My opinion:
I see the fight as being all Ricky's. Both are top fighters and I'm not a big fan of either.
Ricky has fought a certain way his whole career. Cut off the ring and get inside while there do as much damage as possible. Force his strength on the opponent and bully them. This will happen to Floyd.
Floyd could take the fight lightly by being to cocky and sure of himself which would make Hatton's job even easier.
Hatton is going to cut off the ring and Floyd hasn't the raw power to punch him away. Speed of punch yes but not enough speed. Floyd is great at not getting hit on the chin but his opponents give him the space or he makes the space- Hatton is not going to let up or get discouraged.
Hatton only loses if he tries to box which is highly unlikely.
I honestly only see one winner in this fight and that's Hatton.

This fight will be a walk over. Mayweather will dominate Hatton. It will either be a shut out points win or a late round stoppage. I can't see Hatton succeeding where Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Jesus Chavez and Oscar De La Hoya failed
With your track record the more one-sided you claim it'll be the more chance there is of Hatton pulling off the upset.

Elusive as Floyd is Hatton will connect with a body shot and Floyd will struggle badly. I think Hatton will KHTFO!! :)

The fact remains, although this fight will in all likelyhood be won by Mayweather, it will be closer than many people are making out. Hatton is the best fighter that Mayweather has been matched with in his career.
Mayweather is correct when he says that Hatton has never been in the ring with anybody as good as him, but in all honesty, Mayweather has never been in the ring with somebody as good as Hatton.

i think oscar delahoya at jr. middleweight is a hell of a lot more dangerous than hatton. easiest way to look at it is...........
Oscar Delahoya at 154 vs. Ricky Hatton at 140 or 147
i like hatton, but delahoya knocks him out late

I dont see Ricky having advantages in the speed, power, boxing skill and defense department. he isint even in the same league. He fought once uncomfortably at 147 and was LUCKY to scrape a win. Floyd has moved up to a fit 152 and fought and didnt fade, didnt get buzzed or rocked.
Floyds meanstreak will come out and he will pummel Ricky, Floyd isint trying to add another belt or weight division to his resume...So this fight and azz whoopin will be all pleasure for Floyd not business

But, and as ya may guess i somewhat disagree with the decision of the fight, especially the bit where ya say from round5 onwards it will be a walk in the park for Floyd :o ::**
Ricks last fight at 147 was poorly planned, and believe me that wont happen again considering he now has 4 months to prepare for it, this against the 4 weeks for Collazo. Ricky will train as if he's facing a LWW and will enter the ring around 149-152, not alot of difference as to what Floyd will enter the ring at. The difference between the two regards to natural size is negligible.
Billy Graham has been studying Floyds style for along time now, as far back as Ricky's fight against Kostya. I believe Billy Graham has the key that will unlock Floyd and hand him his first defeat in the pro ranks. The question remains, and will until the pair meet, can Hatton fulfill his mentors plans ???
If Rick can put on a performance and display like he did against KT then he can definitely win this fight. Ricky's mindset going into the KT fight was that he was prepared to lose the first 5-6 rds, and then to come on strong in the later rounds, which, he accomplished with great aplomb. I can forsee a similar thing happening in this fight. Ricky will apply plenty of pressure in the early rounds and look to sap energy from Floyd thus setting up the later rounds as his back yard. ;)
I appreciate what ya saying about the Castillo fight and for me it's also a poor yardstick. What i will add though is that Oscar gave Floyd fits for the first half of the fight and if he could have kept that up for longer then he would have certainly claimed a UD over Floyd ( i for one think Oscar won that fight by 1rd ). Well you have to be concerned with Ricky fading down the stretch he did against Colazzo and Urango then TKO Castillo and 4 so Hatton is yet to prove if he reversed the stamina course, I will agree he has a reputation for fighting like a wildman for 3mins around for 12, but that hasnt been the case in a while. Floyd NEVER fades or even seemingly looks labored in a fight.
Ricky is tough and can close the distance, but he wont walk thru Floyds shots all night, Floyd is not a concussive puncher he dishes out an accumulative amount of Punishment.. Unfortunatley I see it ending similarly as Gatti were Graham is hugging Ricky on his stool and taking out his mouthpiece while waving off the fight by round 9. Ricky is one hell of a warrior gentleman champion, but that wont be enough to get him past Mayweather... Ricky will walk into shots and leave himself open for counters and like I stated earlier will become gunshy and just absorb an inordinate amount of punishment past the 5th.
People say Floyd cant punch for shiit... Ask Oscar how hard Floyd digs to the body and the head.. Sure has hell rocked that steardy bastarrd 3x at least.

LOL, well mate i've been somewhat occupied with a change of jobs and a house move, so not been posting, although always reading :)
Ok, regards the stamina thing, against Collazo it was a move up in weight too early in his preperation, if Juan Lazcano had not injured his hand then the fight would not have happened at all. Against Urango, he had the flu a week before the fight which lasted up to the day before the fight ( the air con in those Vegas hotels is bad, i can vouch for that personally ). I have a recording on dvd of Rick in a build up show before the fight, a kind of fly on the wall documentary, that showed him in his room doing an interview all bunged up with flu. As for the Castillo fight, well he had learnt his lesson and went out to Vegas earlier and rented a private villa instead of staying in the Hotels on the strip for his build up. Thus resulting in a devastating KO of a boxer that had NEVER tasted the mat in his entire pro career, his only stoppage coming against Corrales, of which he wa still on his feet. :)
I agree that Ricky will walk onto alot of shot's from Floyd, but as he's only been down once in his career, ( flash knockdown against MaGee ), i feel he has the chin to withstand Floyds arsenal, and as you rightly say, he doesnt posses the most powerfull punch. So for me this is a mute point.
It will be interesting to see how Floyd deals with Hattons constant onslaught which will dog him till the last bell. I for one will be in the arena to watch the action unfold and cannot wait for it.
Dont get me wrong, Floyd is THE most gifted boxer of this generation, but as the old adage goes, 'the is always someone out there tougher than you' and for Floyd that is Ricky Hatton ;D

De la hoya owns Hatton at 147 no doubt about it. Oscar may have lost a little bit of his skill but he is still way better that Collazo and we know what happened to Hatton then. De la Hoya would be a big welterweight and Hatton doesn't have good defense. If Oscar landed that left hook it would be good night Vienna.

I say the fans win. This is great for boxing hats off the Mayweather for taking it. He really wants to etch a legacy for himself so he can be mentioned with the Ray Robinson or Harry Greb. Thats if he wins. But back then guys would fight 200 to 300 fights in a career. I think Greb fought 294 time and 44 times in one year. Thats every 8 days!!!
