just one question for you mate who would you like to see Ricky fight next Lazcano or Witter i dont need an answer its for your own mind ;)
Witter. I'd absolutely love it.
IMO if Witter show's up, he could win.
Listen, my whole basis of argument isn't on the fact that the fight shouldn't happen (it absolutely should, no question)
My point is, there is a reason Witter hasn't made an offer yet and there's a reason why Hatton appears disinterested.
You'll see in 2009....
The fight will be a massive occassion......even bigger than it would be now with the way things are going.
Witter will get Hatton when his popularity is back at it's peak (if all goes according to plan he will beat Lazcano and Paulie...which he should)
Witter will then get his massive payday because he'll most likely still hold the WBC belt after fighting mandatories until next year
Hatton will get his opponent when he is 35 years old which seems to be the pattern he likes to follow.
mate i sead this a few days ago and if the fight was gonna happen why dont they just stick Witter vs Paulie on the undercard of hatton vs payday and then Ricky fights the winner simple to me if the fight was gonna happen also see reply below to hatton retireing.;)
It would seem logical but i believe Hatton figures he can make more money fighting Paulie and Junior, because with Paulie he gets to fight at the Garden.
The Witter fight will most likely be at Wembley.

correct so why not now Witter's profile is high and to be honest i think Hattons is at an all time high.... his last fight in the UK was the the maussa fight and i heard they hade to gave tickets away as the numbers where low.. but this lazcano fight is almost a sellout.
so for me 12 months even if it did happen would be too late and i doubt it will anyways but Ricky is a millionaire now so surlly he should be looking for fights because they are fights but we both agree he is after money now...
although you think its a masterplan i dont ;)
anyhooo night mate and to be honest i hope your right and i'm wrong as it would be a shame if these guys never met not just for the fans i think Ricky would regret it in years to come ;)

Guess you don't know how matchmaking works in Boxing then.
Simple. Mick Hennesey faxes an offer to team Hatton. Team Hattom mull over the offer and decided wether or not to accept it at least negotiate.
They don't actually have to sit round a table, so Hatton's balls have nothing to do with Witter making an offer or not.
How can it be an excuse when it's the truth?
I just want to open up peoples eyes to the suggestion that Junior Witter could be stitching a lot of people up. You included...
In fact i think both fighters and the media are doing a wonderful job in manipulating the public.
That's not how matchmaking works at all. Witter isn't in a position to make an offer to Hatton because Hatton is the guy who calls the shots here. Hatton's people are the ones who make the offers.
"Not making an offer" is just legalese anyway. Both sides may have had discussions about whether a future fight is going to happen anf Hatton's people may have said something like "we'll let you know when we're ready." However you look at this Hatton is ducking Witter.
Ok well i can't change you're opinion.
What are you willing to bet that as soon as Witter makes an offer, Hatton snaps his hand off? This fight will happen next year. 100% positively sure about it.
;)
Witter isn't in a position to make an offer. Hatton can fill a stadium fighting a hasbeen or a neverwas, so there's now zero reason for him to fight Witter. He has everything to lose and nothing to gain so he won't do it.

Joe Calzaghe ... he's not bad..then you will see why we ain't desperate when we got one of the p4p best on our lil old patch of land....
:badass::badass::badass:
I find it comical that you think i'm not British. ;D
To surprise you further, i'm also from Leeds. ;D
The point you're referring to was me making a point about how our press/media build fighters up. I was wondering if the same thing is likely to happen to Witter.
And I find it further comical that you assumed that I thought that you wasn't British .... it was a bit of a give away with ya flag bud...
But yeah point taken, forgive me, I was goosed when I wrote my reply, had my three young ones staying over...nice to see another Leeds lad on board, so no hard feelings, and as Kenny Everett used to say "It was all done in the best possible taste"
Re: your point about the Brit press and Witter, God, lets hope not eh...

Yeh i agree. If the fight doesn't happen, it will tarnish his legacy....while enhancing Witter's.
Re: Is everyone in love with Junior Witter?
I don't think everyone is in love with Junior Witter but I distinctly remember the hate towards him when I first joined last year.
I'm guessing that was just many of the Hatton-ites that have since gone quiet since Hatton's K.O loss in December :p
Hatton's charm is really growing thin. He needs to grow some balls and face the number 1 contender..Quit all of the bullshit excuses. just like Mayweather will need to do also after the Oscar fight.
