Re: Where does Margrito stand in the welterwieght divison
Thank you for the list frozen and what you think if Cotto beat Shane would that put him above Mayweather in the welterwieght division

If Cotto beats Mosley AND Hatton beats Mayweather, absolutely.
If Cotto beats Mosley and Mayweather beats Hatton, then nothing changes.

IMO he would have to really beat down Tony to come close to erasing that embarassing performance. Just like Duran quitting on 2 legs with SRL; that is something I will always remember Cintron for, no matter what he does in the future. Tony might not be the slickest, fastest guy ever, but he is going to fight you like it's his life on the line, and will take a beating without crying about it.
Totally agree and even then,Margarito has beaten far far far better fighters than Kermit. People tend to forget Margarito holds wins over 6Heads,Diaz,Martinez,Clottey,Kermit and a few other good fighters. That;s far better than the guys Kermit has beaten.

Anyways here it goes again.
IMHO he should be the number 1 contender for all the belts. In a division so jammed packed like this one, being the number 1 contender actually means something.....Imagine that.
LOL,what do you mean bro? How is he going to be number 1 for all the belts?
I know that's not how the ranking system works but regardless he should be the top contender behind all the champs.
But if you want me to make a list well here it goes.
1 Mayweather
2 Cotto
3 Mosley
4 Williams
5 Margarito
6 Cintron
7 Clottey
8 Hatton (Assuming he officially becomes a WW)
9 Collazo
10Quintana ( I here he will fight soon against some guy named Ruben Fuchu and looking for a big fight after that)
Re: Where does Margrito stand in the welterwieght divison
Well i just thought a win over mosley is better then a win over hatton as far as welterwieght goes but i guess that not the case so cotto i guess might not be at the number one spot

A win over Mosley WILL mean more than a win over Hatton. But will it be enough??
Mayweather as a WW has beaten Judah and Baldomir. He also beat Oscar at 154
Cotto as a WW has beaten Quintana, Urkal and Judah.
Nither of these guys as a very impressive record as a 147lbr. Why are they top 2 then? Because records and who-beat-who arguments don't tell the hole story.
Bottom line... these are the two guys to beat IMO.
Re: Where does Margrito stand in the welterwieght divison
yea i hope they get to fight each other at some point but we will have to wait and see because there both in very big fights that are coming up and i can not wait to see them and hope i dont waste my money buying them and yea i am talking about the Mayweather fight because at welter he has not had a exciting fight yet and i hope this coming fight will be good fight and hope hatton wins but i am not holding my breath and i hope cotto wins because we need some new blood i love shane but he will be 37 soon and can get old in a fight at any time now and i dont want to see that at all
