What about Timothy Ray Bradley? I've missed him when he was on Shobox but he's supposed to be fun to watch, not sure how good he really is though.

He looked mediocre in winning a decision against Jaime Rangel, I thought he lost that fight honestly. Then in his last fight, I forget against who, but a pretty good opponent, he looked very very good and stopped the guy. So go figure.Quote:

No order
Anthony Thompson (and he sparred with PBF for the ODH fight, i'm sure that helped)
K9 Bundarage- i dont know how to spell his first name ;D but he's getting a lot of publicity from the Contender, and the only one from that season i see really going anywhere.
Dat Nuygen- Nasty body shots
Paul Malignaggi- sure he hits as hard as a new born infant, but he showed a lot of heart vs Cotto and i seen one of his training videos, pretty good
Miguel Cotto- Nasty body shots, good chin (we think)
Paul Williams- probably needs to move up in weight class, and i believe he can exposed Margarito as the Overhyped B-class fighter he really is
who do yall think is the future of boxing
If paul williams beats margaritto well then he's gonna be the guy to beat.
K-9, I sparr with him sometimes, he's Strong as shit but scared of getting hit for some reason.
He's hella awkward when u throw punches at him.
If he stops being scared of punches he's gonna be a hell of a boxer.
Miguel cotto is the truth, i dont know the other guy u named though.
Nice job on the Malinaggi comment. I completely agree with that one. I don't agree with the Margarito comment though. I was cheering for Bundrage in the contender because I actually saw his lone loss before the contender when he fought Sechew Powell on Shobox. That was one the shortest but wildest fights that I'd ever seen. I'm not sure about him though. If he gets in the ring with a ref that knows what he's doing, he'll be taken out of his game plan.
Dat Nguyen and Rey "Boom2x" Bautista are the next typhoons that will cross the pacific.
This two has great potentials to follow the steps of Manny Pacquiao.
Goodluck to both of them!
Paulie is a great promising light welterweight..
Showed a good chin and good resolve against miguel cotto..Put on a jabfest clinic against edner cherry..
He will shine bright when he takes on Ndou for his Ibf light welterweight title..
Should he win that..I think he will.. Thats when the big fights will come
Miguel cotto is great, His toughest test to come will be judah in june..
If he gets past judah..I tip him to have some great and BIG exciting fights.
I think he's more then an up and comer as of now though ..Hes a big name for sure..
Personally..Even though you didnt mention him..
I got my eye on a decent featherweight called Jorge Linares.. Great fighter fighting out of Japan i think..
I believe he's venezuelan!..
But a great talent and if he starts fighting in america soon he'll be big..
Im not really a fan of many fighters in the featherweight division but im tipping this cat to become world champ!
Alright...this is my type of topic 8) Kick things off with one of my favorite prospects in all of boxing. A guy by the name of Aaron Williams.
Aaron Williams - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=297748
Really fast. Works well with both hands. Punches in high volume. Has good defense, he slips a punch like no heavyweight I've seen. And he can slip moving forward too, which is a huge asset. Switches between a low and high guard a lot.
He's got decent pop, I've seen him hurt people with 1 punch but never KO someone. He throws real straight and doesn't throw the same combo twice. Always varying it up Works good from the outside in and from the ground up, he's sound. He had over 200 amateur fights and it shows. He just knows what to do in their. He knows what range to fight in, he never smothers anybody and he goes to the body a lot. REALLY someone to look out for.
Not much 1 punch KO power but he does score them because he relentless, places his punches well and is really just overwhelming. Once he fills out his frame a bit, he might have some more but right now not so much.
Like Chazz Witherspoon, he's another guy who has an exceedingly high workrate for a heavy guy. But I think at 11 fights, he is better around the edges then Witherspoon.
Absolute manchild and I really really believe he has the potential to be something special. Watching him fight is like watching a welterweight, Paul Williams or somebody in terms of his offense fight, 6'2 I believe with a giant reach, and he knows how to slip a punch. Anybody can be unrelenting but he reacts to punches very well. I don't know what his plans are for his future and what division, he fought on the 18th as a cruiserweight, but he is going to be special and as a heavyweight imo.
