Re: Mayweather's PPV numbers are looking good
..a better question would probably be how many people here bought the ppv. Mayweather cant sell shit wow now that is hillarious. The man is a multi-millionare so he's making all that money off of his opponets ??!! I'm not sure but i don't think banks, bills, car dealerships, hell even the back tax irs dept care about how he gets the money. Seems even more impressive that he makes what little pennies he does make off the backs of his opponets and people that hate him. Without any kind of following at all he's managed wwe spots, tv commercials, tv interviews, but i guess Jt must have mucho bank since he's the only one watching i guess...I know a whole lot of fighters making a whole lot less doing a whole hell of a lot more. But i guess you can turn in your fans for cash at some point, so then it does make sense. People that hate the guy spend way more time talking about floyd then his fans do......sad in a way.

I bought it, was a pretty shitty card overall. I really didnt think Mayweather would school him that hard and be that much faster. Mayweather is definately going for the winner of Cotto/Pac next, did you see him run out and have a hissy fit when Shane called him out.

IMO the best fight of the night was Katsidis/Escobedo, Katsidis showed good form and although he was hyped till no end, Escobedo showed heart and grit finishing the fight after taking some brutal shots

Perhaps De la Hoya & Schaefer are pulling out one of Arum's tricks and hyping the numbers for the bargaining table and planning never to release them?

Honestly, I was thinking "ehhh, 500K" but this proves that Floyd is a PPV attraction. There is no more question. When the dude says he's "Money" he's got the proof. He basically sold this PPV off of his name. Marquez's following helped out but Pac-MArquez 2 only did like 500K. Mayweather is finally signed, sealed, and delivered as a true PPV superstar. I thought the PPV would do well because of the buzz amongst everyone but not that well. You haters can't say anything about the man. He's proved the money part, now he's just gotta fight and beat Pac or Mosley (I think both fights will happen honestly) to become the greatest fighter of our generation (if he isn't already).
Don't count the chickens before they're hatched. Pacquiao/Hatton was rumoured to have sold around 1.6-1.9 million at the beginning, it ended up around 875K.
There was word that HBO was going to release the numbers late Wednesday or on Thursday. So far no word or official release from HBO.
The longer HBO take to release the number, the less likely that it was huge as the rumours claimed.
I bet it is around the same as the Hatton/Pacquiao fight.

Not impressed with this sig thingy either. You know the WBU is run from a cottage in Norfolk, right? It's not the most prestigious organisation.
