Besides, a lot of people dont get the scoring of todays boxing. More time than not, a relatively noo to boxing will think 'the other' guy won.

At one section of the fight i thought he was making Floyd look prety ineffective & ordinary. But Dela Hoya faded so it was all lost.

Exactly. Which is why I absolutely hated the Dirrell-Stevens fight that was on the undercard to Malignaggi-N'Dou last Saturday night. This Dirrell dude was running all over the ring, rarely stopping to throw punches. That he won the decision was more of a testament to Stevens' ineptitude than anything Dirrell himself did. Had I been the ref for that fight, I would've told Dirrell's corner that his fighter had better get with it, or I'd be stopping the fight. I loved how Larry Merchant was all over the fight, dumping on Dirrell every chance he had. But hated how Lennox Lewis (the more I see of his commentary, the less I want to continue seeing him) kept defending the bum, calling his tactics "effective movement." Effective my ass.

It's well documented that he avoided Margarito's 8 million dollar check years before he even stepped in the ring with Oscar. That is as EXACT as it gets. Mayweather says he won't fight him until he fights Oscar, which didn't happen until years after the 8 million offer was made. Then Judah loses in a laughable fight to Baldo, and the pound for pound king says that he's the best choice for "the best" ? wtf ? ??? Well, since Baldomir has matched Mayweather in defeating both Judah and Gatti... that's pretty embarrasing right? Pacquiao destroyed, dominated, and finished two hall of famers who were healthy enough to fight back. THATS what it takes to make number 1.

I think this is a bit simplistic...I think part of it is the damage of punches, and ring generalship and aggression ...If A fighter lands a ton of pitter pat punches but fighter B is pushing the pace, controlling the ring and landing less but harder punches then I tend to give the round to B. I score the ODH/PBF fight 5 round to 7 respectively and would have understood a draw as well. If you are going to fight PBF's style then you have to look real good doing it. That being said I think PB fought a smart fight. He knew that ODH couldn't maintain his early pace for 12 rounds. I think it was risky though. Had ODH not stopped using the jab or landed one or two more big punches I think the fight could have easily gone the other way.

Its hard to argue Floyds P4P status after beating Oscar but you do make a good point about Floyd treading ultra carefully to the 'top'.
