Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
Haha I can see how you hate oatmeal, there are some days where the texture just makes me want to throw up. Like right now I couldn't possibly eat oatmeal. But I love that maltomeal stuff I mix in jelly with it it's great. I feel like a peasant eating pourage everytime I eat it though but it's great stoner food if you need to fill up.
My mom occasionally makes chorizo from a recipe that is like 5 generations old now. Anyways, she actually makes it with some special type of meat then has a thing that pumps the sausage stuff into casings. The old recipe called for it to be cased in intenstine, but when she actually got the intestine it smelled soooooo bad when the box opened. And it tasted no different ???
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
Yea I'd try that. Not too many foods I don't like, or would be afraid to atleast try. Not too long ago I was at a freindsplace during his families reunion. They are italian, and had family from Sicily there. Ate octopus, squid (not deep fried either...practically raw), all sorts of other weird fish parts...and some stuff I was told to not ask, just try. lol Some of it was a bit gross, but some of the stuff was pretty good if you didn't question where it came from too much.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
squid's real good IMO.
I love seafood, especially shellfish. Any of it, oysters, mussels, clams.
Lobster's probably the single greatest food there is.
Shrimp's kind of boring, I like fish but not as much as shellfish.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
Fish sucks. Lobster too, so terribly average has to be the most overrated food there ever was. Callimari is good though.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
I would eat lobster even if it was marinated in tea and splashed with ginseng and honey and death.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
The death would just be a garnish.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
Its so good.
It would probably be a part of my last meal.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
No way, lobster rocks. We started eating it and esp[ecially crab legs because of that tv show "Deadliest Catch"...and it wasn't overly expensive I don't think as we loaded up on it when it went on sale. You do get tired of it after awhile, but king crab legs, just wow. Calimari is okay...but meh, just tastes like and looks onion rings.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
What type of lobster? Is it like steak? Is there a sliding scale of lobster, what's good and what's bad and where does Red Lobster rank? I've never had Red Lobster but I have a gift card. Not that I would spend it on lobster but I'm curious.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
I've had it pulled out of the trap in Maine like an 30 minutes before it was cooked its so good. One of my first memories is my Uncle showing us how to handle a live lobster and it bit the shit out of him.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
Red Lobster's pretty horrible. Actually I've never eaten there but I suspect its horrible.
Maine Lobster's the best. You have to get it fresh.

Yeah calimari is just meh, and my parents go down to Bodega Bay a lot and pick up crab off the boats from a fisherman we know and I have them sometimes. And I have had king crab too but this isn't king crab I don't think. Again, average. But eating the spiders of the sea is something strangely satisfying for me, that's serious.

They sell live lobster at the Asian market here and all up and down the piers in San Francisco they do the same. Same, deal. Yeah I still don't like it.
I'm not huge on steak either though. I've never had lobster high, which typically means I can't trust my own taste buds but whatever.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
wow I'm stupid. here I am, trying to cut weight for a fight this weekend, and I'm hanging around in a food thread. haha i'm drooling all over keyboard...may a well poke myself in the eye while I'm at it.
Re: Favorite Food THread Again.
I mean I really like a good steak but I guess its kind of overrated in a way in that its seen as the be all end all of good food.
