I would say Primo Carnera... ;)
Even I will admit that Sergie Lyakhovich was a shitty champion. And I am a BIG SL fan. He had an awesome fight to win his title, then when it came to defend it,..........he really stunk up the place. I was so disappointed. My whole family was there to see this fighter that I had been supporting. I think that after that they thought I was in some kind of cult that propped up shitty boxers. THen his comeback has been almost as crappy as his defense.
But I would say That Briggs was a shittier champion.
Ruiz is a better champion than you all give him credit for, he has been competitive with many different people.......despite his shitty ass style.
i got to say the ambling alp primo carnera most of his fights where fixed.
i dont know why people would have buster douglas and hasim rahman they
both had great jabs douglas could knock guys out with a jab the main problem he had was mental phsically he had the tools to be a great champion if only his mind was right, could be abit chiny at times tho
in his comeback days
Bruce Seldon with the way he about pissed himself when Tyson almost hit him.
Joe Hipp.....whom Seldon beat for the title
....yes but SKILL would be the determining factor in the WORST ever champion
He was WBF champ ;D...wasn't that Audley's title???
Hipp was all guts and some Glory...Remember his war with Morrison.Awesome fight but He was never a heavyweight Top three alphabet soup group champion....
I remember Bruce Seldom Seldon outjabbing the Hell out of Tony Tucker to win the WBA Championship...........and then falling to the canvas and crying and sobbing.........his corner people actually stood over him saying "Get up Bruce...come on act like a champ...:-X:-XTelling stuff
I was at one point sold on Seldon.......Killer speed and piston jab. Then came Ribalta,Mccall wrecked him.An internal purring kitten in a roaring lions body.
Pinklon Thomas never particularly impessed me. Mike Weaver is another one. As mentioned above Carnera was probably among the worst. That said I have seen some footage where he actually looked ok and had decent speed for such a big guy.
I was always a fan of "The Boss"....He gave a good efforet whenever he stepped in the ring...never to be mistaken with a fighter of exceptional talent but there was just something likable about the guy as a fighter...Maybe it was the fact he always gave an hinest effort in there and tried the best with what he had....
Sad part is there are a hundred guys at least I can name with more skill the Joe but don't put foruth the effort he used to
shannon briggs is awful.
Shannon Briggs is up there and thats why I voted "Other."
