I still don't understand why people cry about floyd's style....everyone knows what to expect from him, so if you don't have a way to stop what he's does then why fight..just to get pot shoted and then cry about it after. Is it exciting maybe not, do i like it..kinda but reguardless it works. He's sitting as champ of various weight classes undefeated blah blah blah, so he's doing something right. If hatton thinks he's gonna go in there and fight pbf the same way he has fought others in the past and win then the same thing is gonna happen that always does....floyd will win again, and most will sit around and try to point out what was wrong about how he won which doesn't affect his record in the least.

Out of his league?? That makes me laugh mate big time, you know what the odds are for this fight:
Mayweather 4/7
Hatton 5/4
Not exaclty out of his league odds them are they?? Now i think Floyd might be to clever but Hatton is a beast and we know he will train like a mad little f***** for this and he has the intensity to make this a close fight, if this is out of his league mate you should go re mortgage the house and get your money down, because if what you say is true it will be like buying money.
Mayweather will be the obvious favorite, but I give Hatton every chance of putting up an excellent showing and wouldnt be overtly shocked if he pulls it off.
Ever thought the odds may be close because Hatton has more fans than PBF? Odds are rarely an accurate indication of how a fight will play out. Sharmba Mitchell was favourite over Kostya tszyu, yet when the fight occured Sharmba was obviously out of his league. You wouldnt mortgage your house because there is a 5% chance u may lose it. 5 % Hatton wins, 95% Floyd wins. Still dont mean Hatton is in the same league as FLoyd.

I like Ricky alot, and believe he is one of the good guys of the sport, a great ambassador and down to earth being as approachable as you could ever expect a star to be..
But Floyd is in a whole other league, I get frustrated with the Majority of 20 post jonnies here that support Hatton and trash Floyd. Even the most Zealous Mayweather fan will credit Ricky at the end of the day for his determination and attitude.
People who will call Floyd all Hype, you fukwits know who you are ::** is just plain dumb PERIOD!!!!!!! if he is all hype than he must have all the RESPECTED writers, sanctioning bodies and Ring Magazine Buffaloed then since they have him rated #1 PFP fighter in Boxing.... Believe me it has NOTHING to do with popularity either, Floyd is the real deal and all the detractors will turn coat on Ricky when he loses and tumbles off of being the failed latest and greatest Mayweather Slayer who got beat ;)
When floyd takes on a REAL challenge, that's when I will give him respect. Faggot floyd will only fight when the other guy is not in a position to fight back and this is usually because they have chased him around the ring until they were tired. I would absolutely LOVE to see him use his skill set (that everyone knows he has) to actually fight someone. floyd could easily win the respect of many people if he would fight rather than be the "defensive master" that he is. Cowering in the ring against fighters you know you can beat is not impressive and never will be. Although I don't see Hatton winning, I do think it is a step in the right direction for floyd to lay claim to p4p.
I don't see half of the controversy for consideration of Joe Calzaghe as p4p and hopefully, Ring Magazine will take that under advisement if he can get past Kessler.
Bottom line, pick a challenge, not just a challenger and then fight, not run.
Floyd's not my favorate fighter, but I can't blame him for being a "defensive master". It is what he does best. He's not trying to please anyone, just trying to win.
This being said... I would love to see him in an exchange just to see what would happen.

Just watch his fights from featherweight up to 140. He won all of his 'exchanges'. The guy was actually known for his speed AND power in the lighter divisions. I think against Ricky Hatton he gets his power back and it will become a big advantage over Hatton. Floyd is deceptively powerful. Remember he coul have had De La Hoya out in the 5th round when he buckled his knee's but didn't go after him. Hatton is just gonna get hit with shots that he won't see.

Perhaps he should go back down to 140.

One of the dumbest posts ive ever read from somebody new.
youve probably been watching boxing since all the way back when Mayweather fought Delahoya and now you know it all, right?
Mayweather is a blown up lightweight.
Mayweather just beat Oscar Delahoya at JR. MIDDLEWEIGHT!!!!
Heres something for you to do..................
Watch ANY of Floyd Mayweathers fights outside of his last 3. His last 3 were great, but theyre more for people who appreciate technique and skill. Not so much for the bloodthirsty fight fans.
At 140 and down (even his 1st fight at 147 against Sharmba Mitchell) Floyd was very exciting to watch for even the most novice fan, and his fights usually ended up in a ko. I think Hattons gonna bring that back out of Mayweather in December because Rickys a lot smaller than Baldo or Delahoya (and we all know what was gonna happen to Zab before the riot broke out)
Theres probably a UFC fight or some other garbage on tv right now that can hold you over until youre done downloading those fights.
New to the site ja***ss, not new to boxing or floyd's career.
IF mayweather were as well received for his "technique and skill" as you believe he is, there would not be sooooo many posts wanting to see more from him. (saddoboxing is not the only website in which people post). Have you been really LISTENING to boxing anaylists lately? They are constantly throwing out barbs along the lines of "these are fighters, not businessmen" (paraphrased).
No one can dispute the fact that mayweather is the best businessman in the sport of boxing....ever. I've said it before and I'll say it again, floyd will never be confused for a fighter, only a great boxer. I give ALL respect to those who are willing to take a chance in the ring and take on a challenge rather than the best business decision.
Stop drinking the koolaid and think!

