Ghonzalez must have the worst jaw of any world championship level fighter.
I reckon De Leon just moved to number 1 in the division, he;d smoke Marquez and Vazquez.
Gonzalez worst jaw ever?
Firstly it was a liver shot while he was fully extended, anyone would have crumbled from that, you can't breath after that I don't care who you are.
The other fight where you could make your claim is against Vazquez, where he had already knocked Vazquez down twice and he was gassed, which is why he was starting slower in this fight.
Bilbo you are talking out of your ass..............

bOom boom got so confident. but de leon proved he can deliver when needed eventhough there was no chance Mexico can win over the cup from the Philippines.
I wouldn't say he got so confident. If you watch RB before the bell rang, he looked very nervous. Knowing all of his fellow boxers won their fights, the hope for the sweep was in his hands. I think that was just too much for him to handle. He's still green. Rey, your time will come brother!
Re: HBO: Mexico vs. Philippines RBR!
I HATE people that run for most of the fight! I was hoping that Gonzalez was going to get caught with a good shot and BANG! He did. ;D I love watching people get knocked out of their senses but there's nothing better than a good body shot. I was pulling for Penalosa the whole fight but I did think he was getting whooped the second half of the fight though.
I'm a filipino/american who was raised watching boxing since i was 4 and I'm so happy the Philippines are effectively involved in the sport! With that said, Bautista got ROCKED! I didn't find him that impressive on the De La Hoya/Mayweather undercard and when i saw how De Leon came out of his corner dropping bombs, i immidiately thought, "oh boy! short night!"
Re: HBO: Mexico vs. Philippines RBR!
Gerry went "liver hunting" through out the night. ;D
Re: HBO: Mexico vs. Philippines RBR!

That was a perfect body shot that was very difficult to anticipate. Penalosa, I believe got "lucky" with that punch.
Re: HBO: Mexico vs. Philippines RBR!
yeah he did got lucky, gerry said so himself on the news. but he was looking for that body shot the whole night he and roach planned it way before the first round started.
Re: HBO: Mexico vs. Philippines RBR!
Nonesense, there's no such thing as "lucky punch" in boxing. You suppose to protect yourself at all times. A good boxer knows that if you get hit cleanly in the liver, kidney, and in the chin with a strong punch,... it's over, you're fwocked!
Both Rey Bautista and Jhonny Gonzalez got viciously tagged by left hands. That's like a full blast impact coming from southpaw fighters.

sinuwerte nga raw sya! but ill say it again he was liver hunting the whole night, roach and gerry both new that it was his ticket to win.
