I never said Hatton was my all time fave; he'd probably be in my top 15 all time. Hatton and Pavlik and Margarito were all my current faves; and RIcky still is a current fave. But all time is different. And Pavlik got owned by Bernard so what's your point? Ricky was still on my fave list after Floyd used him as a pinball; I like fighters who can't box and like to get punched over and over, it's entertaining:tease-new:

Leon Spinks - Only because he beat Muhammad Ali. (special mention)

Ruberto Duran - Couldn't wait to see the next opponent get Ko'd.

Luisito Espinosa - Only world class Filipino fighter at the time i could cheer for.

Manny Pacquiao - Hoped he could prove to do as good as Epinosa but got a whole lot more.

I had already posted here a while back, but I need to add another fighter to the list: Manny Pacquiao.

Aside from being an exciting and humble champion, Manny did two things that gave him instant favoritism in MY book:

1. He derailed DLH's "legacy-cementing" plans in brutal, humiliating fashion. Loved every minute of it.

2. Left no doubt as to the ridiculousness of Hatton's claim to be fighting for p4p # 1 status. Just how laughable that was must have become clear to him as he was staring up at the ceiling.

So... some of Pac's obnoxious fans aside, Manny still makes my new list of favorite fighters of all time.

It's hard to just pick 3, but here we go. Carlos Monzon Muhammed Ali, and Roberto Duran.

1 Ali - enough said

2 Nigel Benn - the first fighter I ever really got behind who fought in 'my era'

3 Lennox Lewis - first fighter I followed overseas to support



just outside - Arturo Gatti (gave his all every time) and Frank Bruno (we all loved him despite his crapness ;))

I'm surprised more UK fight fans don't mention Jimmy Wilde; maybe cause' there aren't a whole lot of his fights to watch. Gotta be one of the greatest flyweights ever; and daresay the greatest fighter from the UK Empire:)

1)Gugliemo Papaleo aka Willie Pep: Poetry in action, pure defense and the quitescence of elusiveness...

2)Roy Jones Jr (prime time): pure raw talent, exceptionnally skilled with a knack for show. Beautiful to see boxing at his best.

3) Eric Lucas. Well, not really my third choice but I have so much respect for him he has to be somewhere; genuine good guy, not the most talented but got to the top because he was working like a beast. If today Montreal is getting a corner stone in boxing with all the cards, massive assistance and such, it's greatly because of him. He's also the reason why we have a good "releve" to carry the torch, he inspired a whole generation of young canadians to wear the gloves and to get in the ring.

No. 1 is of course MANNY PACQUIAO. There is no bad/boring pacquiao fight. Well, maybe the Agapito Sanchez and MAB II fights.

No. 2 onwards.. too many to mention. Ali, RJJ, Duran, Leonard, Hearns, JMM, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield..
