I still prefer what I've seen of Cotto to what I've seen of Mosley, but as always I just want to be entertained with some quality boxing.
I don't think this fight will lack entertainment value - that's one prediction I feel confident about.

What's up guys? I'm picking and rooting for Mosley. I see a lot of you guys like Cotto, even some of you that are picking Mosley. Am I the only one that doesn't like Cotto? It's not that I necessarily dislike him, and I do think he is a good, strong, solid fighter, but nothing about him stands out for me. He just seems like an ordinary banger, not to mention that he has the personality of a box of rocks!

Welcome to the forum...have the Obligatory Wacko Welcome Wagon :coolclick:
That being said...Cotto is far from an ordinary banger. Watch his early career fights...he was a hell of a boxer up until 20 fights or so...then he changed his style...but he's proven that he can still box with the best of them.
The thing is...Mosley's a bit better than the best of them...even though I want Cotto to win.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Cotto vs Mosley
I think some people are really discounting Mosley's power. Sure, he ain't the spectacular knockout artist of his lightweight days...but this man is a beast. 154 was obviously not the best weight for him...but at 147, he can bang with the best of them. The man is just gifted with tremendous athleticism. So while i hear all this talk of Cotto's power and pressure breaking down Shane...i think it will be the other way around. Cotto is hittable...PERIOD. Zab was able to land the same punch over and over again in their fight. What do you think a fighter like Shane...who is fast, strong AND has a killer instinct to go along his great chin...will do against Cotto? Cotto's youth and great heart will make it a great fight...but his style fits Shane's advantages perfectly.

I think just the opposite, people really overrate Mosley's power. He was a very good puncher at 135, but he's never been a devestating puncher at 147 or above. Knocking out the rotting corpse of Fernando Vargas isn't that impressive.

I never said he was a devastating puncher at 147...but he certainly can do serious damage. Cotto has been stunned and put on the floor by less strong and skilled fighters than Shane. You think guys like Zab and Torres can land and hurt Cotto but Shane wont?

I never said Shane won't hurt Cotto. I bet Cotto will be stunned/wobbled during the fight.
I disagreed with your initial statement that people are "discounting Mosley's power." Mosley's power hasn't really been evident for 5 or 6 years now, with the exception of KO'ing a shot Fernando Vargas.

I agree with you that Shane doesn't have that incredible power of his younger days at lower weight classes. That being said...i think he will show great strength against Cotto. Shane NEVER had any business going up to 154. That, along with his weight training regimen, took away from his speed and natural power. But he seems comfortable now at 147. All i'm saying is that he will have plenty of power to hurt Cotto. Will he knock him out with one punch...probably not. But combine his speed with the fact that Cotto has a porous defense and suspect chin...and i think Shane can definitely KO him.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Cotto vs Mosley
I picked Shane by KO, then read Wacko's post, and I don't really have much to add to it. That's been my thinking all along. Shane is too complete a fight, he's bigger than Judah, almost as fast, stronger, mentally tougher, and a much more complete fighter. In fact, I wouldn' be surprised to see Shane turn southpaw from time to time rip Cotto with those left uppercuts that Judah was landing effectively.
Even if Cotto overcomes all this (which he may, I like and respect Cotto a ton), gets to Shane's ribs, and pulls this out, it's STILL going to be the worse night of Cotto's career. To break down Shane, he will absorb a superhuman amount of punishment. He's too hitable and Shane knows how to lay a hurt on somebody.

:coolclick: I truely believe that Shane is also far to tall a task for Cotto at this time.

Exactly. I'd love to see Cotto straif Mosley from his hips to his shoulders & then take to the noggin...but I think that Shane's going to be able to take what Cotto brings.
Hope I'm wrong.

**Fact #2: While Wacko may idolize Shane for his boxing abilities & fitness...CuteMick has a bun baking in his...mangina due to the fact that he's pulled a "Betty Crocker" & has a belly fulla baby batter due to the fact that he thinks Sugar is so thweet.
CuteMick get's the magoo for shrimpin the MAN-GOO!
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Cotto vs Mosley
I think Mosley will stop Cotto around the 9th-11th on a Bust up TKO.
Cotto can be left in a "lurch" and kept off balance,Ecspecially early with someone that can slide on angels.
Hand speed...Forget power (it traslate's) will be obvious and Cotto ,IMO will be forced to React more and more.Cotto has superb recoup instincts and can dig the body HARD.
Shane better "temper" and gauge his Inside Combos smart.Cotto is the biggest Physical threat he has faced in years!
Not to over do it but I love this Fight.Great war coming ;D
