I see guys like Tito Ortiz and 90 % of the others who are just the biggest asses on the face of the earth. What parent would want there child growing up admiring these lackeys.
Also I hear these know it all clowns saying MMA is way more dangerous than pro boxing. Not by a long shot. In a MMA fight when you get knocked down by a punch and stunned a ref jumps right on top of you and stops the fight. Boxing you can get knocked down multipule times and be allowed to a count to recover. That damage to the brain is already done. That and you can be saved by the bell and the no three knock down rule. Alot of these MMA fighters cant take a good shot. A simple 1,1,2 combo would put on to sleep. If they should set this fight up I hope some one like James Tony or someone els who can really swat jumps all over it. Hell put him in there with Tyson. Tyson needs all the money he can get.
So your stating that you do not follow MMA but you feel like you can make broad generalizations about MMA fighters character's? Boxers and MMA fighters physically beat on one another. Of coures some of them are arrogant and full of bravado. Give me a break. Are Tyson/Judah/Mayweather/Tapia/Mayorga fine up standing role models? Making a broad generalization about all MMA fighter's character's is close minded and ignorant. I've never heard anyone suggest that MMA is a more dangerous sport than boxing. It is well documented that boxing has much more deaths and serious injuries. MMA fights are stopped by the ref when a fighter submits or is no longer able to intelligantly defend his self, not just when he falls to the ground from being hit. I'm pretty sure boxing has the same rule as far as a fighter not intelligently defending himself. Once again you openly state that you don't watch MMA but apparently you seen enough to state that all MMA fighters have weak chins. What a crock of shit. Being a boxer doesn't automatically give you a great chin. In fact I'm not aware of any way for a fighter to improve his chin. Entertainment is subjective, so if you just don't enjoy watching MMA then to each his own, but if your are ignorant of the sport and just want to bag on it with out being educated on it then you just sound like ignorant ass.
Re: MAYWEATHER CONTINUES TO RAMBLE ABOUT MMA AND CHUCK LIDELL
First off Van Childs I have been watching MMA since the glory days. There is a big difference between the old school MMA days and now. I started boxing silver gloves when I was 9 years old till I was 15 (naturally ...cause that is the cut off) . Then into Cleveland gold gloves from 16-17. You can get used to taking shots to the head. I also wrestled in high school. Senior year I was in the Regional 171 but I never got passed that. I wanted to try out MMA and till I realized how disrespectful these guys are. How cocky and arrogant these guys are. They respect not too much. Out of all the current pro boxers what percent of those guys act like a typical UFC or Pride fighter. My point proven look at the contender and look at the ultimate fighter on Spike TV. I have a 6 year old son who is stating boxing this year. I'm sure he will grow up to be a respectful man. And not a trash talking idiot with tattoos and piercing.
Re: MAYWEATHER CONTINUES TO RAMBLE ABOUT MMA AND CHUCK LIDELL
Another thing. Boxing has alot more greater role models than MMA.

You've been following MMA since the glory days yet you "shy away from it" and "its not a decent mans sport"? Which is it man? Either you watch it or you don't. I've never met an MMA fighter who didn't spar regularly and didn't have a boxing coach. So suggesting that boxers have better chins b/c they train is a little ignorant. I'd put Mark Hunt's chin up against just about anybody. I think its a little shortsighted to make a broad generalization about a whole fighting disciplines character based on a reality show on a TV channel marketed towards 18-24 yr old men. MMA is full of stand up guys. Chuck, Franklin, CroCop, Silva, Hughes and the list goes on. Like I said before any sport that pits two males against each other in a combat sport is going to be full of testosterone driven, pridefull alpha males. Boxing has just as many less desirables as MMA. Its absurd to suggest a broad stereotype for one sport. I have several tattoos and I train in MMA. I also am married with two children and serve as a NCO in the United States Infantry. So maybe you should rethink your closeminded opinion about tattoos, piercings and MMA fighters.
Re: MAYWEATHER CONTINUES TO RAMBLE ABOUT MMA AND CHUCK LIDELL
Thats the problem mma guys are starting to act like boxers.... everone falls due to pride pride goeth before an ass kicking..
Re: MAYWEATHER CONTINUES TO RAMBLE ABOUT MMA AND CHUCK LIDELL
Its funny. My wife ex-boyfriend who was stalking here dose MMA. He is a complete jerk. All of his friends that do it with him a complete jerks. They are all plastered in tattoos. He is a pro fighter with three fights under his belt. I think he is 1-2. Anyway about a year ago me and my wife went out to a restaurant bar and guess who was there. Now this guy is alot taller than me. 6'2" 200lbs. I'm 5'11 225. We are leaving the restaurant and guess who calls my wife a bad name. Yep mister MMA. He assaulted me and lost his fight privileges from the athletic commission even though I was the aggressor. So I have been in one fist fight with a MMA guy. Personally the guy trained in boxing for 1 year and he can not throw a very good punch. The only MMA guy I'm impressed with there boxing skills is Stephen Bonnar. I love boxing and I can watch MMA when boxing is not on. So that was the bad taste that someone left in my mouth about the sport. And Van good job supporting our country. I have a cousin who works as a military contractor for BLACKWATER. One of my Buddy's little brother private Jacob Spann never made it home. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

pReace! :coolclick: +642
yea it is part of growing up, we all got to start acting like professionals as we age and mature.
it also helps if you have good people around you, unfortunetly for zab every1 thats around him seems to be just like him. That thug image is played out. You got to actually hide that side of you now a days to be accepted. well if you have people with the right mind set around you. Theres a right and wrong time to be tough, as for zab the time he needs to be tough is at the ring.

thats good you put a whooping on that guy! always got to stick up for the ladies.
but yea most mma fighters are getting bad reps, because of assholes like that. they seem to get all tough thinking they can mess with anyone, its not like they are all great fighters. that guy is 1-2? haha it must suck to get beat up more often then winning. actually since you whoop him too his has atleast 3 beatings.

CC for you P4P was thinking the same thing. Even the vibe of this post does not belong on boxing talk.

Does anyone else find it very ironic that people come onto MMA forums and threads to only say how much the sport sucks
