From what I have seen of Abraham and JT's lackluster performances,it would be a good fight. JT's offence isn't particularly great and Abraham could block most of it!
Miranda has power, could he take advantage of Taylor being open or always backing up?
I don't know, Abraham is like a poor man's Wright. And with that broken jaw we don't know how he'd respond and Jermain has the tools to beat anyone he just doesn't do anything with them, his jab could have made last night easy but he didnt use it.
Not trying to be pushy...but what makes you say that he's a poor man's Wright?
I don't see that...& I really like both of them. Abraham's defense isn't a flash in the pan compared to Wright's & his jab is almost non-existent.
Again...I aint trying to put you on the spot...I just wanna get into this.
No one talks about Abraham...& that's a shame. The guy's a hell of a fighter...guts it out too. Loved the Eastman fight & the Miranda bout too.

I think I should have said more of a poor mans Sturm. And I called him a poor mans Wright because he has a very good arm defense. You're right that he doesn't have the same type of jab but he has beautiful counters with his turns.
He's more like Sturm but he just needs to add a better jab.
Against Jermain would be a good fight because they both have tools and both are still flawed fighters when it comes down to it.

Gotcha. Feel you there 100%. :coolclick:
Thing is...he's got a hell of a lot bigger chin & apparently much more heart than Sturm in hind sight.

Personally I think they should crack down big time on holding, and I've said that for awhile, not just cause of this fight.
If you're hurt badly, fine. But otherwise, if you're just clinching whenever the other guy gets inside that should be illegal. If you don't have an inside game, if you're inside defense is nonexistent, that's on you. You should have to work on it, not just be able to grab a guy repeatedly.
Cool Click brother ! We in agreement there baby ! my thoughts exactly. When you consider the fact that holding is a foul, and when implemented into a strategy is 100% illegal. I been bitching about this for years !
I don't think too many people understand this is a foul , including corner man and some fighters.. during the fight they need to make a serious issue of the excessive holding by their opponent. and make the ref understand that it is a flagrant foul . tell the ref if he is not doing anything about... Jay Nady has a clear understanding of this and usually very good about keeping the holding to a minimum . I love him for that !

He showed it in his last fight but I don't like all the talk surrounding it about it and the downgrading and everything like that people do and stuff like that. I'm sure thats 90 percent of his promotional company though thats talking all the trash that they have.

Holding should be kept to a minimum but it is as you said the ref's job to keep the guys out of the clinch.
Now it's a good way to reset if you're the taller guy if you go in, don't likewhat you see, initiate a clinch and the ref seperates you.
If you're the smaller guy you're S.O.L if you get clinched on the way in because that's how you do your damage but it's your job to keep you're hands free, you don't have to let the guy tie you up.
I think what Wlad does is ok but what Ruiz has done in the past is horrid. Not because I like Wlad more than Ruiz but because Wlad doesn't stay in the clinch the whole time, he likes being on the outside he's a taller guy and the outside is his best friend. Ruiz is an average sized heavyweight and he uses the clinch to tire out his opponent and foul them by hitting during the clinch

Seriously, I do overlook fine details. I figure once you get in the ring personally history is moot. Honestly, I would think he would suffer from some kind of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and have some issues in the ring.
This was what made world's worst/dumbest boxing commentator Lennox Lewis's characterization of Ouma as a "happy-go-lucky guy" so funny.
Re: Unimpressive Jermaine Taylor tonight
Eh... I'm a bit disapointed that my boy Ouma couldn't pull off the upset like I predicted he would. But it's tough to win a fight when you are being FUCKING HELD EVERY 10 SECONDS!!! Emmanuel Steward has turned Jermaine Taylor into Wladimr Klitschko, cept with less power and more of a chin. Its just constant freakin backing up and holding from Taylor. We all knew Taylor was a fraud, who lost to B-hop twice, and Winky once, but shouldn't he be able to beat a small jr. middle who lacks KO power without constantly running and holding? Ouma did pretty good, best he could under the circumstances, and took some great shots. I had him winnin bout 4 rounds, it was by no means a dominant win like HBO tried to make it out to be. Bitches. >:mad
Re: Unimpressive Jermaine Taylor tonight
....it's another heavy flow day for Mrs. Hulk.
I get you don't like Wlad, you don't like Manny, you don't like Jermain Taylor....that's great it's wonderful you dig on boxers who throw skill out the window and just go for broke and never set up any punches or use a jab or roll with punches except for that fat tub of goo James Toney who actually knows how to box.
JT didn't look his best vs Ouma but he can blame that on the fact he was swinging for the fences from the get go....he didn't fight smart, had he, it would have been a short night and that is what Manny has to teach him to do, fight calm and with a plan and less like Ricardo Mayorga.
As for B-Hop you cannot give away 6 rounds of a fight and expect to be a winner it's fucking ridiculous what he did vs Taylor it was horrible strategy on Bernard's part but he did it TWICE!!!!
Winky deserved a rematch but didn't take it...Taylor wants to fight him again I am sure but you cannot blame what the judges saw on Jermain it's shooting the messenger...those judges could have scored it for Winky just as easy but they didn't and it's not Jermain's fault it's the judges

