I wanna know where all these Sergio Mora fans are, who were tellin me how ignorant I was and how much of a hater I was for not liking Mora a few months ago. Now that the punk has barely got a draw against a no-name, backed outta a fight with Taylor, and run his mouth about a man who could knock his punk ass out within 4 rounds, they are no where to be found. ???
Damn it would be funny if Sergio actually got on this forum and saw this thread :D Bet he'd feel pretty bad after reading all this. I wonder if any professional fighters get on Saddo's ????
I like Mora, I find his fights entertaining, but he's a prospect and nothing more at this point. I agree with those who say he's done nothing to deserve a title shot because he hasn't. He's got an interview on Boxingtalk right now where he talks about fighting Jermaine Taylor if the rematch with Pavlik doesn't occur, which is a very stupid decision on his part if he goes through with it.
In a lot of ways Mora is an unknown entity at this point - he's yet to fight anyone with much skill, so nobody can really know how he measures up to top-level competition (which he's nowhere near ready for). His inactivity and overconfidence I think will be his eventual downfall, if he started fighting 3 - 4 times a year against a rising level of competition we'd get to see where he actually stands in terms of skill and potential. He apparently looked like shit against Ayala, who was once a decent prospect, but I think much of that was due to ring rust/inactivity. I didn't see the fight, but apparently he got better as the fight wore on and he shook off some of the rust, but like I said, he's nothing but a prospect at this point.
I think in terms of his progress he's probably a little below someone like Duddy at this point - someone with a lot of questions surrounding his abilities, but he's nowhere near as bad as some make him out to be.
He does think he's a lot better than he actually is though and I can understand how his personality rubs some people the wrong way.
Flame away.
Yeah I've thought about that before too. I seriously doubt any top fighters come on here and take the time to read fans' criticizing posts about them. They are professionals and do not care nearly as much about the glory, ego, bragging rights and BS that we constantly discuss on here.Quote:

I would love to see Pavlik destroy Mora, I'd pay PPV prices to see it.
.....hey anyone who can hang in and get a draw with ayala will see pavlik as cake !!! Geeezzsuuuus mora has my eyes watering with this one don't worry about pavlik son, you won't even beat forrest. I serioulsy think mora was just kidding. Pavlik could beat mora and probably most of the people on mora's record one the same night within the original 12 rounds.

Yeah right Sergio.
