Who should PBF fight next? Fighters that you think can beat PBF....

You're right about one thing - no way it could happen!!!

Only people between 140 & 154 that I give any chance to beat PBF are Cotto at 147, Winky (if he could make 154) and possibly Mosely at 147, but I don't think he has enough left.

Well here's my list of CURRENT fighters able to beat Floyd....

Shane Mosley
Winky Wright
Miguel Cotto

I think Paul Williams needs some more experience and he needs to fight at 154

it couldnt happen now but floyd started at that weight and i do believe it was talked about before the de la hoya fight was signed

after pac i would possibly say cotto but he hasnt thought no one of that class yet

PBF is far too big mate, just not viable. Pac started at 105 Pounds!!! Even as a kid PBF was 135. Pac is only 5 ft 6!! - Just could not happen

I think.. If floyd comes back..And wants some of that middleweight glory..

I think Bernard Hopkins would be the best..and the most satisfying candidate to beat him..

I also cant see bernard taking the same shit as oscar during the build up to the fight..
And i would not be suprised if Bernard could still make middleweight..

floyd started at 130 so i doubt he was 135 as a kid

also pac is 5ft 6 and floyds 5ft 8 so 2 inch difference there was 2.5 inch differnece between floyd and DLH didnt really matter though did it

Yeaa..Frankly..Although i love pac.. He had enough trouble with J.m.Marquez once juan manuel had figured him out and started to counter him..

I see pac loosing quite convincingly... But would still love to see it..I think pac's leaping strait punches could cause problems for Floyd though.. I think the strait right is the key to hurting floyd..
Its probably the only punch to be landed on him frequently..

I was thinking about this the other day too. Pac-Man is too defensively challenged for Floyd. He makes way too many mistakes but he gets away with them because other fighters aren't good enough to exploit them. Floyd would have exploited them @ 135. But I do agree than Pac would give Floyd some trouble because Floyd has had trouble with quick southpaws his whole career. BTW, this fight technically could happen at 140, but Pac would have no chance. If Pac beats JMM, he needs to move up right away.

I think Shane has the power to hurt Floyd. I think he can be hurt if you catch him, he just can't be caught cleanly. sMosley has the speed, sophisticated offensive arsenal, and conditioning to make it interesting. He has the chin withstand the shots that he's going to take. Of course, he'd probably still lose. Think about it this way - Let's call the Oscar fight 8-3-1. To me, that's about as far as you can put the fight in Floyds favor. Is Shane an overall better fighter than Oscar? No question in my mind. Does Shane matchup better with Floyd than Oscar did? With his better speed, yes I think.

So, win or lose, I think Shane would be a tougher and more dangerous opponent for Floyd. I thought that before the fight and I think it now. Can Shane win two more rounds than Oscar did? One more round? If he does, the fight becomes very, very close.

I always thought Oscar needed a KO to win. With Shane, I think he might be able to outpoint him. Shanes combinations will be faster and more accurate than Oscar's were, and Floyd would need to engage more and pot shot less or risk having the judges give it Shane based on aggressiveness and combination punching. If Shane forces Floyd to through combos, throw more than 2 punches at time, he'll have some openings and he might be quick enough to take advantage. I could see Shane winning a contraversal SD.

Floyd never ducked Shane in his life. Floyd has been calling out Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya since 2004. Floyd wanted to fight Shane in November way before he even thought about fighting Baldomir and actually made him an offer but Shane "wanted to take a vacation." And unlike you, I have actual proof.

Nah man i'm serious...listen in every post fight interview floyd had prior to beating baldomir he's never mentioned fighting shane...it wasn't until shane ko'ed vargas and beat collazo that floyd decided to even mention shane even then it was shane that called him out first...and to dismiss him (shane) as desperate is weird..esp considering the the logic by which he chooses who is worthy to fight him...

he chose not to fight margarito and hatton because they didn't meet the "two-named fighters criteria" he fought baldomir after he beat judah and gatti..there's is no logical explanation to pick oscar over shane other than money and the little piece of belt that he won..

as far as his career in history to real boxing enthusiast a victory over shane mosely is a much better accomplishment than one over oscar whom has never beaten a prime A-rated fighter....he has consciously ducked shane mosely because he knows enough about boxing to know that shane is too strong for him couple that with shane's work rate and he beats floyd easily...

This is completely inaccurate.
Floyd's first choice was to fight Shane instead of Baldomir. Shane refused, saying he wouldn't fight again for the rest of the year. So then Floyd made the deal with Baldomir.
Also, you say Floyd chose not to fight Hatton. Could you please specify when Hatton offered to fight Floyd?

Personally, I don't wanna see him fight Mosley. For me, beating Mosley would only prove what he did against De La Hoya. I firmly believe Floyd could go at Middleweight, and for him, I feel to cement his legacy, it would be better for him to go for a modern era champion like Jermain Taylor. People will say Mosley isn't what he was if Floyd beat him.

Your not wrong.. Bernard has probably been to big for most of the fighters he has ever faced..
But its not particularly the size of him that makes me say he would destroy mayweather..

Its the skill of bernard and his style that would take floyd to school...

Bernard is a defensive great.. If bernard couldnt land much on floyd..Floyd would have just as much trouble landing on bernard..
And the way Hopkins utilises his great stamina and lateral movement and leaps in with combo's.. moves back out knows all the sneaky little tricks of the game.. hits you in the arse..the hips.. pushes you around a little.. forces an uppercut on the inside..

I beleive not only that bernard would beat floyd during the fight..
But i would think half way through the fight floyd would be frustrated and loose his confidence..

I mean..This is assuming both guys are at middleweight..Its a plausible fight if they both weight the same..But aside from all the advantage Bhop has over floyd..His size would likely be that one step too far when it comes to disadvantages..