Yes, you're a fag we get it Lyle. I mean it's not like I'm a huge fan of ROY JONES, B-Hop, and James Toney, all of whom have more talent in their little finger than fukin Jermain Taylor or Wladimir have in their whole bodies. Your an idiot man, plain and simple. Bernard NEVER gave up 6 straight rounds, HBO's commentators made you believe that crap cus you're gullible and don't know how to score a fight. Same as they made you believe that he won the 12th against Wright, when he clearly did not. We get that you want to suck off Wlad, thats cool, whatever man. But his excessive holding is cowardly, illegal and boring, same as Jermaine's was last night. It's kinda pathetic that all ya got to discredit me with is that I like Mayorga, as if that's the only fighter I like. I've tried to be patient and get a long with ya man, but damnit if I'm not tired of your mouth. No respect for anyone, man, ya got no respect anyone's opinion if they disagree with ya.

What I do is bounce when a taller fighter would clinch and put his chin on my shoulder, I would just start bouncing str8 up and down HARD . Pop their jaw real good, My way of saying let me the fuck go ! Hehehe., the refs frown on it, and they say “stop that “ then I’d say “ what the fuck? tell him to stop gabbing me“. As short fighter you got to find ways to break that hold yourself , cause when the ref steps in and separates you a mile from your target, you got to do all that work again to get back inside only to get tied up .. its bullshit . Can't let that happen over and over again and expect to win. I think its only fair that the referee starts to take points away from the compulsive holder at some point. Cause the short man have no chance if the tall fighter is allowed to foul over and over again.

CC. I agree. Jermaine should have been penalized for the crap he pulled last night.
Re: Unimpressive Jermaine Taylor tonight
No I have the fight on my comp and I have watched it tons of times Bernard just tried to wait out JT's stamina and he thought wrong.
B-Hop did not really even TRY to fight a single round until the 5th or 6th round...sound on or sound off he lost 6 straight rounds dude, in both fights. I've watched again and again and I try to see where B-Hop wins one of the early rounds and he doesn't. But the thing is he ALWAYS waited to start fighting vs Joppy, vs Trinidad, vs De la Hoya....Hopkins was very patient and it finally cost him because someone did the math and went after him to grab up those early rounds and build a cushion
I didn't say anything about the Winky fight other than he deserved a rematch I didn't say he won or lost
You hate on HBO commentators or the judges hating on a fighter because THE JUDGES said he won is ridiculous.
I'm not saying you HAVE to like Jermain but you hate on him for something he had no part of doing which is judging a fight.
be tired of my mouth all you like I'm just saying Jermain has talent but it's very raw and having a trainer like Manny will help him. He's not the kind of fighter who can just go in and throw punches and rely on his power or his punch output like a Ricardo Mayorga not that he's not talented but it's a different kind of talent. JT has physical attributes which help his fight game, and Mayorga has his they are different but I just think you totally discredit Jermain when it's obvious the guy has talent.
Mayorga and fighters like him are able to go full steam ahead, and improvise an attack. Taylor seems like he wants to just go out there and brawl but he doesn't have that in him, when he tries his punches get wide and his misses too often. Being selective on when you throw and being patient with your attack is not a sign of little skill but is just different than what brawlers do. JT doesn't need to do that and yes he did need to hold on the inside or spin out on Ouma because when a guy throws that many punches you cannot let him let his hands go.
Sorry I offended you but I (like yourself) get tired of people hating on boxers I like as well
Re: Unimpressive Jermaine Taylor tonight
To stay out of the clinch as a short fighter you need to throw to the body and throw up the middle with short punches.
If that doesn't help
Headbutts and elbows are "accidents" they just "happen".....it's a "shame" they cause cuts and bleeding.
Watch Mike Tyson in his prime...elbows, forearm on the throat, short quick punches....that keeps you out of the clinches as does good footwork
