What is this NAZI GERMANY??? DAMMIT...that's how I saw the fight!!!! ;D ;D
...wanna take it outside? :box3: :box3: ;D
No its supposed to be scoring the fight properly and that first round was clearly Mayweathers if you would of scored that round to Mayweather like you should have on your scorecard Mayweather would of had a draw on your scorecard so its important in this debate im just telling you didn't watch that first round correctly otherwise you would of had it for Mayweather it was his for certain.Quote:

Mayweather | 10| 9 | 9 | 9 | 10 | 10 | 9 | 9 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 115

De La Hoya | 9 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 9 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 114
Near identical with bcollins
I see no argument for rounds 1-5 and 10-12, less so for rounds 6-8 which are much more open to interpretation and could easily swing it one way or another.
Ok I finally got my copy of ODL/PBF to rewatch. I scored it exactly the same as I did the night of the fight: 116-112 PBF. It's easy to say "well I thought PBF won" or "I thought it was a draw", but lets see how we all scored it round by round.
Round Winner
1 Floyd
2 De La Hoya
3 Floyd
4 Floyd
5 Floyd
6 De La Hoya
7 De La Hoya (two solid rounds in a row for Oscar IMO)
8 Floyd
9 Floyd
10 Floyd
11 Floyd
12 De La Hoya
The 12th was close but I gave it to Oscar because he flurried effectively IMO, and also got the better of the final exchange.
I saw a deja vu of the first Sam Peter/James Toney fight where the judges were obviously impressed with hard punches that WERE NOT landing. I'm sorry, if you get a guy on the ropes and throw 10 punches with only ONE landing clean, and the rest of the round the other guy is circling and pot shotting you with jabs, left hooks and right hands, you aint getting the round on my scorecard.
Great performance by Floyd.
already a thread up mate.

CC for your opinion, though. It takes all sides of a story to get at the truth.
Wow! I scored the fight for De La Hoya but totally understand a Floyd win, as the fight was close, but Jones - Tarver I?! I remember that fight well, Tarver (much like De La Hoya) forcing the fight, not being terribly effective, but unlike Mayweather, Jones did NOTHING in response. He just sat back and waited to counter attack but forgot to actually throw any punches. I scored only one round for Jones in that fight, simply because I couldn't handle the idea of Jones being beaten so comprehensively. That decision was TERRIBLE. You cannot compare a robbery like that with a close fight like this!Quote:

116 - 112, Floyd Mayweather
Throwing 10 punches flurries and landing only one shot, then getting pot shotted with jabs and hooks for the rest of the round DOESNT win you a round on my scorecard.
Mine was close but I still think Floyd won.

5_Floyd Pretty much back and forth at this point IMHO

7_Oscar My friends who were rooting for PBF were dead silent at this point. But it soon turned around.

Floyd 7 to 5 Some rounds were very close though and I was not supprised that the decision was so close.
I also thaught that the punch stats were somewhat misleading. I don't know how it works but I saw DLH blocking a LOT of shots. I also saw him hit Floyd more than the 23% they are saying. Still think PBF won though.
I would like to see it again.
