Seriously, Pavlik beat him, straight up, fair and square. He out punched, out lasted, and straight up out boxed JT. Stop complaining, the kid is legit. He's here to stay, and can only go up from here.

Pavlik wasn't putting enough pressure on Taylor to burn him out. Taylor burnt himself out by being so tense, and throwing way too many wild punches that didn't come close to landing. Pavlik was not breaking Jermain down with the jab. Taylor was landing the far harder jabs and he was the one who made Pavlik's nose bleed not vice virsa. Pavlik caught him two good 1-2 combinations which have been landed on Taylor countless times when he backs up, but by nobody with Pavlik's power.Quote:

Taeth seem to me like that jab was landing hard with Jermain head was bobbing back i think Pavlik was out boxing him to tell you the truth the way you are talking it is like you were watching a different fight then i was what is up with all this people it was close and Pavlik was breaking him down and once he got him huert he finished it i do not know what else to say because it seems like you saw a different fight then i did
I don't know about anyone beating themselves but Taylor lost because he f*****up and ignored his game plan. He wasted energy and his stamina went south but when a man knocks you out, it takes almost a supernatural effort to win in the rematch. I wish him luck but history has a nasty way of repeating itself. I just hope he doesn't get hurt because although his pride was shattered, it's a sport and he was good enough to be champ and now he has to be better than he ever was to be champ again. The old adage just in case anyone forgot is that when a man becomes champion he usually improves twofolds. Kelly that night became the better man, that night because there's another saying,"Next!"
The point is, unless the fight is a complete shut-out people see things unfold slightly different. ;)Quote:

People can't really argue that Jermaine beat himself or that if he hadn't tired out etc....
I was shouting for taylor have no mistake. I was pretty happy with the first two rounds, but after the bell sounded for the third it was all downhill. Taylor lost 3 4 5 6, and 1 was arguable for either, i only barely gave it to Jermaine.
Pavlik applied himself and forced his tactics upon Taylor, he outjabbed Taylor. The HBO team had to admit that Taylors much famed jab was second best on the night. He was outgunned.
All in all Taylor was dominated.
It doesn't feel good saying that
:appl: to both fighters to have a good fight
i official dethrone jermain taylor of calling him half-azz
a great fight but i dont think he beat his self
he box well he stun pavlik seems like he start good but finish not strong
pavlik just turn up the heat and taylor didint expect it
i'll give it to him after his post fight interview also
CC to you also Landon, thanks. And to Taeth, I think you're pretty on target with JT being really tense, he looked tense before the fight and the whole fight, and that does burn energy. Kelly's strong jab definately didn't help matters though, plus the constant come forward style. Only JT knows for sure, but Kelly is strong and those jabs though not seeming to do alot of physical, noticeable damage, had to be taking their toll. JT can take a shot, and took many from Kelly, and was just getting outworked at the end. It will be hard for JT to get back in the ring with Kelly cause' I personally think JT will be just as tense, but again only JT knows. I hope JT comes back strong as I have always liked him; time will tell. My only real point was that all fighters realize after the fight what went wrong, and then say I could have done this or that, but it doesn't matter, cause' he lost. I'm sure Kelly will get beat on and his fans will do the same thing. I never try to make excuses for a fighter if they lose; they lost, move on and learn from it. JT will be back and I for one look forward to it. CC to you also Taeth
I sort off agree.Quote:

I thought Manny Steward would of taught him to close the gap much much MUCH more often (in that defensive way that W. Klitschko & Lewis does/ did).
With out these kinda of skills he always gonnna be left looking scared and inexperienced.
Finally though, im gald the truth is out about Taylor. He's not P4P material and probably never will be. With that out the way i can actually start to like Taylor for what he is ;)
