Re: The best fighters alltime in every weight class
Heavyweight - Muhammad Ali
Cruiserweight - Evander Holyfield
Light-Heavyweight -Michael Spinks
Super-Middleweight - Joe Calzaghe
Middleweight - Marvin Hagler
Light-Middleweight - Mike McCallum
Welterweight - Sugar Ray Robinson
Light-Welterweight - Aaron Pryor
Lightweight - Pernell Whitaker
Super-Featherweight - Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Featherweight - Willie Pep
Super-Bantamweight - Wilfredo Gomez
Bantamweight - Ruben Olivares
Super-Flyweight - Khaosai Galaxy
Flyweight - Jimmy Wilde
Light-Flyweight - Michael Carbajal
Minimumweight - Ricardo Lopez
I've only picked guys that I've seen a fair bit of footage of, hence why Armstrong & Benny Leonard miss out at 135, & with the new divisions, some of these guys wouldn't make it into my all-time Top 75 probably, whilst other divisions have so many choices that if I did it again I might change things.

That's a pretty good list. I'm not so sure about McCallum though. Depends what you mean by best I suppose. Personally I think a guy like Hearns or Leonard would have beaten McCallum at JMW, but they didn't stick around long enough in that division. Same sort of thing with Aaron Pryor. I can think of a few guys that's I'd favor over Pryor at that weight, but again they didn't stick around long enough.
That's why I think these kind of "Best at each weight" lists don't mean much, too many better fighters fall through the cracks because they moved through the divisions too quickly.

Pryor I think was unbeatable at that weight at the time, although a fight between him & Duran would've been class & the aren't many I can see beating him there, maybe slick boxers. But like you say, some guys just move through divisions too quickly. I thought about putting Hearns at LMW, but he just wasn't there long enough & largely fought welters moving up. Similarly, Roy Jones is the best fighter to have fought at SMW for me, but he wasn't there long enough & Calzaghe is the only elite fighter to have really made the division his own
Re: The best fighters alltime in every weight class
Well good list dude i only have a few different ones from you rep for list. I just think Larry Holmes could of beaten any heavy including Ali but his resume is not as good so i can see why people think i was wrong. Then there is the Mosley at lw yet again think he could beat anyone at the weight including Duran, Whitcker and Maywather yet again comp not best. Then this i know most wont agree with i though Leonard could beat anyone at welter and his wins over Duran, Benitez and Hearns i rate very high even higher then all the wins that Robinson had just me though.

At the time, sure, go with Pryor, but since we are talking all time then I imagine guys like Mosely, Duran, Mayweather Jr., delaHoya, probably Benitez all are the equal of Pryor at JWW.
And also I agree with Mr140 on Leonard at WW. I don't think he gives up anything to Robinson at welterweight when it comes to boxing ability and toughness.
