so why did u boy price them selvs out to fight joe then big boy? u eithe rknow S*** about boxing or are just a racist prick, my guess is both.
You mean like when Calzcrappy price himself out against Sven Ottke? Hell, he wouldn't of even had to leave Europe for that fight. I don't have to wonder about you. I already know you know nothing about boxing. That little pick of Calzcrappy you have up (and your moronic posts) tell me your nothing but a lust filled groupie.
still cant answer that question can you? any idiot with the msot remote boxing knowlage would understand why any fighter with a belt wudn't go to germany to fight otte - fact is you slate calzaghe for not fighting kessler, when countless times hopkins and RJJ priced thems elves out even when the fight was in their back yard, and you got nothing, only childish imature insults.
At first I taught you were just acting stupid. Now I know you really are. Why do you Calzcrappy groupies always use the Hopkins situation to try and back up your boy? When in reality all it does is show your boys true lack of heart. Now I'm going explain this shit to you one more time. So call your mom over to the computer and have her read this shit to your little ass. Alright, kid? That way you can completely understand this shit. So here we go.
Hopkins did verbally accept (he hadn't signed a contract, yet) a $3 million offer to fight Calzaghe. But before he could sign a contract, Oscar De La Hoya expressed an intrest to fight Hopkins. Hopkins knew (hell, everybody knew) a De La Hoya fight was worse 10 times (if not more) than a Calzaghe fight. Not to mention the fact that his purse would be 3 times what his purse for the Calzaghe fight would be. Since no contracts were signed, Hopkins was within his right to pull out of the Calzaghe fight. Anybody with any brains would of done the same thing. But rather than just dismiss Calzaghe completely, Hopkins actually gave him an option. Double his purse and the fight can go on. 6 million was not a price out number. It was a reasonable amount. Hopkins was the undisputed middleweight champion and at the time was consider the p4p # 1 fighter. Not to mention the fact that Hopkins was the one who was going to Calzaghe's division. Not the other way around. Since Calzaghe had been crying for years that he wanted to fight a big name, this shouldn't of been much of a problem. But it was. Calzaghe (not surprisingly) decline the offer and went back to his usual crying that he can't get a big fight. That's why he's in the situation he's in now. Fighting a reality TV star, in what in his head is considered a big fight.
ahahaa ;D
Nice spin.
The Hopkins method: Educated duck.
Dress it up anyway you want Hopkins ducked him to fight easier foes for less dough. ;)
He's actually right. The 3 fights Hopkins took before Del La Hoya were necessary for the De La Hoya fight to happen. The Morrade Hakkar fight was a joke. But it was also a WBC mandatory. Hopkins took it to keep from being stripped. Hopkins was still under contract to Don King for one more fight. The William Joppy fight took care of that. He than fought Robert Allen to stay busy/showcase while Oscar fought for the one belt Hopkins didn't own. The WBO. In the end it all lead to Hopkins making the most money he ever made. Which was more than 3 times what his purse for the Calzaghe fight would of been. For you to say Hopkins ducked anybody is just silly. The man is not afraid of anybody. While I won't call him a coward, I really can't say the same about Calzaghe.
Irrelevant.
Whats silly is to insinuate Calzaghe's a coward when it was HOPKINS, DOUBLING a career high pay day, that scuppered a fight between the two. Fact.
Don't think anyone would claim Hopkins made bad decisions. Quite the opposite. $10m to fight a little welterweight? Smart move. ;)
Don't confuse posts. I've never once called Calzaghe a coward. I just pointed out that it was foolish to say Hopkins ducked Calzaghe. And your right my post was irrelevent, since Violent D had already answered your question and pretty much shut you up in the process.

OK bud you weren't insinuating anything.
Now, before this turns into a complete farce, why don't you find my question, post it, and post VDs answer (even though he hasn't replied to anything ive said ;D). I think you'll stop confusing yourself then. ;)
Re: This will happen if Calzaghe fought Kessler
Vd didn't answer jack, the only fight that what needed was hakker, hopkins cud of fought joe as the second or third fight before de la hoya. All Vd is saying is it is ok for hopkind to fight 3 bums (given 1 was a mandetory) to take on a ww for alot of money, but when calzaghe takes on cintender and former no 3 in the world to try land a fight with taylor, hes wrong?

My apologies to Fenster. There was no way Oscar would of deal ed with Don King. So Hopkins had to fight Joppy to fullfill his contract. That's consider necessary. The Allen fight was a stay busy fight. Why couldn't Calzaghe of been the opponent instead of Allen, you ask? Cuz there is no way Calzaghe would of fought for the money Allen fought for. Now you understand? Look I don't share the same opinion as Violent D regarding Calzaghe. I think he's a very good fighter. I just don't understand his thinking. He's looking for big money fights, yet he turns down 3 million. And from what I hear he's looking for Taylor. Not the other way around. Oscar came looking for Hopkins. So there is a chance that all of Joe's current moves will lead to nothing.

An agressive Joe jumps straight into Kessler's oldest tactic. To skip back when in a little "trouble" and hope the opponent follows in order to keep the perceived pressure on. He plants his feet the second he land from the skip and smack!
Joe is looked after by the medical staff and only 4 minutes later Joe is able to stand up and the crowd cheer. Joe has won more from this loss than from all his wins added up ;D
Kessler is as one dimensional as lacy and would end up completley confused, trying to work out what angle he was gonna get hit from next... No way does Joe stop him, but wins a fairly easy decision . Calzaghe has too much speed an natural ability. The only way Mikkel beats him is KO and that aint gonna happen IMO

Re: This will happen if Calzaghe fought Kessler
Well being a Kessler fan ( just look old post) I was also disappointed that the fight will not happen in the near future. But the fact is that Kessler needs to prove what he is made of against worldclass fighters before Calzaghe will consider this match.
I think that Joe C has proven he is one of the best. IMO Kessler is not that far behind and deserved a shot now, but he is not in the picture anymore.
I hope the comming Kessler fights he will prove to live up to the high Danish hopes, but the description of Kessler here is just plain stupid. Fair enough that fans disagree but come on and be real. This discussion could have come from the kindergarden ;D
pace be with yo O0

But Joe was able to knockout Mkrtchian, Veit, Mitchell, Sheika, & about 26 or 27 others.
Kessler hasn't knocked them out.
The thing is...people focus on knockouts too much & when trying to complain about Calzaghe's opposition...they often forget to recognize the one's that are quality or how they were stiff competition.
Calzaghe is one hell of a boxer...the thing that bothers me about Kessler fans (& lately...I am a bit ashamed to call myself one for fear of appearing border line fanatical) is that the majority of them get a bit holier than though regarding his performances & the men that he has fought.
Kessler is not infallable. He's not almighty. There are holes in his defense & weaknesses that will be easily exposed & capitalized upon when he steps up to one of the top fighters...actually...he is on top of the pile...but when he & Calzaghe fight...he'll have a hard night at it.
In the end...I am pissed off at Joe for not taking the challenge...but maybe the rivalry needs to build & maybe in a year or so...maybe the fight will happen & maybe we will all get some answers...either way...I'm interested to see how it all pans out.

noone is saying that Calzaghe wasn't good. The issue is that he is protected and acts like a chicken.
I hope you are right but I don't think you are -- EVERYTHING in Calzaghe's career and behavior suggests that this fight will never be made. If it gets made though, my respect for Calzaghe will skyrocket, even if he loses.

Who ever said that joe is either scared or bla bla something about wont unify the titles..
one.. fair play joe IS finally looking for larger fights.. i didnt say big fights just yet..
and hes decided that titles mean S*** when your fighting nobodies.. took him long enough..
and two.. he's dropped the ibf title so what is the point of having a fight with a barely heard of fighter like kessler when its not a complete unification anymore..
Mikkel needs the fight but joe doesnt..
And dont no one call me a nut hugger for calzaghe cos i dont like the guy..
what ive said is just true..
First of all, let's not forget that Calzaghe holds the WBO belt, which means he practically never had to fight a mandatory. His manager chose against who he would "defend" his "title". This is, of course, a travesty.
Moreover, as soon as Calzaghe got his hands on a half-decent belt (IBF) he dropped it. It's easy to figure out why: the IBF may have required Calzaghe one day to defend against a decent opponent of THEIR chosing -- say, a slick counterpuncher. They may even have held purse bids that Warren could have lost. Shock horror. Far too hot to handle
Re: This will happen if Calzaghe fought Kessler
If Joe C. really wanted the recognition and respect of the people he'd be fighting Kessler but hes not instead hes fighting Peter. It's that simple...... :)