Idont know why I am going to waste my time responding to a 20 post Johnny like you whos ignorance will get him banned by tomorrow, but I can never miss an opportunity to own a jackass like you ;)
Thats just plain assanine.... Tell me one fight beside the Baldomir fight that he let his foot of the gas in a fight he was utterly dominating? He had a career payday set up with Delahoya so he chose to box and put on a clinic. All of a sudden thats a problem >:mad please Newb go formulate your own opinions instead of buying into the same old recycled garbage that is unsubstantiated and not even true to begin with.
Your are cut from the same moronic cloth that says Floyd has no heart, no pride and only fights for the money and dosent care about what the fans want. Now he takes on a guy that was jawing with him and a matchup that has been highly anticipated for years and on the majority of fight fans wish list, and all of a sudden there is a problem.
Defensive fighter? thats funny too.. Defensive masters like Hopkins, Whitaker, Wright, Toney, Pep etc. are either in the hall of fame or on their way.
Where to start, Where to start?
OK, I'll start with the beginning. I guess you equate number of posts with your IQ. Only those with many many posts must be intelligent enough to understand the complexities of this sport, right? WRONG! Sure you have friends here that agree with you, even the most simple minded deserve to have friends. It's obvious that you've been drinking the same koolaid as frozensolid702. floyd is not as great as you wish he was and he isn't in the same league as Hopkins, Whitiker, Wright, Toney or Pep. There are a lot of boxers that I could add to the list but I'm sure your terrific intellect can add them yourself.
The difference between the aformentioned fighters and mayweather is that they were/are willing to take on the biggest challenges (knowing that they might lose) and in most cases, opting to have a rubber match even though they've been beaten.
If you will recall, I said Hatton is a step in the right direction for floyd to be considered legitimate, I never said it was a problem.
Listen carefully as I don't want to have to repeat myself to you or idiots like you again, floyd himself admits to EVERYONE that he chooses the best matchup for him based on business. He doesn't refute this or get angry, he just shakes his head in agreement. To me and many people like me, that makes him a puss. Point blank, end of story

Why is Toney or Hopkins that much better than Mayweather ?? Toney got gifts from journeyman fighters and Hopkins best wins were against fighters moving way above there natural weight Tito Oscar Wright ect.

As one of the writers for the site I did a statistical analysis of the fighters currently in the top 10 p4p list of the site and ring magazine, and when it comes to the number of champions/former champions faced and the number of title fights a fighter has been involved in, Mayweather is head and shoulders above the competition when you factor in the length of career. He's taken on more challenges from more champions than anyone else there by some distance in comparison.

It appears that part of the quote you used is actually someone else and not me. May have been an oversight.
The reason there is so much controversy in this and other posts (not just about mayweather) is that the people want fighters inside of their boxers. Challenges, THAT is what makes this the sport it is. Seeing someone come out victorious when they are down or are not given a chance gives the fans an incredible rush. It's why we watch. (mortar comments answered).
Was it "brilliant" what Klitschko did to Brewster?
Lewis did to Tyson?
Hopkins did to Hakkar?
Wright did to Trinidad?
Holmes did to Frazier?
RJJ did to Pazienza?
No, these aren't brilliant fights, just people who never should have been paired up in the first place.
mayweather has taken on several "named" opponents (many in title fights) (many great fighters) and only occasionally has he not been the favored to win. Even in those instances where he is not favored by Vegas et al. he is still considered the one who has the better chance at winning.
He stands "head and shoulders above the rest" due to the fact he has not (in my and others opinion) gone into the ring with anyone that stands above him to start with. Boxers who are allowed to put their hat in the ring for the p4p title are the ones who take the FIGHTS that could end their reign as champions even if no title is at stake. I could go through a long list of people who stepped up against all odds when they knew that they were going to more than likely lose. THAT's a champion, win or lose.
Not once have I said to myself before a mayweather fight, "oooooh this one he's gonna have to work for. He may even get his ass handed to him". I'd be willing to bet his business sense has kept him away from those fights

Agree totally, but I sometimes love to see a battle in the trenches.
