But, and this is a BIG but...
I felt I got totally ripped off and they only gave me 1/2 a movie. I realise they are building a franchise and the whole story can't be all in the first movie, but I wanted moar! Maybe it was just so good and every other movie I've seen lately so bad, that instead of wanting to walk out early, I wanted to stay another hour instead. :dontknow:
But I highly recommend.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I've got 'Source Code' for tonight, I shall report back tomorrow

Felt exactly the same mate, could of sat another hour or so watching that !!
-
Yeah apes was good but did feel like it had an abrupt ending. Lincoln lawyer was good, altho a bit out there at times. Limitless was dissapointing, can't really root for the protagonist he's a douche and junkie, and some other shit is implied.

I watched the classic "The French Connection" quality movie!
Next up in my queue I've got: Day of the Jackal(good movie), The Running Man, The Good Shepherd (great movie), LA Confidential, The Birds and some others.
I've also got documentaries coming too. The First World War, The Endurance (about the Shackleton expedition in Antarctica), and Napoleon all of which I find fascinating.

You do realise it is 2011. :)
-
Yes and in the year 2011 they make very few movies I want to see.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)

I didn't think it was great, but very watchable. I went in with lowish expectations, so was pleasantly surprised.

I've watched about 4 films within the last 7 days that starred Vera Farmiga. (departed, orphan, source code & some other horror flick)
There is something about that woman that I can't get enough of :)
Besides being beautiful, she is a very good actress. And so is that black guy (looks aside ;D), I can't remember his name but he is in Ali and Casino Royale. Very diverse and convincing.

Tell the truth. Immediately after watching the film, was you over-analysing things with your eyes? ;D

Transformers 3? Green Lantern? Awful, I'm surprised how anyone can watch this shit.
As for me 'Not only but always'. Fucking brilliant. Not popular but great.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Funny Games (USA version)
I saw this German/Dutch (not sure) film years ago when video shops still existed. Utterly POINTLESS remake as it was basically the exact same. Whilst watching I thought it must have been the same director. It was.
Horrible, horrilble film, which is of course the point.

Believe it or not Miles sometimes people just want to be entertained by a movie for a couple of hours, it doesnt need to stimulate their intellect, doesnt need to be happy, or sad or anything..............just a couple of hours of disengage your brain at the door entertainment.

True, but watching a film with no discernible plot and is basically a showcase for CGI robots, is not my way for a good time.
-
Just saw the source code, reminded me of 12 monkeys, not as good as the later but still a good watch.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
American The Bill Hicks Story.
Now watching right now - Fright Night - The proper one, with Roddy McDowall. I love him.
..plus it has Sparks on the soundtrack. Double winner.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
The time travelers wife. 7 Great film easy to watch. Eric Banner always believable.
The lovely bones. 7 Very haunting with a very touching plot in a macabre way.

Is that the 1980's one?
I just watched 'The Day of The Jackal' about the true story about OAS trying to assassinate Charles DeGaule. Great story, great scenery, and damn near true to life.
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
The Change Up it was good...
Not as funny as I thought it would be but had some good moments.
Olivia Wilde fucken hooooot!
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
The last film I kinda watched was Fright Night... Didn't watch alot of it, as one of the actors really annoys me but I thought Colin Farrell was playing the part quite authentically which was a suprise.
Miles, I understand you live in Korea... are there any films you would reccommend?