He has been signed to Star promotions and says he plans to continue at 200 lbs for a bit and win a title before moving to heavyweight by the time he's 24. I seldom put labels but he could be America's heavyweight 8)
Alexander Povetkin - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=318081
Russian gold medalist, he's being brought up really fast unlike most eastern European heavyweights, kind of small short and stocky but he is a solid fundamental boxer who works well with both hands. He's pretty upright, he's all offense all the time, constantly moves forward and throws picture perfect punches and has tremendous power. Shouldn't be to long before we start hearing of him. I think a fight between him and Chagaev tomorrow would be an absolute war.
Chazz Witherspoon - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=284612
Witherspoon is a start. 100 punches a round, he has good instincts and he is built like a tight end. Not the prettiest fighter ;D But he is really going to be something. I mean, when he develops his all around skills a bit, how are heavyweights going to deal with that level of activity? He will make a big splash imo. But a track and basketball star in school, very athletic. He's still fairly green and his punches don't pack much because he doesn't really sit down on them, but he is a guy with a lot of potential. Big enough to hang in with a guy like Klitschko and possesses awesome athleticism. A jab has given him problems before but he is someone you definitely want to look out for.
Eddie Chambers - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=34277
Chambers definitely belongs up here. He is so relaxed in the pocket, makes his punches worth his money and he's slick. He has great poise, punches in combinations and is very fast. You just wonder how his body will hold up at heavyweight. If you took anything out of the Rossey fight, it was that even though he carried some weight around his stomach, he got better as the fight went along against the physically imposing Rossey in the guy's backyard. Still have yet to see the Guinn bout He has all the skills and has a lot of polish, but he really isn't a natural heavyweight so you never know.
Adrian Diaconu - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=034651
Saw this guy for the first time just the other night against Rico Hoye and he quickly became a guy to look out for. All the talk was that he was wild and everything, but he opened up with a very straight and very fast right hand that dropped a good fighter in Rico Hoye. He then went out and finished the job, set up his punches well and threw in combinations. It was a tremendous showing. Short stocky guy, obviously built for power and he delivered big time.
Andre Ward - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=281958
One of my favorite boxers in all of boxing, he'll do big things. He looked shaky his first 5 or 6 fights but he is looking great right now. He injured his thumb but in that time he has improved a ton. He doesn't fall in with that right foot anymore. I've seen every fight in his boxing career so far and I've no doubt he will be a champ one day. Honestly, he's got a dynamite jab, he's fast as hell, got a great defense and works in combinations. His main fault right now is that he gets to cocky and tries to become Roy Jones Jr. But most of that is for the cameras I think, he said it's just something that he does regardless of cameras or not but there is a reason he has been fighting off TV recently. In his last fight he finally showed a real meanstreak, Julio Jean intentionally headbutted him drawing blood under the eye. Ward said something to him, threw some soft jabs, waited for Jean to punch off the ropes and then hit him with a killer right hand. Jean got hurt and Ward threw like 10 right hands in a row before finally taking him out. Keep in mind that Duddy didn't take Jean out
Peter Quillin - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=316441
Quillin has faster hands then just about everybody. I'm not kidding about that he is LIGHTNING. And he has good balance for someone so fast, not to mention he's accurate which is why he has so much power. A real explosive guy. He falls into spells of inactivity sometimes but he is dynamite and has a ton of natural talent.
