Hope ya don't mind me Hijacking your thread Young blood,Sort of rambling but I had to get it off the shoulders and will post more here until it gets too hairy here.Might just grab the camera and throw some visuals into it......This ol' boy Gustov looks a bit pissed off and where ever it takes aim,Texas,Mississippi,Alabama,Florida,Ga. better be good to go!!!
Im all geared up and over prepared.............so now I get lost in some Boxing and just a few Fosters;D
Yo, you ain't hijicking'...you are adding. Is why I made this thread, to keep informed, from all perspectives. I'll handle the tracking of the systems unless anyone else wants to join in...and anyone and everyone interested and especially affected I hope adds too.
The more info. the better. And I hope all the hype is for not, as I know regardless of rebuilt levee's, the Big Easy does not need another direct hit...especially by a monster. So good luck, my friend.

Also forming is tropical storm Hannah. Bit early to worry about this just yet...but is something to be mindful of.

Re: Hurricane Season is Upon Us
Not knowing is killing me.Looks like shits pretty deep,Pretty sure I'm outta here come either sun.AM or night.Just trying to time the traffic and have to work around the counter-flow as you have only 3 ways to go,Texas,Mississippi or Florida.Have family in Florida but they have concerns with "Hanna" and /or Gustov.Looks like Gas is drying up fast....half the stations are empty and the others have massive waits. They have dispatched 1,500 national guard into the area and are very much prepped for what ever happens.....unlike last time. The huge concern in my immediate area is "The Harvey Canal" a few miles away...."Rita" busted it up and Corp of engineers repairs are not inspiring confidence,If we end up on the east side of winds,Many expect the Levees to fail and possibly the Flood gates........in that case we are the new city of Atlantis.Thay have armed guards at the ATM's and limit you to with drawls at the ones that remain functional. The clinic is evacuated and all staff with exception of myself and the owner remain.....It really is eerie how quite it is now.People have that wide eyed losing it look,Stress rules the day and starting to see some "doing dirt",Stealing empty gas cans off Lawn cutters trailers....also driving like lunatics,I passed 4 accidents coming home last night (3 mile drive).Anyway, just rambling with mind racing.
Heres a question,How in the hell do you transport 1100 VHS tapes and various Almanacs, score books and record books ??? Looks like ,In the worst case scenario.....My Collection will be a big anchor Lol

Re: Hurricane Season is Upon Us
Hey Spicoli'; seriously bro', you need to jump somewhere you can come up Dallas way and stay here if need be. Got plenty of room.
Re: Hurricane Season is Upon Us
Hopefully for LA and especially New Orleans, it follows some of the tracks which has it veering west close to landfall. Cuba is in for a big hit, and likely won't stop it's growth much. There is a high pressure system building to the east of the systems forecast path and could steer the system due west...so that it what meteorologists are watching for.
Storm surge tends to be greatest east of these systems, and is what is to be feared most as we have learned from the past. As it stands now, this warrants the hype and fear that is going on I would think. By tomorrow would should have a clearer idea just how close these predictions are and have been. But in any case, yup...pack those bags, be ready and again good luck Spicoli.

Legion, your a good man.I appreciate that one,But I think I'm heading up 59 through Mississippi and then doubling back down to get to Panama city the more I watch things. It really has/looks to veer to the west with a extreme arch so should avoid Florida entirely (?) but that would put us on the east side where the winds/rain are.Mother nayure does what she wants, when she wants.......all you can do is get out of the way, period!!
As well, watch yourself in Texas bud, looks to bring mass rain.....as well as those denm hurricane fleerers from down here Lol.They show the worst case scenarios on the News as far as people and the riff-raff.Were not a bad lot....but this place does have some social leeches amongst the good ones :-X. Just looked at a radar of the Tropics again,Its starting to resemble a teenager in high school on a sugar binge with all of those red dots ;D
Re: Hurricane Season is Upon Us
Alright again.I know this is sporadic and beating an event to death, bad choice of words maybe, but frankly people....I need a place to put this,so here I am.The streets are pretty vacant and Ive seen the 1st Humvee's and geared up Guard personal sitting in front of the Rite-aid on the corner. They really are prepped this time And The looters and shooters will be held in check this time around. The West bank has been put under mandatory evacuation as of Tonight and The have instituted a Dusk to dawn curfew effective immediatly....."You will be deemed Suspicious and your activities will be investigated by Federal officials" (Thats just scary no matter what LOL)
I'm outta here tomorrow morning,Dont really know what is ahead but They are putting us on the east side of landfall and if that happens under a category 4.......we are history, not drama but thats a fact!!!I'm sitting here with 20 gallons of gas sitting in front of me (The natives are getting restless and are looking for fuel :-X).Car is packed up,cash on hand. You do alot of little odd things prepping for this.....Empty the refrigerator of foods and find reason to grill up all of the frozen stuff. There is nothing as bad as an Ice box that has been sitting with no electricity for 1 week or 2.Unless its the one out at work during Katrina with 2 deceased animals!!It really is grotesque.Sorry thats abit much!Time is ticking and I have that pre big fight feeling....nervous but focused.
Its actually funny in that Im sitting here trying to decide which fight tapes to salvage. The goofy shit that goes through your mind in times of this nature.Really hope to come on here in a few days from my home and just say "What an over reaction man,you were freaking " ;D I encourage anyone else along the Gulf to gear up and get out, dont know who else here lives in the gulf area but this one looks to cause buu-kuu flooding.