Tyrone Brunson - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=306912
Philly guy, 16 fights, 16 KO's all in the first round. Normally you'd be skeptical, but he's not wild, he's just a stalking fighter who possesses legitimate power. Most of those KO's were all off 1 punch. Don't know to much about him as his record is padded but his power is crazy. Real 1 punch power. He spars with cruiserweight prospect Muhammad Azzoui (I probably didn't spell that right)
Antonio Johnson - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=316441
Johnson is trained by Virgil Hunter, same guy who trains Andre Ward and trains in the same gym as him, in Oakland. Real accurate guy, was poised against a come ahead fighter in his last bout. Has that caged defense and works real well with it. He's always been one of my sleeper prospects, real accurate guy with good timing and he looked like a guy you would want to see more of. A sharp shooter 8)
Francisco Santana - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=337716
I had to get another Bay Area guy in here, so why not start with Santana. First off, Santana is one of the more complete characters you can ever meet. If you ever ran into him on the street, never in a million years would you think he is a boxer. He is your typical born and bred Bay Area metrosexual. He's Wayne McCullough's pet project, and he is really developing nicely. He's a welterweight with real smooth boxing ability, very light on his feet, good reflexes and since he's got with McCullough he has really began to punch in combinations. He won the Jr. Olympics and the U.S. was really hoping he would wait until after 2008 to turn pro because he would have been a favorite in the Olympic trials and he's a face America can get used to. Only 20 years old, he's just a fluid boxer. Real raw at this point but has the base to become a real good boxer. And with his personality and looks, a star.
Victor Ortiz - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=257314
Probably the most crowd pleasing prospect there is. He is full throttle. A southpaw with good speed, decent power and he picks his punches incredibly well. He always has a tremendous connect percentage because he knows what punches to throw and when to throw them. He mostly moves forward and he picks off shots pretty well coming in. He's a bit undersized, but he makes up for it in determination, he has a tremendous workrate and doesn't move backwards. His lone loss is a DQ loss in which he KO'd his opponent boxing out of a clinch. The referee ruled the punch illegal because it took place in the clinch. In his last fight he was engaged in a VERY good matchup with Martin Cordova who happens to be his best friend before a Cordova elbow opened up a cut on Ortiz in the 1st round opening a cut. Ortiz is only 20 years old, but offensively he is beyond his years.
Michael Katsidis - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=079141
I wasn't sure to rate him as a prospect or not but I guess I can since Guzman pulled out. I hate comparing boxers especially when it's a prospect to a Hall of Fame caliber guy but Katsidis reminds me a lot of Kostya Tszyu. Always squared up, always moving forward and has just about punch in the book. Defensively a lot of the same things, holds his hands far apart and of course when you're squared up so much you don't have a lot of space to avoid punches. Best weapons are his hooks, again, a relentless fighter who will make for a lot of exciting fights. He might have already scored a fight of the year award for his slugfest with Graham Earl.
Alex "Bazooka" Banal - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=318900
I still have yet to hear how he did on the Mayweather - De La Hoya undercard (Wacko >:mad) but he is an absolute firecracker. He carries most of his power in his straight shots, and he still lunges a lot and crosses his own feet up but he has real speed and power. He looks like a young Manny Pacquiao looked and has a very similar style.
Juan Manuel Lopez - http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=291928
None of the other 15 or so boxers on this list of mine will make more of an immediate impact then Juan Manuel Lopez. He may not be the next great fighter from Puerto Rico but he sure as hell is a contender. He's a southpaw with a very sharp and powerful straight left hand and like all the great Puerto Ricans, a ripping body attack. He beat up on his biggest test thus far when he destroyed Vargas on Shobox. Absolutely outclassed him and hurt Vargas just about every round with the right hook, straight left combination and could have stopped it a few times but took his foot off the gas pedal to get rounds in. I think Lopez gets a title shot and wins sometime soon, maybe before the year is over.
I know I missed some, but those are my personal favorites and the most intriguing imo.
Suprised no one mentioned Andre Berto ;)
Don't have all that much to say about Berto, he looks good but some are saying he's ready for the top guys and imo, he would be wrecked if he stepped up that fast. If he keeps it slow, then I like him to be somebody.Quote:

That's what I meant, all I'd heard was he was wild but his shots were short and chopping. To be honest, he did resemble Tyson with the low center of gravity, the hands in front of the face and the good head movement. That was an exciting fight.Quote:
